The coffee beans are fresh roasted (by Orleans Coffee Exchange, I suspect). They also carry whole leaf teas (again, Orleans Coffee Exchange). I brought home a half pound bag of whole bean medium roast Bali Blue Moon, Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, and Peru Naranjillo. The smell alone was gorgeous, with a sweetness to it. After grinding what I needed, I brewed a cup with a pour-over brewer (and a French press the next day). Talk about smooth. No sugar or cream required. Due to its freshness, the coffees natural sweetness remained intact, and the bloom was frothy. Id highly recommend their beans to anyone in the area wanting to upgrade their coffee experience.

Stellar is a nice little shop if youre looking for a comfortable place enjoy great coffee, tea, soup and sandwiches. The baristas are genuinely nice and the place doesnt have a "corporate chain" feel about it. Along with the normal chairs and tables of a coffee shop, there are coffee tables and couches as well as live acoustic musicians, poetry readings, art, comedy and live play performances. Its like sitting in your living room with friends, but more entertaining.

Coffee House Hangout A great find passing through Lake Charles. Inviting and cozy with couches and upholstered chairs in addition to tables. Local artwork the length of the brick wall, pottery on the shelves, books and games. Good selection of coffee beverages, teas and smoothies. Breakfast and lunch sandwiches, salads. A great place to hang out for a while before hitting the road again.

Every time I go, I see the a very intimate environment where everyone knows your name and your usual drink. The sandwiches are always tasty. Ask for one to be "made with love," as they are the best. The coffee is strong and good. Expect to be awake at the end of a good cup. It is the place to get coffee. Skip Starbucks and enjoy one of Downtowns best kept secrets.

Love the atmosphere and the food and the people who meet there. Val is great about arranging special events such as book club meetings, writers groups, musicians, poetry, artists. Shes easy to work with and has the technology setup for WiFi and SKYPE Great Chicken Salad and Egg Salad. She also serves gluten-free bread

The atmosphere was warm, comfortable, and the staff were friendly. If youre looking for an okay coffee that you can enjoy with friends, Stellar does do a good job. If youre looking for artisanal, hand-crafted coffee, however, the offerings are disappointing. Specifically, the pour overs are not well done if done at all.

Great coffee, awesome variety of tea and coffee, (just havent tried teas yet but smell delicious), BEIGNETS!, tasty muffins, sandwiches look terrific, and did I mention BEIGNETS! Really nice attentive personnel. Very artsy decor. Often have live soft music (guitar). Lots of local artists paintings on display.

Good coffee shop. Theyre knowledgeable about the coffee they sell and can make great espresso drinks. Much better to support your local coffee shop than to keep visiting the same old chain everywhere you go. Especially when the coffee is much tastier here than at you know where.

Went here for the first time just recently. The vibe is legit. Lovely artwork and lots of books and novelties on the shelves. It smells like coffee mixed with an antique store. I ordered a wet cappuccino and a chocolate muffin and both were great.

We came in for beignets but they were doughy and under done. They werent very good, totally disappointed. The egg casserole was good but was really small. Coffee ok but the half and half tasted odd. We will be back to Lake Charles but not here.
