I ordered my textbook (only one) online through the KU bookstore. The first time attempting to order, I recieved an error message on the website. I had to enter my entire order again. The second time was successful. I specified on the web page that I wanted to pick my book up at the Burge Union rather than the larger bookstore in the Memorial Union. I attend KU law, which is right across the street from the Burge. While in the Burge, I noted numerous other customers asking for their book orders. The staff were polite but running around frantically, unable to find several book orders that were supposedly ready. My girlfriend ordered her books but had to call to confirm because she had not received an email after several days. The bookstore failed to process or register her order as complete, despite taking payment. This occurred for unknown and unexplained reasons. After the phone call, bookstore staff confirmed that she had made the order and her books were ready by the end of the day. I received an email a few days after ordering the book online stating that my order was ready to be picked up. However, my textbook was not in the Burge Union bookstore. I had to drive across campus and pay $1.75 for parking, and walk up 4 flights of stairs and deal with a rude cashier in the main union bookstore. I have a receipt stating that it was supposed to be delivered to the Burge. I do not want to say that the logistics folks behind the KU Bookstore are completely inept because I realize that there are several thousands of students and book orders. But when the store already overcharges and lists deceptively high "competitor" prices, I must insist that they take care to provide decent services when I have to order books from them. KU Bookstore failed to provide any level of service and displayed a great deal of disorganization. The only partially redeeming quality would be the friendly staff working in the Burge. They appeared to be doing everything they could to remedy the situation. The problem is with the management and/or logistics for the bookstore. Avoid purchasing books from here if humanly possible.

Helpful staff; insanely busy during semester starts, though. Often can find cheaper prices online for textbooks, but its convenient to have them all in one place.

They have just about everything you need for books, and other things you need for classes. It does cost more here, but the location is convenient.

Lots of random stuff. It is surprising what is and isnt overpriced. Good if you want to kill time and browse, but most stuff is pretty pricey.

The best selection of KU gear that you can find anywhere. It is hard to go there and not buy several things.

Best place in town to find your KU memorabilia. Dont forget discounts for KU Alumni Association members.

All the profits from the store go back to the students. The most ethical of the 4 bookstores serving KU
