The older gentleman who works here is a real jerk. I came in to order a few lbs. Of boarshead meat and would like cheese also. I asked if they sell cheese too. He said im making sandwiches you will have to wait. He said you have to pick one. Im like one what? I can wait for the meat. Im patient. There goes your loss of my business. The first time I came he handled money and phone and made sandwiches with his gloves still on. This is disgusting. I canceled my order now on my 2nd trip. Walked out. Never going back. Shame on this rude man.

To merely label this establishment as a deli doesnt do it justice. The beer selection is far superior to any Wal-Mart type superstore, with special attention paid to craft beers. In addition to this, the Deli Lama boasts a well stocked walk-in humidor and the sandwiches are always delicious. Furthermore, the owner (Darren)s ability to make the customer feel welcome is truly refreshing. If you havent made a point to stop by, you dont know what youre missing.

This is my favorite place in Lake Villa! Whether youre looking for a Deli sandwich, cold beverage, alcohol (any imaginable kind just about), or even quality tobacco, this is your local store. Darren (the owner) always has good advice, offers a sample of his newest products, and tries his best to find me any beverage I ask about. Go for one of the best sandwiches Ive ever had, ask him some questions, and you too will shop here weekly.

Showed up at 9:10 trying to get a sandwich and the owner said the kitchen was shutdoen originally, i guess he took pity on me and changed his mind, Boars Head turkey and pepperjack was awesome, will be coming back, the other poster with bad experience is a fluke or impatient person imo. Also the cleanliness of the store was beyond reproach. Thanks Deli Lama for a choice other than fastfood, reminded me of new york deli shops. :)

Sort of a convenience store/liquor store (with an impressive selection of wine) /cigar humidor and Deli counter all in one store. The Owner is awesome cool guy, hand makes really good sandwiches using quality ingredients like Boars Head meats and house made dressing, tuna and egg salad. Limited seating, but super clean and friendly. Great bang for your buck! Very reasonable prices on the sandwiches and the wine.

I have only recently found this place, though its not far from my house. It was a bit of a surprise when I drove up and saw it is mostly (by square footage) a wine & fine spirits store (probably the best in the area), so I wasnt sure I was in the right place. Great bread, great spreads, great meats, fresh veg... whats not to like? Ive not tried delivery yet. I see that they deliver everything.

I come here for lunch often. The quality of meats and breads (Boars Head) are excellent and always fresh. Darin the owner is always friendly and creates new fresh menu items to try such as potato salad and yogurt. There an enormous selection of beers, wines, cigars and liquors to choose from here. I am definitely not wanting when I come to visit. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Owner was so personable and friendly - my wife and I chatted with him the whole time! Hes super passionate about his craft and you could tell - all the food behind the counter is homemade (ask about the yogurt!) and its delicious and very reasonably priced. The store also has a great craft beer selection as well. Its certainly worth a visit - or two!

Just opened, and thumbs up so far! They have really good soups, and sandwiches made from Boars Head products and fresh bread. They also have a great selection of craft beers in their "Beer Cave" and I think one of the only walk-in humidors with fresh cigars in the area. I live close by, and will most likely make this place a regular go-to!

I come here for lunch a few times per week. The quality of the food is always 100% and extremely delicious. The owner takes a lot of pride in his store and always cares for his customers / learns names of his regulars. I always recommend to friends to stop by for food or beer. His selection of cigars and beers is off the hook as well!

Super delicious sandwiches and great local selection of wine, ciders, beer, liquors etc. They also deliver all of the above! The guy that runs it is there most of the time and super friendly. One of my favorites is the mix-n-match fridge back where you can get a mix of beers and ciders to try out.

Great place The atmosphere was very cool, good jams, lots of liquor to choose from, even some exotic stuff, good cigar selection with fair pricing. I ordered two turkey sandwiches, wow very tasty, bread was fresh and priced very good. Nice store and ran with class. Ill be back. Highly recommended!

Darren, the owner of this craft beer/liquor, cigar, and sandwich shop threw his heart into this one. Between the sliced to order toppings and the alcohol knowledge lingering in that place, everyone can be a happy camper. What do I prefer? Bourbon. Bourbon and the freshly made tuna.

I never met an owner that cares more about their establishment than this. After hearing my disappointment about a previous experience, the owner personally addressed it on my last visit...pretty excellent customer service. Aside from that, great cigars and craft selection!!

This place is awesome. High quality sandwich along with one of the best beer and wine selections around. This will be my second stop here this week for a sandwich. My husband loves the vast variety of beers, as well as the pick your own six pack so he can try new beers.

A great selection of liquor, but the owner was not very friendly. Was looking for a specific rum and that I probably was not buying today. He was nice enough to show me his selections, and then said "come back when youre buying". Wont be back there!

The deli meats are Boars Head and the owner is constantly coming up with new sandwich and side creations. Try the new strawberry pistachio yogurt if you get the chance. It usually runs out every couple days.
