I discovered Aldi just a couple of months back when buying in the regular supermarkets had become out of bounds for me. My wife and me lost our jobs and so I was looking around for a place to find things cheaper. By the way, I am from India and I am here in Des Moines since 18 months. Items were cheap but with my experinece I thought the staff would be rude or plain unattentive. I am a regular to the store now (at least once a week) and the staff here is extremely helpful, things are well stocked and of course, the price, is unbeatable. The bread section did not curry favor with me, but the rest of the store under the manager, Paul (I am sure thats his name) is just wonderful. Thanks for a great store and great prices! Aldis tried to KILL My FAMILY!!! Bought a Family pack of chicken drumsticks on Friday, the next day Saturday we open the package to grill out and the stench of rotting flesh was horrible. We immediately wrapped it up in about 5 separate plastic grocery bags and took it out to the trash, but it took over 24 hours to get the putrid stench of rotten flesh out of the kitchen. The package of meat went from store and immediately home into our refrigerator...the meat was already rotting in the store. Im done with Aldis..my families lives are worth way more than trying to save a couple bucks. Aldis should be closed...forever.

Underwent a total renovation over winter 2017; the new store is more open. For those unfamiliar, Aldi is a German discount grocery chain. They dont have everything you would find at a supermarket, like a full deli or a complete selection of spices, but they have almost everything, and its very well priced. There are also occasionally some interesting German products that you wouldnt find anywhere else. This is the biggest and best Aldi Ive visited. Beware that when its busy carts can crowd the aisles; its easier to come here when its less busy. Also, they charge for bags so its a good idea to bring your own.

They always carry Fair Trade, Non-GMO and Organic at very reasonable prices. The produce is usually better than the chain grocery stores. With most of it being Organic at a great price. I love browsing through their non-foods section. They carry such fun items! Usually seasonal. I love the fact that you have to "rent" a cart and bag your own groceries. This helps reduce plastic waste and keeps the parking lot nice and tidy.

I love Aldi! The price is great and the quality rivals that of whole foods. You can get everything you need at Aldi. I normally dont buy meat at Aldi just because I tend to be a costco snob over that one. But the dew times I had purchased meat there it was just as good as what we get at other grocery stores. The Milk is great, lots of cereal variety. All kinds of lunchbox solutions. Shop here weekly!

If you havent been to Aldi in a while, you need to check it out. They pack a lot into this little store. The price you pay for what you get is easily the best among grocery stores. The quality of their products is surprisingly high. I used to think of Aldi as a cheap store with low quality products. Not anymore. I do most of my grocery shopping here now. Great store!

I come in to buy ground turkey and it seems to be always out. With good customer service, we got creative. I prepaid to purchase 3 packs of ground turkey to be picked up later (my work hours conflict with the products availability) and when I got off work, with the proof of my receipt, I was able to pick up the turkey. Thanks !!!

You have to "rent" the shopping cart for a quarter, and they dont provide free bags of any kind to put your groceries in, but theyre cheap and have consistently good quality items. All are house- branded, and almost always good stuff. Produce is super cheap. I would rate 5 stars, but this location is getting old and run down.

Our go-to grocery store! Aldi has the best prices around on nearly everything. It is always a quick process too!. The no-frills approach keep prices low. They have organic and all natural foods. And there is always the sprinkling of featured non-food items that changes weekly. Am excited for the remodeling to be finished!

Clean,organized, efficient. You may have to put a quarter in the slot to get a cart but check this out if people do that then you know your car will not get dinged by a cart because if they want their quarterback they have to go put the cart back.

With no local number you get show up to a place thats completely empty and shut down with a big cheap sign out front that says closed till Friday real tacky and shows a lot of lack and wanting to keep business

Staff are always friendly and helpful. Many items there are significantly less than elsewhere. Produce is generally good but you need to verify as some produce needs to be used quickly before it spoils.

The staff us the most unfriendly i have ever met at an aldi. They were out of the live g free granola bars that i always buy. The aisles are packed with crates and such so it is hard to get through.

I love the selection of quality gluten free items. And you cannot beat their prices. I also think its awesome you can get a lot of the same produce here as other grocery stores for lower prices!

Overrated and terrible. Prices werent that different from other stores, its common to find 3 carts in one tiny aisle, the selection is horrible, and you need to bring change to rent a cart.

The remodel is nice but I dont like the new lay out. It used to be that you made your way up and down each isle everyone moving in the same direction.. Now its just a mess.

Its cheap food, but you get what you pay for. As for this actual location, staff was nice, stuff was easy to find, and it was clean. There wasnt a huge selection though.

Recently remodeled, clean. The aisles are pretty tight though and the fresh produce isnt always fresh, even though aldis is normally good about that.

Aldi is amazing. Lower prices and has all the staple grocery items I need. Also has a few vegetarian/vegan options in the frozen section.

Always cheap prices on food. I wouldnt suggest the "fresh" produce but anything canned, wrapped, or in a box or bag is great.

One of the few Aldi that is very organized. Every aisle is labeled making it easier to find things. Also extremely clean.
