So, this place received rave reviews and we had an hour to spare in Newport. So, it wasnt really a tough decision to try this one. Tough one was, to leave the place. Coffee & Food: They have a large menu for coffee with some amazing new varieties. They also have pastries, cookies, and some savory items. I came across Mavericks chocolates as well - which is one of the best in Cincinnati area (arguably in the US as well). We went for Cortado and London Fog along with Donnas chocolate chunk cookie and got the coffee cake packed. Cortado is pretty much 50:50 coffee and milk. Definitely, the kind of coffee you would love to have in the morning - provides great kick and really gives you a feeling that youre having one of the best coffees in the world. London Fog was good - a very different beverage. I loved the velvety finish to it. It had a very familiar taste - closer to vanilla but not exactly that. But found it pretty bland - I would rather try something else than this. The cookie was great - something which can easily get overly sweet - they had a good proportion of sugar. The coffee cake was great too - very fluffy and soft. Ambiance: One thing you instantly fall in love with, as you enter the place, is the ambiance. The combination of wood and red bricks is very much visible but one thing you cant stop noticing is the bicycle right on top of the menu wall. There is a rack on one side with different types of coffees that you can purchase. Brilliant work on the interiors - right from the tables to the curtains. The view outside is amazing. Be sure you take the table with a roadside view (for which youll need to be two or more). Service: Very good service. I hadnt heard about Cortado before, so the lady at the counter explained it with great detail. I loved the enthusiasm these folks had. Pretty fast service, although the place wasnt crowded when we were there. This is definitely one of the best places for coffee in Newport area and one of the must visit places if youre traveling to Cincinnati.

I am shocked to see the review with 1 Star! I am a self proclaimed and friend affirmed coffee snob! We have tasted coffee across the country and over the big pond. We have sat at the proverbial feet of some amazing artisan coffee roasters and grown into refined coffee "connoisseurs" (termed used loosely of course). I experienced this coffee for the first time last Saturday...It was amazing! So much so, as soon as I saw the bottom of the cup, we turned around and returned for another. We plan our trips around hitting Lagrange, Ky in time for one of our favorite coffee shops to draw us a much needed shot of espresso. We will now be planning our trips to include a stop at Carabello! I have neither tasted a dogs butt nor smelled rats, but I am a professor and given to fancies of imagination and yet I can NOT fathom a scenario where canine anal furunculosis or Muridae redolence would elucidate or delineate the fragrant notes of the blend I relished at Carabello. How dare this coffee shop luxuriate and contribute to the improvement of humanity! Dont they know there are refined palates that can distinguish paint thinner and other complex compounds that would live on the streets and operate a shop that takes NO profit?! Until such an establishment rises like a phoenix on the banks of the mighty Ohio River, we will continue our luxurious ways and savagely consume latte after latte, and recklessly blow our money on cup after cup that only donates a portion of profit and stop in Carabello every chance we get!

Coffee done right. I had the seasonal gingerbread latte and the cupping was done well and I could taste all of the expected flavors. The coffee was smooth and bold. My friend had an americano and, as she described, the most amazing english muffin with some of the best organic strawberry jam I have tasted. The experience was great. They have several options for seating, some booths, a dining room style, and a slow bar. The coffee is high quality and the service was friendly and helpful. The owners are on site and truly seek to take your coffee experience to a new level. The place does seems to get busy and is pretty popular. The slow bar is an interesting concept they seem to do quite well. If youre in the area, its worth a quick stop in to check the place out.

Amazing coffee, amazing people, amazing cause. This place deserves 5 stars, the baristas are really friendly and engaging, the atmosphere is cozy and delightful, but best of all the coffee is (A) ethically sourced and (B) made fresh. Carabello takes coffee seriously and delivers delicious coffee in the process, but their main goal and concern is support the communities where their coffee comes from. So your coffee might be a few cents more than Starbucks, but you are supporting an important and much needed cause. And did I mention they have cold brew on tap?

I was there by my self sitting at one of their smallest tables (seats 2) and the owner told me to move from the table and to share with someone else. He said he wanted to leave open tables in case other customers came in. I was shocked classic example of owner caring more about the next potential $ than he cares about existing paying customer. Yes I had purchased a coffee and was drinking it while he asked me to move.

I wish you could give "half-stars" as Id give this place a 4.5. The staff is awesome - very personable and they will answer questions you have about anything youre ordering. I had a mocha that was out of this world. Much better than many other places. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. My only negative is that they are a tad bit pricey compared to other places. Definitely will be a repeat visitor!

Carabello Coffee is my favorite local coffee spot, or any coffee spot for that matter. Their cappuccino is the absolute best. Ill also get a latte to go, as one cup is never enough. Cold brew is on tap, and the customer service is outstanding. I would recommend this place to anyone. I cant wait for the new space to open, I hope theyll have later hours, as it will make for a great date night place.

The place was nice, but the coffee smelled like dirty feet and was bitter. Not worth wasting your time or money at this place. I would rather drink McDonalds coffee for a $1. I also feel a very good read is found on yelp posted by A.B on 1/27/2015. My hat is off to him or her, Thanks. It is has brought out some of the things I already know about this place but never posted.

Stopped by with my wife to celebrate Valentines day. From the moment we walked in the staff was attentive, genuine, and warmly welcoming. As we got our cortado and lattes it got even better. The drinks were as good as any weve ever had and each came with a delicious soft caramel. The good service continued until we left. The music and decor were great too :-)

Great guys, fair trade coffee, good atmosphere. They really know what theyre doing here and really take the time to invest in their customers. I went there with a few friends for the first time today and they were chatting with us the entire time about the coffee business we were wanting to start. it was wonderful!
