Just gonna share the details and leave the emotion out of it. You be the judge. On 7/28/17 I dropped off my SUV because I needed new wheels. I worked with the crew to find a good set for me, at that point we ordered them and I was told they would be in 3-5 days. I waited until the following Thursday to follow up, the guy told me 3-5 days. I was confused and said I was told that 4 days ago and am checking in. They said they would call me back, I never received a call back. The next day I called back and asked what was up, they said 3-5 days. I said I ordered these last Friday and needed to know what was up. They said they would call me back, I asked him to promise since I was told the same thing and never got a call. Hello promised, and broke the promise. No call. I called on Monday, they said 3-5 days, I hung up and drove in there to see my SUV on the lift and wheels set next to it. I asked what was up and he said it was a problem with the current lug nuts being too big for the new wheels. He ordered the parts and it came in today. The problem is he only ordered 24 lug nuts when my vehicle (that was sitting there for almost 2 weeks) calls for 7 lug nuts per wheel. To top it all off the bill was $200 more than what I was quoted and the only "sorry" I got was a $35 managers discount. Thats my story, take it for whats its worth.

Never wrote them a review. Needed to. For a lot of work and for Warranty purposes my car goes to Patrick BMW in general for service. But for tires, rotations and brakes etc. I always bring it here. They put my Brembo brakes on without a hiccup. They have changed me wheels and dismounted tires without a scratch. These guys are good. If you need work done for a good price I recommend them. My Smart car has been here as well at one point. Im a Costco member as well still choose PepBoys for tires. My Mini tends to go through tires a little faster than most cars. Regardless of the rating. They have a good price and Coopers. The tire has been great so far. The car sticks better than the Continetals going into another season! So short story. I understand warrantys and getting service for your car. Im documenting all my oil changes with the dealer for that purpose but anything not covered or for a better price. They are worth going to and have been my first resort.

This past weekend my family was in the Chicago area for a cheer competition During our time there our car was overheating. Looking for the closest car repair shop - this location was the best bet Or so we thought Your "mechanics" put my car on a lift and ran some "test" and told my husband that my car was undriveable and the head gasket would need to be replaced at the tune of $3,000 and it wouldnt be done for three days. Well we drove this undriveable car the whole from Chicago to Detroit - without one single issue no coolent leaks ... Nothing ... And the day after we are still driving the car ... With not ONE single issue I would like to think maybe there was gross negligence on behalf of your mechanics versus some folks trying to take advantage of a family that is not from the Chicago area Beware total scammers here!!!! Do not trust a single word they say ... You could be out a lot of money that is not even necessary

Please read before visiting this PEP BOYS. In 2014 I paid for three recommended services for my car. It took about three hours for them to finish everything. Right after I receive my keys to my car I notice a little difference when driving it. I ignore it for sooo many months that eventually something little turned into a big difference. My car was jerking so hard you could hear it go "thump" if you was driving behind me.So I took my car to a transmission shop and guess what? My car was missing 2 quarts of transmission fluid. To sum the story up I recently went to pep boys again for another service and guess what? Transmission fluid start leaking out of it again. Luckily this time I know how my car act when there is no transmission fluid in it. I took it right back to them and idk what they did but it stop leaking. So I will advise everyone before leaving this shop check all fluids and keep checking them.

I just took my car up to this pep boys because my car was overheating. Charged me $700 for a new radiator. Picked my car up and now the check engine light is on, they claimed i needed a tune up with was another $500 when I complained that my check engine light wasnt on and my car wasnt making these noises before I brought it in. Later that night my car stopped on me again and now their claiming its a head gasket thats causing the overheating n that my engine is about to blow. Idk what they did to my car but ladies beware.....NEVER EVER GO HERE WITHOUT A MALE CAUSE THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU AND MESS YOUR CAR UP WORSE JUST TO GET YOU TO SPEND MORE MONEY WITH THEM

Do not bring your car here. My car was perfectly fine before I brought it in for an oil change here. I came back for my car and the guy tells me there is a high pitched noise when reversing, which I had never heard coming from my car. He told me it was something to do with the brakes and that it would be $600 to fix. About a week later my brakes have gone to shit and Im pretty sure they did something to the brakes to get more money from me. They are a bunch of crooks.

My car died in the middle of the road and I had it towed here on a whim. They called me to tell me the initial quote and problem in a very timely manner, and were able to install a battery for me from a different place without any issues. I also dropped my phone in the parking lot and they picked it up for me and had it waiting when I came back. Friendly, fast and fair place to take your car :)

My sister was traveling on the Fourth of July weekend and her brake lights went out. I found this store on the internet and gave her the address and directions. In 5 minutes they had her lights fixed and charged less then $10.00. She said they were very professional and courteous. She was very happy because she said it was much cheaper than a ticket. She highly recommends them

People, its a Pep Boys! If you are coming here for MAJOR work, you have nobody to blame but yourself. They do great work, but they specialize in the typical flat-rate kind of work stuff...alignments, oil changes, rotations, etc. I would not use them for anything else, as that is what a traditional mechanic is for!

Took my car in because it was making a strange noise. They failed to notice that one of my wheels was completely missing a brake pad, and that the rotor was badly damaged. I had to take it to another shop to find this out. Id suggest taking your car elsewhere. Itll save you money and headaches.
