Slow but friendly service. It has the "understaffed" vibe to it - workers are often (not always) hard to access because theyre in the back prepping someones meal. Be prepared to wait 5-15 minutes for a latte because chances are the staff will be have to work on something for someone else first. I have come here several times since their opening and this is a consistent issue, no matter what they say about changes in management made. That being said, Upland doesnt have many options so The Bridge is an important part of the community. They have fresh ingredients (though they always seem to have inventory issues), the coffee is fair trade, and the food is good... mostly. The grilled cheese is hardly cooked, if at all, and falls apart (every time Ive ordered it, though I finally gave up on it a couple months back, so maybe something has changed there?)... And it doesnt seem to matter how many times I ask for an extra hot latte, it always turns out just warm. The environment is nice and the pain au chocolate is to die for, assuming its available when you get there. In general the place feels like it needs someone with a business degree and experience to spruce up the general running of things. I understand this is typically an issue with new companies; it takes time to work out the kinks and get everything running smoothly... but it has now been two years and I havent seen much improvement. Props to the friendly workers who have to constantly inform people of inventory issues - theyre always so friendly! The issues with this place lie in management, not the shift employees.

Friendly but slow service, good atmosphere, mediocre coffee. Ive been coming here for a couple of years now and I used to be a barista --- it just depends on what youre looking for. If youre not in a hurry, want a step-up from gas station coffee, and like a peaceful coffee-shop environment The Bridge is perfect! If youre in a hurry, cant sick around, and want the best coffee, dont come here. I can speak with certainty that the iced coffee is always watered down and tastes old. Espresso drinks are good though, as long as you dont mind waiting 5-10 minutes for your drink. Ill continue to come to The Bridge and am thankful for it, considering the meager options in the area, but wouldnt recommend it for everyone.

The Bridge Cafe is seriously fire. My friend and I have a tradition where we come here every Sunday and hang out before church. The staff all know us by name and we have come to build relationships with them. They are extremely accommodating and friendly. I love my people at Starbucks but you cant quite get an experience like this at a chain. The ingredients are high quality, and I can easily satisfy my Paleo-vegetarian diet from ordering off the menu. Just order anything with pesto. Or anything.

The restaurant itself is nice. I have to give one star because the service is slow, food is way over priced for such plain ingredients, and the staff dont really care about the customer. Received a sandwich that was missing items and asked why I did not receive a complete sandwich. They told me they were out of those ingredients...Would have been nice to be informed of that when I ordered. If you are looking for a nice home town restaurant, I would recommend Paynes down the road.

During a college visit to Taylor with my daughter I had dinner and breakfast at The Bridge Cafe while she was occupied at the school. Wonderful and friendly staff, nice atmosphere. I had a flat bread pizza for dinner and the most amazing chocolate croissant for breakfast. Highly recommend checking out this locally owned business.

I love this place every time I come. Great grilled cheese, luxurious hot chocolate, sweet pastries. Theres free WiFi and traditional seating to eat or lounge seating for homework and casual hangouts. The perfect college off campus experience.

Great local business in downtown Upland! The coffee is not great however. Sometimes it can get pretty crowded because its the only coffee shop near Taylor University. Id recommend checking it out though, it has a great atmosphere.

It took nearly 30 minutes for them to prepare a chicken salad sandwich in a largely empty restaurant during lunch hours. The sandwich was good, not great, but certainly not worth a half hour wait.

Food was very good. They use local raised meat, and local produced eggs. Service was excellent. If your in the area its worth the stop. Dining area is unique.
