Homer Simpson comes to mind when you see Donut Centrals sign. The round donut, pink icing with sprinkles seen in homers hand - it could be their intention since the Donut is the same Donut seen in the TV series "The Simpsons". As you approach the building the hours on the door - Monday thru Saturday 6am - 2p. These hours prevent business from purchasing donuts for employees before 6am, a terrible decision for business I think. More money to be made earlier in the morning. Dont worry there is another place in town who allows you to buy donuts super early. When you walk in the space seems large and welcoming although youre not hit with the smell of donuts like youd expect. Why?? Are the donuts not made here, maybe their trucked in. As you turn the corner youre in front of a small counter. If a large group or lines formed it could become contested. When deciding on the donuts the ones in front of you arent the ones you get or wasnt in our case, but the donuts were taken from the racks behind the case which dont look as good as the ones in your face. The seating area is painted with inspirational sayings and large flowers. On the wall is large scrabble tiles allowing you to make words. Great idea! I visited moments after they opened (6am) and just a few people were in line. The staff was very friendly and greeted us. It is exciting to walk into a new business seeing the donuts all lined up ready for the picking. The donuts are priced from $1.20-$1.40 but it is cheaper to "mix" them and get the dozen. The box the donuts are packed in is a standard white box with no markings. Maybe later theyll get something stamped on it. Giving it just a bit more Pizzazz to the experience. The donuts are small compared to what Im use to but still make your mouth water. The cinnamon nut rolls are thin and the maple icing leaves an after taste with a hint of grittiness. Although it was okay to eat it does appear to be frozen dough!!! If you love lemon filled - youll want to get the powered lemon filled donut. Overall experience is what Id expect, normal taste with no wow factor. Lets be honest its simple donuts! Im still loving Donuts N Coffee off State St. I wish them well, as this business is still growing from its early start.

We arrived at 6 am as they were opening on Sat morning. My children loved the large viewing window. The staff were still hand cutting the dough and making what I think was blueberry fritters. We watched for about 10 min. The staff smiled and waved at us and seemed to enjoy an audience. This alone was a treat for all of us but then we picked our donuts. I chose a cinnamon nut roll ( loaded with peanuts) my preteens chose chocolate cake with fruity pebbles and a long John with crumbled crispy bacon with maple icing. The donuts were so yummy, we ate them as soon as we got in the car. I also ordered a sweet Nitro and my husband had a Tinker coffee. Both were exceptional. The staff was very personable and greeted us warmly, thanks for coming to Columbus Donut Central.

As a doughnut lover who has tried and tested many different doughnut shops in Indy (and the only other one in Columbus), I would say that this place rates pretty high. The glazed yeast doughnuts have a nice airy consistency, with a beautiful pinch when you bite down and a good chew. Some of their specialty doughnuts can be pretty standard and nothing fantastic though. Cons: I felt a little rushed in buying (even though nobody else was in the shop), and the lady got confused- rang us up and gave us an extra doughnut even though we kept specifying that we didnt want it. But I wasnt complaining! All in all, they are delicious and Columbus has needed abother doughnut shop for a long time... But nothing really compares to Longs doughnuts (who does, really?).

I believe that today was there opening day. Arrived at 0730 and there was already a very long line. Once I made it to the counter, I ordered a dozen mixed variety of yeast doughnuts. The employee told me that they only had glazed and vanilla iced with sprinkles available. There were several people working in the kitchen. I think they just need to learn over time how much of each kind to make. The doughnuts were very good and the other items on the menu looked interesting. I plan to visit again and Im sure they will work things out.

Let me start with how amazing the donuts are, they have a large amount of flavors and offerings, from nutella donuts to bacon flavored, they are simply amazing. But the best part is the staff! Customer service in this place is probably the best Ive seen in Columbus bakeries. Definitely worth it!! My only complain may be that they close at 2 PM and sometimes I would love to have a coffee and a donut in the afternoons after work.

I did enjoy the visit and the donuts were good, but in their first week, they still have some growing pains to work out. Plenty of staff, but lines move slowly. Latte was served ³/⁴ full. Large coffee was pricey at $3 and the refill carafes were empty. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Even in their first week they are the best donut shop in town, but still have a ways to go. Ill try again in a week or two.

Coffee was a pleasant surprise! They brew Tinker beans from Indy, which are arguably the best in the state, so this coffee snob can finally get a high quality cup in Columbus. Two types of nitro cold brew on tap, excellent service, oh and dont forget the amazing rotating selection of unique and classic donuts!

Their donuts are tasteless. Their chocolate cake donut with chocolate icing didnt even taste like chocolate. I have been 3 times and have tried several different donuts and they all taste the same. So disappointed as the shop is cute as a button. Donuts are a little pricy too.

These donuts are truly inspirational! Each bite was its own adventure of vibrant taste and texture. To wash down these delightful confections was a truly decadent Nitro coffee, with fruit and chocolate notes. I will tell all I know of this experience.
