I just want to point out right off the bat, Ive been a regular to the coffeehouse for at least 4 years. I have been a big supporter and have tipped on almost every order, but if not I always tip at least per visit. Today I wanted to mention that I will no longer be a patron of this place. Although I enjoyed the food, the coffee, and the crew, the owner is a horrible person and is the sole reason I will not come back. Out of nowhere and asked me if i ordered anything besides a water. I had told him I ordered a coffee and meal several hours ago. He then realized I was a regular, noting that he recognized me as a regular and then walked off, no apology for being accused as a freeloader. I was incredibly embarrassed after all the business I gave them over the years and the recommendations I gave to friends and acquaintances. I am hoping that someone else will take over the establishment, because I will not come back until then.

The food is good, but service terribly slow. We went for lunch on 11/11/15, and the place only had about 10 people, five of whom were just having coffee--not ordering food. It still took 30 minutes to get our food. Mind you, this is at noon when they should be expecting a lunch crowd. Obviously, the locals know not to come here for lunch. Another problem: for a coffee house, they only have sugar and sweet n low for sweeteners. The most popular sweeteners--Equal and Splenda-- are not provided. Update: eat there again last week (late February 2016). Six patrons, one order in front of mine. Took 11 minutes to get my food---pretty good. It was hot and tasty. Well done. Still no other sweeteners other than sugar and Sweet n Low. I asked worker if there was any other sweeteners (anything behind the counter) and she said no. Theyve always been limited to sugar and sweet n low. So I went to the Coffee Hound for a great latte with splenda.

Vegan Review - Options: Several. I got tofu scrambles and a few types of burgers here once. I believe there are gluten free and vegetarian options as well. - Quality: The food isnt anything spectacular. - Prices: Fairly low - Portion Size: Moderate. I eat more than the average person, so I usually get a smaller meal with one of the regular meals. - Atmosphere: Many people are here on their laptops or reading books. Can spend all day here drinking coffee and eating lunch. Bathrooms are a little messy. - Service: You order at the front and your food is served to you. Didnt take very long for the meals to be prepared. - Store hours are slightly misleading, sometimes they close the kitchen early if no one is ordering dinner. Call a few minutes before going to see if theyre still serving.

The food is delicious! The old veggie burgers were my favorite, the menu is huge, and there are daily specials. One note, it can take a while to get your food, so if you have a short lunch call ahead your order - - they will make it in 15 minutes. As a vegetarian, I really love the Coffeehouse! Update: for no sane reason, they switched their veggie burger mix :( To get the original mix, ask for the veggie sausage. Unfortunately the sausage patty will be smaller than the burger patty used to be.

This was hands-down my favorite coffee bar in Normal. Truth be told, the Coffee Hound has technically superior drinks (they draw in the foam or whatever). The Coffeehouse really stands out with its atmosphere, though - you will have more fun and get more of the local Normal flavor at the Coffeehouse. Plus, the breakfast croissant sandwiches rule! And the Red-Eye Thai espresso! Ah, I could go on and on, this is defintiely the coffeeshop to visit if you had to do just one in Normal.

I like this place for two reasons 1) as a vegetarian I can eat everything on the menu without worry and 2) the atmosphere/location are awesome. Beyond that the place could use some work. The food is over priced for what you get. The staff could be more consistent (both chefs and servers) and awake. That said, the Red Eye Thai is one of the best things Ive ever drank, the fries are (usually) pretty amazing, and I love to study here.

Less expensive and more chill than other coffee places near by. Plus lots of space. Bigger than Coffee Hound and Garlic Press Cafe combined. They have an entirely vegetarian (some vegan) menu, but even if you are an omnivore you will love their food. In a town like Normal, places like this are hard to come by.

Its like this place was decorated 20 years ago in the cheap, with no updates since. Tired, worn out. Seems like they stopped trying. Ordered the breakfast sandwich, and the scrambled egg component was the kind that a hotel buys pre-made and just microwaves. Staff was friendly, though.

My daughter used to work here and I never visited before now. I didnt know what I was missing! We stopped by here trying to kill time between meetings and wow, the food was fantastic. Coffee, of course, was great. Reasonably priced food and fun staff.

This is THE place to go for an awesome vegetarian meal or simply to kick back and relax with a cup of coffee and a book. It has a totally chill laid back atmosphere...its my favorite Sunday morning spot!

I really appreciate the atmosphere the Coffeehouse provides the community! The coffee is roasted in house and the baked goods are amazing. I suggest the pumpkin bar and the cranberry orange scone.

Good coffee. Enjoyed my soysage sandwich. Walking distance from the train station. Not the most dazzling decor, but I really just wanted breakfast before I left Normal. Id go back.

Great coffee for a great price! Also, a plethora of vegetarian/vegan food when compared to the rest of the town, which is short on that type of food being a college town.

Quit, comfortable, and inviting. Fare is priced reasonably. Great spot summer or winter. Hosts small shows every blue moon. Check out the notice board for local events.

Large coffee bar with a breakfast and lunch menu. Food is enjoyable and they can make many different drinks. Plus they have a large baked goods selection with pastries.

The food is good and all vegetarian, which is fantastic. Coffee/tea drinks are ok. My friend had to wait a long time for her lunch. Its reliably tasty and vegetarian!
