This is a great store, the staff is SO knowledgeable and whether youre introducing yourself to something new or stocking up on familiar gear, this can be your first stop. The REI house brand has improved their quality quite a bit and is a real value. My only negative is that they dont carry Outdoor Research gear (or very little) which is my preference. Oh, and I buy a lot of leisure clothing there, the shirts and shorts are especially nice, even though these are not strictly speaking "gear". Call first to get an expert to guide you through your purchases, the staff knows the whole inventory except for a few experts in specialized territory. Yeah, the one in Denver and even in Boulder is way better, but for the prairie state this is choice!

REI used to be something of a specialty store, with passionate and knowledgeable employees that always set you up as best they could. Now, I find that many of the employees are not really enthusiasts of the gear they sell, or particularly helpful. REIs focus is now to sell more North Face fleeces and non-specialty items, and this change in focus appears to have eroded the atmosphere of old. If shopping for outdoor gear, Id sooner go to Dicks sporting goods, where at least you dont always pay full price. Also, since changing their return policy, I have twice been made to feel like a criminal when making honest returns. The old policy used to be a motivator to pay REIs full retail prices... Not anymore.

I am extremely disappointed in the customer service I received at this location. I am from out of town and made an extended visit to pick up a bicycle for my son. Once I got to the store, the bike was not assembled, which I expected because when I spoke to a customer service rep on the phone he said it would take 30-40 minutes once I picked it up from the store. While at the store I was told that it would take up to weeks to assemble and that I could not assemble it on my own. It was a childrens 16 inch bike, that would take a half hour to assemble!!!! I was told there was nothing they could do. I am extremely disappointed.

REI is a good place to go in a pinch for last minute gear. They are highly overpriced but they are a co-op. Most all the team members are friendly, but sometimes their staffing ratios dont quite meet the needs of their customers during peak times. Example is that theyll have one person per section helped one person in great detail but no one else. (Not meant to insult the workers). The REI products are good under their name brand. If you can order it on-line youll save 40%. If you need it now, go to REI.

I would have bought a pair of Merrell boots from REI except they dont price match; not even the manufacturer Merrell which sells the same boot on their website for $40 less than REI. And who doesnt price watch, whats up with that? I could understand not price matching some no-name internet store...but you wont even price match the manufacturer of the product. Bad store, I will not be making any future purchases from this store.

My favorite store, bar none. I am a little disappointed at how small this particular branch is, but their staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and for the most part not all of them jump to sign you up for dividends (I am already a member). I wish the selection was a bit better for the water bottles and Co-op items. Even if small, it is close to home, so that says something and you can always order it online!

Every time I have been to this location I have had a fantastic experience. Most recently I had lost a key to my Yakima roof rack that was purchased from REI over a decade ago. I called Yakima and they were unable to replace the key with the serial number - which is on the key. REI brought out their master keys and tried every one until we found a match. Amazing customer service that goes above and beyond!

I went to return some shoes and bought a new pair. I am not a member but when I was on my way home the box opened and the receipt flew out. I called Bethany and she worked on how to get me a receipt. She called me back within 5 Minutes and had the issue resolved and also was willing to mail it to me. I am so grateful for Bethany and REI. I would continue to go there and tell others.

This place has everything youd need for outdoor endeavors and more. I bought a kite here one windy day because it was the only place in a 20 mile radius that sold them. Why dont more places sell kites? What happened to kites? Anyways, their selection was pretty good. Sort of pricey, but that pays for quality over Made in China garbage online that would last you half a flight.

REI is a great place to get some quick 15-20% above priced items. I have found the staff have a good knowledge base but only for some of their particular items they want to sell. Their return policy, which is often abused, is unsurpassed in comparison to any other retail outfitting store. The lifelong vs recent 1 year return policy has decreased my retail purchases.

Aside from the entrance being on the back(away from the main road) is a well laid out store. The staff was friendly and knew where everything i asked for was located. It seems a bit smaller than the other REIs that I have been to and looks as if it would have a much smaller selection but I assure you that you will be pleasantly surprised. Give this store a shot.

Every associate was nice and helpful. One associate Terry in particular helped us find the correct pack for through hiking. He gave us tips for the best placement and even weight distribution. He helped us make sure that the pack was the right size and fit. Very knowledgeable and helpful. I havent had customer service like that in years. Thank you Terry!

Wanted to rent some XC skis for my buddy who was visiting from out of town. I was told that unless I was going to ski "somewhere up North", I couldnt rent them because I could damage them. Guess what - every XC ski trail in the area is open with at least a 4-6" base. If you are going to restrict where you rent, get your facts straight. So pissed.

I called the sore to find if they had a Garmin foot pod in-store. The person on the phone went and found the item and took my name so it could be held at the front counter for me. It happened to be the last one. REI is a great place to find above normal items at competitive prices. The service was excellent and the line moved quickly.

I ordered a bike online, shipped it to the store for free. Since I live an hour an half away employees at the location assembled my bike the same day that they received it. So I didnt have to wait 2 days extra for the assembly. Everyone was nice and helped me out with any questions. Great store and great customer service

The selection at this site has been suffering as of late, though the staff is amazing. You as a customer have access to years of outdoor type lifestyle experience. The quality of product sold, especially clothes has diminished and the overall availability of items in this particular store is not as great as it once was.
