I read the reviews for the Bicycle Garage and they seemed to be a mixed bag of emotions and experiences. They almost kept me from going in and checking the place out, what a mistake that would have been! I am an absolute beginner in the world of mountain biking and the guys at Bicycle Garage made me feel more than comfortable and were nothing short of awesome. I told them my budget ($400) and told them everything I could think of about where I ride/want to ride... Within 10 minutes they had a brand new montain bike adjusted to fit me and sent me off on a test ride. I fell in love with the bike and with the shop and their customer service. I will never buy a new bike anywhere else. I am even going to take my daughter in and get her started off on the right track with a great bike from a great store. My only regret is that we bought my wifes bike from a big box store over by the mall. For the same money we could have bought twice the bike and received twice the customer service. Live and learn...(my wife is jealous of my bike now)! Thank you Bicycle Garage! You have a customer for life!!

Was on the fence about BG until now, they really sold me. Dropped off my Trek Stache I had just purchased (secondhand) for a brake bleed. Long story short the guy had put the wrong fluid in the brakes rendering them useless. The guys at the shop did 2 1/2 bleeds because they were puzzled at first until realizing the issue. They were able to finish before I expected. (Dropped off Monday right before close got it Wednesday right after close.) They stayed late so I could get my bike and replace the brakes with old ones had and was able to get on the road for our trip to Michigan! In total charged me $20 for labor on im sure was a 2ish hour job.

Very serious about what they do. Very knowledgeable and honest people that work here. They tuned up my decade-old Mongoose bike no problem. Also, they kept in mind my budget-conscious mindset and gave me a great value on two Bontrager tires to replace my old ones. My only wish is that they were a little friendlier. I mean I did just shell out about $100 for the repairs; the least I can expect is one smile right? Im a serious person myself but theyd get that extra star if they toned down their seriousness a bit and were more customer-service oriented.

This place is awesome! Not only is the staff knowledgeable and great mechanics, they have talent too. So not only are you getting your bike worked on by experienced people, but youre getting information from successful cyclist. This place only has the best working there and it definitely shows. I wouldnt consider any other shop. If youre going to shop in Bloomington, just stay away from Revolution Bike and Bean. You can trust everyone else, but Bike Garage is the BEST!

My experience is limited to shopping for parts to fix my own bike. In general, my experience has been positive. While Ive only been in and out for small things, they have helped me quickly and in a profession manner. I bought a tire from them, which was damaged within the warranty time and they replaced it free of charge (I didnt even realize there was a warranty). The hours are a bit limited, but I have no complaints otherwise.

Ive never been so unhelped in my life. I did tons of research while looking into buying my first bike that didnt come from a big-box store. When I went in the store to pose a few questions and explain what I was looking for the salesman pointed to the road bike rack and the hybrid rack, said I probably wanted to choose between one of those (which I already knew) and walked away. I walked out and wont ever be going back.

I am new to cycling and stopped by this store to discuss switching to clipless pedals and purchasing shoes, cleats, pedals, etc. They were not helpful at all and rather seemed quite annoyed that I even asked for their help. I went to another store in town and was incredibly happy with my experience. I would not recommend going to this place unless you are a seasoned cyclist.

I called every other bicycle shop in Bloomington, and they didnt have what I needed for some reason, but when i went to the Bicycle garage, not only did they have what I needed, but it was a lot cheaper than others. The employees were super helpful, and knew what they were doing! If youre looking for a part and need it now, Bicycle garage is where its at! - Jon W

I dont know whats standard for bike shops, but my boyfriend had his intertube changed at this shop and it popped the next day. When he went back, they refused to aknowlege that they had just fixed it and wanted to charge another $10-15 to fix it. He refused the service and fixed it himself. My boyfriend still shops there, but I prefer another bike shop in town.

Talk about amazing! Fred was onsite at the RAIN rest stops doing volunteer repairs! He changed my friends broke spoke in no time so she could finish the ride! What a giving mechanic and company! I cant wait to visit the shop if thats the kind of customer service they provide!

Ive had varying degrees of quality with them. The last experience I had it took them two days longer than expected to replace my chain and tighten an axle and the job they did was so shotty it broke my derailer.

A top rate bike shop! I ride a recumbent an the staff has been very helpful with my more technical repair. Free parking in the back of store, roll your bike right into the repair shop. Great!
