I loved my dress, it was very beautiful and that is why I chose the bridal connection, simlpy because that is where I found my dress.I decided to buy my bridesmaid dresses and tuxes there as well in order to make it easier in having everything in one store. Once I bought my dress they treated me like crap. On one occasion I had an appointment and waited an hour and a half because they were letting girls who were walk-ins try on dresses for the first time. They are all about the sale, once youve bought the dress there is a no return policy and they dont care about you after youve forked over the money. They were all about pleasing the girls whom havent bought a dress from them in order to get the sale instead of being focused on thier customers whom have already bought thier dress. My bridesmaid dresses were set to come the day before my wedding they stated that they could put a rush on it so they could come a couple weeks earlier, but they didnt put a rush on it. When I asked if they had they treated me rudely. They did end up putting a rush on them, but they made a fuss about it. Two months before my wedding I was to get alterations on my dress. I was in the shop every two weeks for the last two months altering my dress because every time I was in there to try on my dress they did not have it completed, it was pinned together EVERY time! Finally they said theyd have it ready two days before my wedding, but the clerk said I couldnt try it on because "that is not how they do it. We dont let brides try their dress on after it has been pressed and steamed." The alterationist SUCKS! My dress was too long, I was stumbling over it as I walked down the aisle and throughout the night. My straps kept sliding off. And my bussel wouldnt stay bussled-Id make the slightest move and it would fall. One of my bridesmaid dresses didnt have a hook in the back to fasten shut so she had to sew one on herself. None of the tuxes fit any of the guys, the father of the grooms white shirt went to his mid forearm, so the measurements were way off not just slightly off. When we called them about it they said that there wasnt anything they could do. They tell you that the tuxes will come in the Tuesday before the wedding if your wedding is on a Saturday, no sooner. That is obviously not enough time to get everyone in to try on the tuxes beforehand, especially if they live out of town.My tuxes were in on a Wednesday, they said if the guys came in that day to try on the tuxes and needed alterations then the tux would be ready on Friday. If they came in on Thursday then thier tux would be ready by noon on Saturday. My wedding was on Saturday and my pictures were at 1:00PM, my wedding was not in Ankeny. Obviously not enough time. The father of the groom had to buy a white shirt from Wal-Mart for my wedding. Seriously?! Nuts! The Bridal Connection does not try to make anything convenient for you. If anything its a sick game to them to try to make your experience as inconvenient as possible. THEY ARE HORRIBLE! DO NOT GO THERE!

My experience at the Bridal Connection started with the search for my dress. I had scheduled two other bridal salons with the Bridal Connection being my first. A friend had her dress there and loved it. I found the possible dress of my dreams and wanted to be sure so my MOH, mom, and sister headed to Schaffers in WDM where the experience was AWFUL. Ill review them later. :) So of course, after a horrendous experience there, I called the Bridal Connection wondering when I could come back in to get the dress I knew was my dream dress. Unlike most salons, they didnt want to reschedule me and got me in immediately (of course I know they want the sale but it was still nice to be given flexibility). I immediately purchased the dress and have been in love ever since. I ended up getting my bridesmaids dresses there because they had the style I liked, the price was good and they got a discount for my bridal gown purchase. The dressed came in quickly - they were all a little big on my bridesmaids but nothing out of the ordinary considering some had weight loss, others had to measure off certain parts, etc. I also did our tuxedos there because they were the only salon in the area that had orange, not pasty or peachy orange, but true orange, in their collection. And they could get just about anything in. Everyone could call in measurements and the boys, too, got a discount because of my gown purchase. As for my gown, I still love it! Wedding isnt for a couple weeks but Im pretty confident about it. My attendants, Liz (helped me try on dresses) and Brianna are fantastic. Alterations are extremely well priced! Unfortunately, they had a seamstress fall ill and the alterations fell onto one person so when I came in for my final fitting, the alterations werent done. I was upset of course, but Id rather them not be done then need to be redone. Either way, that was quickly remedied by Brianna, my attendant, who wrote down every little thing that needed to be re-looked at plus about a dozen other things, even the smallest things that hadnt been on my original list. And rather than wait a couple more weeks, I was in within 3-4 days to retry the dress. She was amazing about it - even when I was feeling that bridal moment heat up. They store, press, steam etc your dress and have it ready! My friend and I are both pleased with their business! The owner, Lara, remembers me every time I am in and is always completely friendly - she was honest to a tee about the questions I had. Even when my mother was shopping for her dress, Lara was honest with her when she couldnt find what she liked and said that she was better off going somewhere else because their collection of Mother dresses was limited and often more expensive than what Mothers are comfortable in. I wouldnt expect that from the owner but she was great about it.

Lord have mercy stay away from this store. The first visit was wonderful they were so helpful. My bridesmaids wanted 2 dresses that were beautiful badly but the designer that makes them wouldnt have them here on time. The store owner assured us she could recreate these dresses NO PROBLEM. She assured us they would be the exact same no problem and here on time. Heck she acted like she was gonna whip them up right there herself! So after spending close to 2,000 dollars at this store we were then stuck and the nightmare began. I started calling in the middle of April and they assured me the dresses would be in any day now! Perfect, my wedding wasnt till May 20th. So I kept calling... any day was always the response. FINALLY the second week in to May I started to get nervous. This is when they revealed to us that the dresses were being shipped from China and it takes awhile. CHINA. They charged us designer prices for China made dresses. I kept my cool (as much as possible) because the attitude I was receiving from the store owner was less than pleasing and after reading other reviews I quite honestly didnt want her to sabotage me with the dresses. FINALLY THEY ARRIVED. They told me they shipped on a Wednesday FROM CHINA and BAM they magically appeared on Friday! Hot dog that was fast (they obviously had no idea where they were). My bridesmaids went to get their dresses .. alterations would be minimum if any because after all these girls were measured and they were putting together these miracle dresses out of no where (I still have the voicemail stating that - maybe not the miracle part). When they tried them on it was a disaster. You could tell they were not the same dresses and cheapily made. They were ALL two sizes if not more to big and shades off in colors. One of my girls breast cups were on her shoulders. Another they lengthened the straps of because they didnt think they would be long enough.. this made them to long and when they needed to be shortened they wanted to charge to fix their mistake. This isnt even all the details. All I have to say is do not let this place fool you. Go to Schaffers where you will be taken care of! When picking up my wedding gown all the girls there were mortified at the story I told them. Do yourself a favor and minimize your stress by going to Schaffers.. you wont regret it!
