RESPONSE FROM OWNER: Maggie Shannon......Im sorry if you were not sattisfied with the vehicle you and your fiancee purchased from us we sold you the vehicle in good faith and we did not notice any leak problems from this vehicle at the time of sale, regarding the call from you to our office I never yelled at you or scream at you like you state in your comment its actually vice versa, the only thing I did ask from you in a polite manner was to stop the threatening calls from you and your fiancee regarding you and him reporting us to the ftc and suing us, when I notice you were not letting me speak I did had to hang up the phone because you keept interrupting and screamming, we tried to ressolve this issue in an amicable way by asking your fiancee to split the cost that was going to take care of the oil leak wich was $125each this is called a Goodwill repair that I like to offer to my customers not an obligation. He refused and whent ahead and told us he was going to file a complaint with the ftc and contact an attorney. Like I mentioned in the previous response, the vehicle was sold AS-IS with no warranty and the buyer has the option to have it inspected by any mechanic of his choice specially being a 2000 vehicle with 149,800 miles, We tried to offer help as much as we could, We started back in 2007 with only 2 vehicles for sale and we now have an average of 40 to 50 vehicles in our lot and keep growing thanks to the excellent customer service and products that we have been offering to our customers, every year we get more return customers because they liked the way they were treated and especially liked the honesty they received from us, I would advice you Maggie to try and learn the definitions for Slander and Libel words before leaving a comment on a business,thanks.................David Q

RE:Dan Beeding...Dan we sold you the vehicle on 1/22/13 and you did not brought this leak issue to us until 2/06/13 wich is 2 weeks and 1 day, my mechanic inspects all the vehicles that we put up for sale, if there would have been a leak im 100% sure he would have taken care of it the right way, also I dont understand what cheap repairs are you talking about Dan, I have the receipt for the cost of those parts plus the time my mechanic spend on the 2 repairs(labor&parts) excedees well over $300 dollars, now you have to remember that the vehicle was sold as-is with no warranty at all(I have the Buyers guide no warranty document signed by you), you also had and were told about the opportunity to take it to any mechanic of your choice to have it inspected before purchasing it, specially being a 2000 vehicle with 149,800 miles, We tried to help you as much as we could, we even went as far as not charging you a single penny for the first 2 repairs even do it had no warranty I was still standing behind my product and my bussiness, after the 2nd repair all we asked you was for a fair resolution to this problem wich was to split the cost wich was going to be $125each, we did not lied or misrepresented our vehicle to you as you stated we sold you a great running suv that unfortunately started leaking oil a week or two after it was sold to you, also the decision to take it and have it diagnosed somewhere else was yours Dan not ours. We started back in 2007 and have offered excellent customer service and products to our customers, every year we get more return customers because they liked the way they were treated and especially liked the honesty they received from us, thanks......David Q

San Diego Auto Sales is an absolutely fantastic place. The relaxed, no pressure environment is a nice change when shopping for a vehicle. I located a 12 Honda Civic on craigslist and came in the next day for a test drive. Gabe, the salesman, explained the complete history (rebuilt) of the car and let me go for an extended test drive. He also advised me to have a trusted mechanic inspect the vehicle so I wouldnt find any surprises (as-is). Being from out of town, I drove the car a good distance and inspected it the best I could and returned back to the dealer. I put in a cash offer and David (the owner) met me very fairly close to my initial amount. I advised him the car needed an alignment and I factored that into my offer. This is where my experience gets over the top impressive. I took the car back to Ames on a Saturday to have the alignment done and the mechanic advised me the spindle/hub was bent up front and it could not be aligned. I immediately called David asking if there was anything he could do as I had anticipated the vehicle being drivable. He immediately ordered the parts from Honda and advised me to come in Monday. He even lent a loaner vehicle to me for the day while his Goodwill Repair covered the parts and labor. The car is now 100% and I have complete trust in this business. A++++! Do not let the previous review skew your opinions...they purchased a 150,000 mile vehicle and complained of a leak? Give me a break. Go see for yourselves, they are a great business and will treat you fairly. Thank you again San Diego Auto Sales.

I purchased my 2002 Jeep Liberty from San Diego Auto Sales over a year ago and wanted to post a good review after I had owned the vehicle for a while. I must say, I was please with the sales experience and have been extremely pleased with the Jeep over the last year. They were very helpful, honest, and answered every question I had. What sold me was their character. They had an older car that they were going to sell for auction when I was there. A gentleman came in while I was waiting and expressed interest in the car and the salesperson told him, you dont want that car we are selling it at auction when he could he just as easily given the guy a price. It takes an honest business to pass on a sales opportunity and do the right thing. My Jeep has been dependable. It has been on several trips through the Midwest and also through the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. I havent had to do anything to it other than keep the oil changed and change the brakes as a part of the regular maintenance. If you want a reliable vehicle that isnt outrageously priced, this is the place to buy. When I am ready for another vehicle, San Diego Auto will be my first stop. Thank you for the great experience and wonderful vehicle!

We bought a 2000 Jeep from this dealership, and they did not disclose any of the issues that were present. After only a week we started noticing issues and called to try and get things resolved. After several times of their so called mechanic "fixing" this issues with the oil pressure, it still exsisted. After taking it to another mechanic of our choosing it was found that the issues with the oil pressure were dire. After only having the vehicle for a few months we were forced to buy a new car. I attempted to talk to Dave about the issues we were having in a calm and collective manner, to which he yelled that my fiance was a trouble maker for putting up the review he did earlier about the poor service and quality of San Diegos vehicles. While screaming, and I talking in a calm and polite manner told me that I was intimidating him after I told him that I was unhappy with his service. Not only is San Diego an unsafe place to buy a vehicle, the customer service is terrible and the owner rude and verbally abusive offensive and insulting.
