WORST EXPERIENCE - Very Pressured! My Sales Rep Name: LeeAnn Kearley Below is my experience: You could tell I was having a little trouble understand numbers, what was going on, and that I was also a little unsure at the same time. All you did was push and push... and to be honest, you gave me the worst experience I have EVER had when looking at buying a car. 1) This all started with the accident report the car I was looking at had. I kept asking for you to look that up for me. First of all... if you want to make a sale. BUY THE ACCIDENT REPORT FOR YOUR CLIENT! 2) I get there and its time for the test drive. Do you REALLY expect someone to know if they want to buy a car or not by driving it around the block? So that is when the pressure started... Ive driven the car just under 3 miles and you want to know if I want to buy it or not 3) We pull back into the parking lot and the first thing out of your mouth - so what do you think, want to start the financial app 4) Now youre throwing out a warranty to buy on the car and I told you I didnt want to do that because I already had the factory warranty and then I would buy an extended warranty on it later which I have done in the past on my last car. You were VERY against this. Something that seemed to bother me ANYTIME I grabbed my phone to get some advice from my parents, you always had a deep breath as if I was wasting your time. 5) Going on with "wasting your time" you had another client that was going to be coming in to buy a car. Now if I heard you correctly, you gave this client to someone else because you thought you were scoring a good deal on me... and with scoring a good deal, I am pretty sure youre paid on a commission 6) When I was second guessing what was going on and if I really wanted to do this, I asked you if I could wait and come back tomorrow - Friday - that way I could also bring my parents to check out the car and lead me into the right direction, you so no, that wasnt possible. 7) So in pictures I of the car I liked I kept seeing some scuffs that I wanted to know if CarMax could fix. You kept telling me youd ask a manager, but you kept skipping that until I finally said it again and made you go ask them. It looked like the scuffs were just dirt... but it was hard to tell in the dark, outside, and with snow still on the car. A little advice to CarMax OR you. How about you clean off the car of any snow and ice.... have the car presented and READY for the client to see the car under the lights so they can take a good look at the car. Did you do that? Absoutley not. 8) When all of this was going on as well, I was confused on when I would actually get the car. You said getting the car cleaned and all, I didnt know if I would get the new car that night or the following day, so I was confused when you were telling me to go clean my car out and take it around to the garage. You signed and moaned about this when I kept asking questions because I was a bit confused. 9) So I finally got my Mom to show up and take a look at the car. She said the same thing I have above. We were VERY pressured into buying this car. You would stand right next to us and not allow us to talk in private. We actually had to ask you, "Do you mind if we speak alone about this..." All we heard from you was.. "Uhhg, okay.. and you walked away with an attitude"... 10) THE WORST PART OF THE EXPERIENCE... Now I am guessing like I said above that youre paid off a commission on the sales that you do. So like I said above youre working with me, and it sounded like you passed someone else off to another sale rep.... which made you also loose that client commission as well. BUT, then you lost me.. when mean you walked away with $0 on the two clients you were supposed to have that night. And you know what... you sure as hell made that known. I was in the garage putting everything back into my car.. you walked by and didnt say a word. You walked past me again, DIDNT SAY A WORD.

I purchased a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland from CarMax of Indianapolis on 03/16/2015. I traded in a 2008 Cadillac CTS4, which I had purchased from CarMax as well. After about a month of having the vehicle, the CarMax business office called me and told me they were unable to come up with the title for the vehicle and I could not register for my plates or continue driving it. Keep in mind this is the day before my temporary plates are set to expire. They told me that they would provide a loaner car in which I could drive until they figure it out. After about a week of having the loaner vehicle I called back in to see the progress on the title, which I then got another story of why they do not have the title, got lost, it was old, etc. I then became very worried that I would have to make a car payment to Ally Financial of $456.00 and would not even be able to drive my Jeep. A couple of days before my payment was due I went back to CarMax to see about getting my Cadillac back, which was sitting on the lot for sale at the time. The answer to that was “we can’t return the vehicle because we have put too much money into it” same bald tires and giant scratch in the door selling for almost the same price that I bought it for over a year ago with an added 30,000 miles. Our next step was to do a return and then repurchase so that I could have an extra 30 days to get the title and they could give me new temporary plates. When this was done come to find out my credit score had dropped almost 50 points because of all the lenders they ran me through and putting the $30,000 for the Jeep on my credit report. They would only finance me for about two times what my interest rate was before or I could not drive the Jeep but continue to pay almost $500 a month for it until they “figured it out”. If I would have known that they were unable to produce a title for vehicles they are selling on their lot I would have just kept my car and went on about my life. Bottom line is a now have NO vehicle and have not had one for almost three and a half months. After Ally paid off my loan, my credit score had dropped almost 100 points. I cannot believe that a company like CarMax has the ability to do something like this. I am completely unhappy with CarMax and the people who work there. I’m glad they have got to make so much money off of me and yet I am left with absolutely NOTHING. I will be contacting BBB and my lawyer.

I bought from Carmax a Diesel car with extended protection. Since my car was under 30 days warranty some issues emerged and brought the car to Carmax as they advertised. I waited for 2.5 hours to be told that they cannot change the fuel filter because they dont have a "specific" device to perform this task. nevertheless a shop replaced the filter in 10 minutes, and no "specific " tool was needed. Other problems emerged and they had to take my car to a dealership in town to get it fixed. approx 8 months after buying the car I started to have problems again. I changed oil ( not a carmax facility) and the service guy said that there is a suspicious oil leak at the crankshaft. Also the car started to ran poorly and check engine light came on. I brought the car back to Carmax with a list of problems. Again, waited for 2 hours, and I asked for some feedback. I am told that "so far" they were able to erase the car computer and noticed that 4 codes appeared again. yes,in 2 hours they erased the codes and read again the car computer and pull 4 more codes:)) no one explored the oil leak. ok,I said, I could ve done that in 10 minutes. My car is not drivable so I need a replacement. Well the jaw dropping answer was: we cannot give you a replacement, because even if we have some codes, we cannot point to a certain part that needs replacement, and your extended coverage plan will not cover untill we tell them what part needs to be replaced. I asked for the codes myself and immediately I goggled them and I got 4 parts associated with the code requiring intervention. When I confronted the front desk person with this info he finally told me that they dont have a"diesel" mechanic so they cannot do anything on my car. Needs to go to a dealership. However, even if my car is not drivable, and I bearely drove it to Carmax, they never offered a car or a rental. Just wanted to share this so people may be aware! Why are you selling Diesel cars if you dont have a certified mechanic for this cars? When this car breaks down, why are you not arranging to accomodate customers with a car untill you fix your own problem. Never expected this from a company of such magnitude!!! it is rude, it is unprofessional, and the manner of solving the problem is childish!
