I used to come in often to look around as they had a nice selection and purchase ammo. Ive met the owner and he was a nice man, however I stopped giving them my business after several issues. Read below for my examples but those on a rush, heres a quick overview. a: (Most but not all) Cocky and rude staff. b: Expensive (please do your homework online if your new to firearms) 1. When shopping for a new rifle, one of the staff came up to me to start a conversation. It was all great until he asked me about my interests and I replied how Ive been in training to go into law enforcement and so forth and he went on a rant about how police get all the "good and expensive rifles and love to waste government money," so clearly I was a great person to tell that too. That was irritating but I just decided I wont let one person ruin the shop. 2. When I had shipped a firearm to them as my FFL, they were not pleasant to deal when I called hours later when I was notified that it has arrived to them. I was told that I was stopping their progress and holding up the store and ect so I said ok and hung up. Literally 3-5 minutes later they call me saying its ready for pickup. Not sure why they were rude to me when I could go anywhere else. 3. The main reason and final straw. I took my mom after breakfast out to help her find a gun. The man at the counter pulled out the 4 or 5 we wanted to see and left. The problem was that he wouldnt stop interrupting me when I was talking to my mom on numerous times after she nicely told him that she is here with me and wants to learn from me. Apparently that wasnt good enough explaining as he kept coming back. He was cocky and acted as if he was the best instructor and the most knowledgeable and yet he didnt know how to take off the slide of a Glock (I always ask the store as if something random happened with the gun, you cant be blamed). He ended with his snobby remarks with "mam do you even know how a gun works and what a trigger is". Thats when we told him he was rude and they lost our business and he acted as if he was the victim. Shop anywhere else as they are very expensive compared to online retailers and gouged during election time and panic buying as well. You have been warned

Went in with my boyfriend who is well educated in firearms. I am not. I learned so much. Bobby took a Lot of time with me and patiently brought out pistol after pistol to let me feel each one and safely feel the reset on my favorites. He had so much info on each one. Bobby really encouraged me to take a lot of time in making a decision and said hes more than happy to have me come in as many times as it takes and handle as many as i can to feel comfortable with making a choice. He encouraged me to go rent different guns before deciding. The showroom was small and safe feeling which i hadnt experienced at other places. We left having learned a lot... even my boyfriend. I had a lot to think about thanks to Bobby helping me with different considerations in selecting a gun that i wouldnt have thought about otherwise. Today i went back by myself and ordered my gun. Got a good deal. I didnt get their names but the two guys that helped me today were very polite and patient as i had questions about the application. Another great experience. Ive encountered 4 different people in my two visits and each one was very knowledgeable and respectful. I look forward to picking up my purchase next week.

Max and the staff at Red Dot Arms are the best in all of Northern Illinois. They are friendly, very knowledgeable, and always happy to help and answer questions. When you go to a big box shop or a place like Gat Guns, it feels like you are a burden when your asking questions or trying to buy any sort of firearm. At Red Dot its the complete opposite, they take time with everyone of their customers, they answer all your questions and even if you dont buy anything that same day, they treat you with respect and like a friend. Along with their great service, if you cant find what you want at Red Dot, they can either order it for you, or you can buy it online and do a FFL transfer right on their website. If you are new to buying firearms or a Veteran, this is the place you should start shopping!

***COMPLETELY UPSET REGULAR CUSTOMER OF RED DOT ARMS*** I purchased a Springfield XD MOD2 45, regular price $515 three days ago. I then received the newsletter in my email showing the same gun for $430. I called Red Dot, and asked for a refund of the difference, or at least I would use the refund towards ammo. They completely denied that, and just offered me some money towards "Concealed Carry" class. I did not want that. I just wanted my money back or money towards more AMMO. They completely denied me! I am just surprised and so UNHAPPY about this! My family and I purchase a lot from RED DOT ARMS, but NO MORE.....Lost a loyal customer! Horrible customer service! BACK TO SMOKE N GUN I GO! THANKS A LOT RED DOT ARMS!

Im a regular customer here and have been to many training events, both classroom and live fire. All are top notch! Its critical to train as often as you can, and this place is my first choice. From reloading, AR classes, shotguns, home protection, situational awareness, knives, CCW to the recommended follow-on CCW classes, including legal ramifications, all are available at reasonable prices. Most classes can be retaken as refreshers for free, I think. They also have a reasonable selection of firearms and other self defense items. Good accessory line up, too. Some used equipment, also. Knowledgeable staff with experience.

The Owner and the staff are the best in the business. I have purchased several firearms from this establishment Even when they did have a certain firearm in stock Steve and Mike were able to find to find it with in a couple of days. The one on one experience and knowledge and what you are looking for and they listened to what you wanted. No Pressure Sales is what I liked about the team and straight forward advice.I will continue purchasing firearms/ammo and supplies from this company. They are the tops over all the local gun shops in the area when it comes to selection and education on firearms.

What an absolutely perfect customer experience I had in there. I bought a new gun online from a special they were having and got an awesome deal. When I went in to pick it up I brought in an old shotgun that was passed down to me through family. I didnt know much about it nor could find much online but in about 5 minutes Max was able to tell me history behind it, give me a value on it and that it was over 100 years old. Nice people and super generous over there. I was hesitant to drive all the way up from Chicago to just buy a gun but I would go back there in a heartbeat for my next. Thanks again Max & staff!
