Let me just say this...Ive been officially scared away from ever buying a used car again. Not just from this store, but from every store. I would have chalked our experience up to bad luck (cars break down sometimes, or need repairs, it -happens-), but more recently I have decided that we were pretty much sold either a lemon or this Superstore doesnt particularly take the time to be honest with the customer regarding what condition their car is in. Either that or theyre just too lazy to even look over their stock before putting it on the floor. We bought a car in 2012, first car that wasnt just a throwaway Craigslist thing. We were really excited, I brought along my dad, etc, to help us look. If its not obvious, were not very big "car" people - just wanted something that would run, look decent, and probably last us a couple of years. We were weaseled into getting the useless and expensive warantees and ended up spending much more than I had stated I even wanted to spend. But in the end, we got the car, and were happily driving off. Cut to a few months later, we started having issues with an engine light. Turns out one of the O2 sensors were bad. Replaced it. Six months later, another engine light. Other random stuff. This continued on, and I figured it was just bad luck. There was broken ABS due to the fact that it is -so- rusted that they couldnt replace a part to fix it without spending several hours drilling through the rust. And heres the kicker, what made me write this review - the other day we got a flat tire, sure, thats fine, we replace it with the spare and head home. Take it in to get it fixed and the mechanic tells us the entire time weve had the car weve had the wrong size of tires for our vehicle. Not only is this dangerous as all hell but it caused several of the tires to popcorn and be warped. Naturally were replacing them, out of pocket, with our own money. Thats 700 dollars because Coralville Used Car Superstore didnt even check to ensure that the car had the right kind of tires before selling it to us or they certainly knew and sold it to us anyway without even a notion of telling us. So theres that. Never buying from a used car store again, let alone this place. Ive learned my lesson. At least name brand dealerships have a quality to uphold, this place seems to only care about sales. Edit/Update: Car ended up breaking down about six months before we were done paying it off, went and got a new one from a much more reliable store. This company has called me before (obsessively even) and sent me quite a bit of mail, so its not like they dont know where I live or how to get a hold of me if they really wanted to make things right.

A smoke and mirrors show. The person I had an appointment with wasnt available. I got the shakedown from some rookie salesmen. He takes my credit application, steps out, comes back to go over my credit report in a concerned manner. like hes Ward Cleaver talking to the Beav. Yeah dude I know my credits not stellar (not awful either) that why Im looking for good used car in my stated price range. He takes me on a test drive in an inferior overpriced car. No problem. I was just checking. Thank you Ill stay in touch. Nice to know what my options are. Whew that wasnt so bad, But NO, wait, the show isnt over! Here comes the guy Im suppose to see to give me the REAL shakedown and star treatment. He sits me down in another booth. He twenty questions me. Deju vu. Didnt I already do this? He seems to want to alter what I want in order to get me to want something I dont, He suggests monthly payments like money grows on tree. Could you do this? How bout this? Hes leaving and coming back (he has a computer at his desk why does he need to leave to get" things? It seemed suspicious;he appears to think hes pretty slick. Neat)! Supposedly hes checking on this that and the other thing to come back with great news. Hes found this car that is way over my price range and desires(which Id already gone over). Well make it work for you because we can find a program that works for you!! More neat moments! Than there was more nonsensical friendly b*llshitting and random questions (more smoke screens to let your guard down). to commit to something you dont want. He introduced me to a finance guy. Great a supporting cast. We want you to make you feel comfortable with this buying decision. I was creep-ed out. He wasnt listening to me. He regurgitated everything I said to fit his desired goal of selling a car to me that I didnt want. Its been a long time since Ive shopped for a car. I wasnt look forward to it. I hoped I could get a good trusting experience, but the Iowa city market is overpriced and fraught with smarmy used car salesmen that live up to every used car salesmen stereo type. Nothing changes. I couldnt get out of there fast enough. I will never go back. Run dont walk from this dealer.

DO NOT GET A VEHICLE FROM HERE. I purchased my car from here about 5 years ago. First time I have ever purchased a car. 1. They sold me a totaled vehicle. I know, Im the idiot that signed the papers and actually bought a car from this place. To my defense, I asked the salesman if there was anything that currently needed to be fixed. He told me new tires wouldnt hurt and nothing else was wrong with it, "it was in great condition for how old it was". Later, I had noticed the A/C didnt work so he said they would fix that for me. Cool. A couple of months down the road, I take my car in for regular maintenance. I get a bill for 4,500. Heres some background, I bought a 1999 Chrysler 300M. The car was only worth maybe 2,000 at the time of purchase. (I was young and naive and purchased it for more than that.) So at this point its too late to return the car, right? So, I fixed it, and fixed it, and fixed it, and so on. If you buy a vehicle from here, you can congratulate yourself for throwing away your money. Even if you dont listen to my advice and buy a car from here, make sure to do your research before coming here. Look anywhere else before coming here. Of course, they will be "great", "helpful", "understanding", and seem knowledgeable, thats their job. They will try to take advantage of you and if you arent prepared, you will fall for their scheme.

I had a wonderful experience with the staff here. Brad was my sales consultant and he was very knowledgeable. I had been to several dealerships beforehand where they could not answer my questions concisely, or at all. However, Brad was able to answer my questions and explain many details about the vehicles, inside and out, that other dealers I worked with knew nothing about. He was also willing to go the extra mile for me and work out some financial details for me due to my situation and offer me the best deal. I could tell he took my business very seriously and I really appreciated it. He was by far the best car consultant Ive ever worked with. The manager, Josh, was also super nice. He went over the entire history of the car with me! and explained in depth what everything meant. Really awesome. I would recommend them to anyone I know.. And no this is not a fake review, I was just there today and havent made a decision yet on the vehicle I want.. But their customer care was excellent and I just wanted to express that, because since I started looking for a new vehicle I have had some not so good experiences at other places.
