About 2 years ago I got a tattoo from Elekrik Chair, which is right across the street from Artist at Large. My tattoo that day was 150 dollars. But when i went just yesterday to get another tattoo almost identical to the first, I thought i would give another shop a try, so i went to AAL. The staff was friendly and all, but they quoted me 240 dollars. thinking that it was a bit steep, i went back over to elektrik chair and they quoted me 150 dollars again, 90 DOLLARS LESS than at AAL. This is in no way to knock the quality of work that AAL does, but I did feel like they were trying to take advantage of the fact they didnt think i had gotten a tattoo before. All i am saying is that if you are interested in getting a tattoo in Wichita, dont have your heart set on one shop unless you feel loyalty to them. Shop around the different stores and see who can give you the best deal. I personally will forever be going back to Elektrik Chair tattoo, as they have came through for me flawlessly twice.

I went here when I turned 18. Got a red tattoo on my fore arm. It itched like crazy constantly, but I didnt touch it. I took really good care of it. 6 months later, it still itched like a ton of fire ants. Found out this is called "red reaction". When I went back 6 months after getting it and told them about it they said "it was perfectly natural and would go away on its own in 2 weeks." It still itches to this day. I have an identical tattoo (with much better line work, shout out to bleeding heart tattoo) and it had zero red reactions. Same with the red tattoo on my chest. I guess aal is okay with getting cheap, self mixed red inks and risking life long red reaction for their customers. Not cool.

Im 30 and Ive wanted a tattoo for many years. I brought my ideas to a shop further south. The guy kept telling me to come in and he would have something drawn up. I had 3 different appointments, he would always ask me to give him another day. A friend told me about Artist at Large, I went in to check it out. I told Duncan about my idea, went in for my appointment a couple days later. Drawing was done and perfect. After a couple hours he was finished and the result was absolutely beautiful! He did an amazing job! Im so glad the other place didnt work out.

I went in on a Saturday with a very vague idea of what I wanted. I showed the lady that greets you a picture on my phone, she gave it to Dennis and explained what I wanted. He drew up the idea that was in my head perfectly! I wanted the tattoo on my side on my ribs, he didnt lie when i asked him if ribs hurt the worst, so it being my first tattoo I was pretty nervous. He did an amazing job!! He did even let me take a break halfway through cause it did hurt! I will deff. come back to get my next one!

i just got finished up with my tattoo from Juan, i have gotten three now and this one i just got was on my ribs, the most painful spot by majority vote, and lets just say it was perfect!!! exactly what i wanted and it really didnt even hurt too bad. Juan took his time and his pricing was $20 less than a less reputable shop down the way. thank you so much to those guys who did everything they could to make my tattoo experience nothing less than perfect!!!! The place is VERY clean and well kept. It was my first tattoo experience, and of course it was a little painful lol, but they did an AMAZING job. Take your business here! I searched every tattoo place in Wichita, and Im glad that I decided on Artist At Large. Five star experience. Tim Gomez was my artist, and he was true to his quote, even though the tat took longer than expected. I tipped him very well, and he definitely deserved it! Hope this helps!

Got my first tattoo here when I was 17. My best friend had just passed away, so I got a tattoo to remember him by. My dad drove the two hours to get to Wichita and got a tattoo also. It was a walk-in, and what I was wanting was a little more than a normal walk in. Dennis worked with me, and made sure I got what I was wanting. He did an amazing job, and was extremely nice to work with. That was almost ten years ago, and the tattoo still looks awesome.

I went less than a week ago to get a piercing done on my upper ear. I did everything I was told to do and was told to leave the ear ring in for 6 to 8 weeks. Well this morning when I went to clean it I found the back had fallen off and my ear had partially closed! The ear ring was cheap and very small. I was told you needed a big ear ring because it swells. My husband and I were going to go back to them to get tattoos but not after this.

Austin was great! My son and I were getting tattoos for the first time and he made the experience very pleasant. All of the artist we spoke to were very nice. The store was extremely clean, including the bathrooms. The music was loud and not my style, but Im sure there was a reason for it and after being there for a while it started to grow on me.

I got my first tattoo here a little over a year ago--my artist was Shelly (who is no longer there), but she did amazing! Its a large scale piece of my side. Amazing line work and no fading. Very happy with the piece. Overall, the staff is amazing. Very kind-hearted, genuinely nice people! Go get your ink done here.

If you are writing a bad review on the shop, you are probably a complete moron and have no business getting tattooed or pierced. Incredibly nice and talented staff. If you think otherwise, well, you can just go home and watch reruns of LA Ink and have your friend do it in his bathroom.

Ive had three tattoos from Dennis. They look amazing! Each time he was courteous and professional. The shop is always clean and everyone is super nice each time I come in! Artist At Larget Tattoo Shop is the only shop in town as far as I am concerned.

duncan did my first tattoo there about two weeks ago. Since it was my first I didnt know what to expect, and it hurt like hell. But he was worked fast and still did an amazing job. I barely had any peeling and my tattoo looks amazing!!!!!
