American Pawn is a family owned & operated pawn shop that has been in business since 1992. We are reputable, upstanding members of our community. It is unfortunate that Rusty Shackleford has chosen to slander our business on the internet through Google reviews. Had he contacted my husband or myself by calling the customer satisfaction number posted in all of our stores we would have gladly helped him with his issues. American Pawn reports all items taken in to the police department on a daily basis as required by law. We are licensed & monitored by the Baton Rouge City Police. We never knowingly take stolen merchandise, however, when a situation arises where merchandise is found to have been stolen we always work hand in hand with full cooperation with the police to get the merchandise back to its rightful owner...at our expense. As for Mr. Shacklefords false accusation regarding his "stolen merchandise" as well as that of his friends, had either simply reported the items to the police they would have received all of the help they needed.

Total Garbage. Where the junkies go to get money from douchebags. I had a ton stolen from me and sold there and they could do nothing to help me. they even lied to me and said they dont buy wiis, while a wii was clearly for sale on the wall, not to mention theyve bought one of my friends wiis not long before that. One of my friends has had his toolbox stolen from his truck and found it there. Even tested the key on his keychain on it and it was the one. They refused to help him. Felt violated and pushed around, mostly jerks working there.

Felt play got 2 woofers sold us a beat up box with two 10s in them the woofer box was busted cracked and they tried to hide that by going around the box with nails then when we brought the box back they said we should have payed attention to it so they get mad withcha when you want ya money and have an attitude thats bad business if you ask me never again. .......

Been coming here for years really to just buy stuff like dvd,s games etc. I never really had to pawn anything but today I did. The guy who helped me was very helpful and freindly. I got a great deal and was out the place quick. Id recomend people to come here.
