GREED! GREED! GREED! THE INTRO: Today (9.13.16) our daughter-in-law invited my wife and me to join her and her 4 year old for birthday donuts at the 37th and Woodlawn Hurts. We got there early and I ordered two Birthday Cake donuts and what I think was a small coffee. The bill came to AROUND $7.00, which I thought was high, but oh well - the donuts were tasty and bigger than normal, and the coffee was OK. THE POINT: The coffee was still too hot to comfortably drink by the time I finished my first donut and I asked the clerk for a little cup of water. She hemmed and hawed for a couple of seconds and then held up an orange cup and said shed have to charge me $2.00 for a cup of water. I was incredulous and I apologize if I hurt her feelings when I said, "$2.00 for a cup of water!! Thats bullshit!" Right at the ready was a laminated sign full of fine print that she held up and pointed to some words, so evidently Im not the first to have received this joyful experience. And I asked her to share those precise words of customer feedback with the manager or store owner. Going back to my table, I looked closely at their soft drink machine, and sure enough - no water button, so my options were: 1. Buy a bottle from the cooler (no idea how much), 2. Chug my coffee and take my cup into the mens room and check out their tap water, or 3. Just suck it up and wait until I got someplace more principled, less greedy, and more customer-focused. I opted for #3. Its too bad because the donuts were tasty, but one "Hurts" experience was enough for me. Dillons Bakery has great donuts, Starbucks for great coffee, and little plastic cups for all the water you want. Don Burrows -

Went with a friend on Saturday July 9, 2016, first time either of us had been there and was pretty excited to have our first Hurts Donut without even trying any donuts we will not be returning. The employees have no customer service what so ever. The gentleman handling the donuts touched his nose with his hands ( not sure if he had gloves on or the glove was put on after) pretty sure there was no hand washing either. Walked in around noonish or so the place wasnt busy. Two new customers came in after us so we stepped back to try to decide what we would try while they approached the counter to view the donuts in the display case, the gentleman pulled back a tray towards himself that had what appeared to be cinnamon rolls or maybe bear claws( there was no label) I thought he was doing it so the ladies could see the donuts underneath the tray a little better. However, that was not the case. There was a bug I am pretty sure it was a fly or a bug similar in size on the rack the trays sit on. He then proceeded to push the tray that possibly had the cinnamon rolls on it really fast in what appeared to me as he was trying to kill the bug without the ladies noticing. I am pretty sure they didnt. If he was able to kill the bug it would have landed on the donuts on the rack/shelve below. I did notice and we abruptly left. Grossed me out!

I have never been treated worse anywhere. I worked in the back for a total of 10 hours, and I have never experienced more sexual harassment, racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, you name it. When I went to pick up my check, the store manager Trista (who knew I was there) had me wait over half an hour. When I saw her, I politely said "Are you Trista? she said yes and I said "okay, well Im waiting for you just whenever you get the chance." with a SMILE on my face. She said in the rudest tone, "you can wait, thanks." and then closed the door in my face, and sent someone else out with my check. I will never support the awful people that I encountered. It was pitiful. Dont waste your time, The Donut Hole has better donuts and much, much better service.

30 minute wait for blah donuts. If you like a dry donut dough with cereal on top, this is the place for you. They only had one person getting donuts and running the register on a Saturday morning. Theres no labels on the donuts so every person that gets up there has to ask what each donut is, which adds to the insane wait. The donut part was very dry. Nothing special about them other than the decoration. Youd be better off going to one of the many delicious shops in town and putting some dry cereal on it at home. Donuts were completely inedible with in a couple hours because they were so dry. Our kids each ate one and the rest of the dozen was trashed. Waste of money.

Very Disappointed. Went in at 8:30 a.m. Labor Day. Moderate wait in line. Donuts were good, but they were out of coffee. I informed counter help and waited nearly 30 minutes and still no coffee. When we finally couldnt hang around any longer eating donuts without anything to wash them down, they managed to get me a cup of coffee to take with me. A donut shop with no coffee? Really?! This evening we drove through at 7 and they were out of long johns, had no old fashions, and were out of plain glazed donuts. I didnt really want a cake donut with icing. Left with nothing. I doubt that I will be back for a third disappointment.

We really loved the donuts. However we have noticed not quite the freshness as a month ago. My husband went in last Saturday morning, early, to get donuts. There were no maple bacon to be had but he still bought a dozen. The donuts were hard and crispy on the outside and dry and crumbly on the inside. Not sure why but 70% of them were this way. I called the store and they said, "thank you for letting us know". I spoke with a young girl that didnt seem to really care. Just wanted me off the phone. That was it. Hmm. Havent been back sadly.

I had never heard of Hurts Donut until I read about their Kaiser Carlile fundraiser. My wife and I were moved by the generosity of the company to give 100% of the fundraiser donut sales to the Carlile family. There are many larger companies that could jump on this philanthropic & generous bandwagon for other great causes in our community. Bravo Hurts Donut! -By the way, they have great donuts! I recommend the blueberry donut and my wife recommends the birthday cake donut.

Bought a dozen & half donuts from the drive-thru window. Was very specific when ordering that we wanted 4 of the blueberry in our dozen and 2 in the 1/2 dozen. The 1/2 doz was correct, the mixed dozen did not even have 1 of the Blueberry. This is the 2nd time they have totally messed up our order. When you try to call them, you get a recording that says they will call back within 48 hours. Great donuts when they get your order right, terrible customer service.

this place is the best donut shop in witchita kansas hands downut (get it). The prices are EXTREMELY low for the AMAZING food and selection and quility. The workerz are very nice and very caring to get the customer what they want and as fast as possible. Now, of course there are more than one donut shop in witchita kansas, but none of them can compare to this gem of a place. 11/10 coming back, hands downut and remeber donut go anywhere else WANNA HURTS DONUT
