Having been a regular of this place for 3 years, I think its time I finally left a review for THE place for all my coffee (and often my lunch) needs! When I moved to the area the first thing I looked for was a locally owned coffee house, and this place fit the bill. Im now here several times a week. This place is a great locally run business with awesome owners and staff. Theyre very positive people and I get a comfy vibe when Im there, and I always get to chat with the staff and many other regulars that come in. If youre not a coffee aficionado, let them know and they will help you find something youll enjoy! (Or tea! Or a smoothie!) They have amazing doughnuts (some are vegan, but youd never know it) on the weekends from another Indy-local business, as well as their own breakfast pastries, and breakfast/lunch sandwiches (soups in the fall on Fridays!) They have carnivore or vegetarian options. I love their grilled cheese and always get extra cheese. Just do it. Youll thank me. Local art adorns the walls and is rotated on occasion, and nearly all of it is for sale. I own several pieces Ive seen there! They roast locally, and their coffee is often used in several breweries around town in special coffee-themed beer, showing that local businesses are fans of theirs, as well! I want to address one last thing: Another review complains about not being able to bring in outside food and drink...but if you know how restaurants work, well, thats how they all work. I hate that anyone would give a negative review because they dont understand how businesses work, but you know, the internet. Anyway. Money spent here is worth every penny.

Who in the world puts signs all over their door saying no outside drinks etc? Its just a coffee shop! Ive never been to a restaurant or shop that cares if someone brings in outside food or drink...as lets be real, not everyone likes everywhere! Seems like nothing more than a way to squeeze extra money out of people in a group that would be otherwise fine. Last, the place isnt busy, so its not like they are losing revenue by there not being room for people to sit. Ok coffee...but not run in small town Indiana style (ironic given they display they are local and independently owned...)

You know, Im not sure what I was expecting. But I was pleasantly surprised nonetheless. Its comfortable and relaxing, not overwhelmingly pretentious like a lot of coffee shops. And they have a lot of really good options for people like me who dont like coffee (and ironically ended up in a coffee shop). Its just a place that you want into and simultaneously think "I want to work here" and "I want to live here". We got our drinks to go but stayed to finish them anyway.

(Can I rate it more than 5 Stars?) I cant believe someone would compare them to Starbucks. I mean this is LOCAL, FANTASTIC coffee. This place is what a coffee shop SHOULD be. Dont get me wrong, I can drink Starbucks all day long - but this is by far my favorite. I love sitting in Strange Brew for the atmosphere and the service. If youre just walking in to grab a drink then you definitely wont have the same experience. I love Strange Brew!

Great local coffee shop! Staff is very friendly and the coffee is fantastic. The poor review below is right, its NOT starpukes.. thank heavens! The coffee is not harvested using child labor like the for mentioned, its not outrageously priced like the for mentioned AND they arent a nationwide chain. Strange Brew has obviously put their own personal touches into their atmosphere and coffee! Good job guys!

I was meeting someone here for a quick meeting, and it was my first time in. LOVED IT. The staff was friendly, tea and bagel were great, and its a fun, calm atmosphere. I wish I lived closer so it could be go-to spot, but Ill just have to settle for stopping in whenever Im going through Greenwood. Definitely give this place a try.

I generally have good experiences and give good reviews, but because of my experience with the incredibly rude baristas here, I have to give it a 1/5. It is completely unnecessary to talk to people in the way they spoke to me and my girlfriend. Im glad I didnt give this place any of my money, and I wont be back.

Good little coffee shop for the area. The young staff were nice and helpful. The decor is all just random though, it seems like a youth group hang out from my high school days. The coffee specials (we had 2 different ones ) were so sweet, I couldnt taste anything but sugar and chocolate.

I have been gone for quite some time and am glad to see this place is still around. They were super friendly and helpful. I told them I was indecisive and they explained several of the drinks. I ended up getting a "Blonde bombshell". It was SO GOOD. I will be back as much as possible.

Love the ambiance of the coffee house. Its very eclectic, kinda eccentric, but very welcoming and friendly. The staff is always friendly and I personally think the coffee selections are delicious. Its so nice to see locally owned independent shops flourishing in the area.

Easily the best coffeehouse in Greenwood, they make excellent coffee and have plenty of comfy seating. Great for small meetings over a cup of coffee for me, or if I want to get out of the house to get some work done. Awesome artwork, as well!

Love Strange Brew. Great atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and great coffee and food. Its comfortable enough to set up for awhile, quick enough to just pop in, and there is something for everyone on their expansive menu.

I have been all over the US, and this is one of the best coffee shops that I have visited! Friendly staff, great coffee, and one the best "coffee house" environments. Great for studying, surfing the web, or hanging with friends. A+

Strange Brew is one of the hidden gems of the southside. Free wi-fi, local artwork, friendly staff, and an occasional concert make it the perfect spot to kick off the morning, work, or relax after a long day.

No bubble tea and they havent had it for a while, they tell me. At least they were polite about it. A pox on Google and its app for sending me all the way here for nothing, however.

A very unlikely little gem, considering its location in one of the saddest looking shopping centers Ive ever seen. They make a mean cafe breve, the music is good, and its very cozy.

Great local coffee shop. Owners are friendly (as long as your not being a douch) and their staff is knowledgeable. Lots of options even for non-coffee drinkers, like my 2 yr old.

Dont let the bland strip mall storefront fool you: this place is a beautifully decorated quirky cozy coffeehouse on the inside! Good coffee and tasty food/treats.

The staff are always so welcoming and helpful! They have pumpkin cream cheese muffins year round, which I think it the greatest thing ever.
