While most of the staff at the Evanston location works very hard and are gracious and helpful, I had a very negative experience. Having ordered a pair of costly sun glasses, I discovered upon picking them up that someone had removed them from the hard case that comes with the purchase, as well as the guarantee and instead stuck them in a little soft pouch with a rubber band tightly around the glasses. Apparently, they took them out to give the case to another customer. Bad form, bad business, especially when I had already put money on the purchase. I refused the bagged and rubber banded pair, called For Eyes headquarters in Florida and asked that a new pair IN THE CASE be sent and that the rubber band pair be kept there so I can be assured that they dont tuck those in the case. Whats more, a clerk was making a nasty comment when I happened to walk back in the store. The only reason I called corporate was there wasnt a manager on location that particular day and I also didnt want any other difficulties. The snide clerk tried to tell me that the glasses come in that soft bag and never a case. Upon calling headquarters, I was told that is not true. Was ready to purchase them at a different store and will see if corporate follows through. This is not to say they dont have great staff. They do, but this type of service and finding your purchase in a cloth bag with a rubber band on it -- and $170.00 non prescription sun glasses, is quite s--tty.

0% HUMANITY... 100% CORPORATE NEGLIGENCE... I want to start by saying that my family and I have been devoted customers to this place for over a decade (new glasses, contact lenses, yearly appointments, etc.) and they always seemed professional. That being said... they lack humanity and common decency. The other day, my father was in urgent need of seeing an optometrist after getting construction debris in his left eye. He showed up 15 minutes before closing hours for an EMERGENCY EYE EXAM (Most optometry offices offer emergency services) and went to see the receptionist. He was given a corporate-style spiel (would have to wait 3 days to get an appointment) while the on-the-clock optometrist was having a very humorous conversation with a coworker. He ended up spending an extra 18 hours in dire pain due to their negligence. It would have taken the optometrist less than 5 minutes to spot that he had a shard of glass embedded in his cornea. The next day he visited a competitor down that street that immediately helped him and sent him to a specialist to remove the shard. Imagine having to sleep with glass in your eye due to the laziness of people you have been visiting FOR YEARS! We will never revisit this cesspool of self-righteous doctors who have no empathy for their patients.

I wish I could give For Eyes a better rating. Dr. Haskins is a wonderful doctor. During my first visit, she was very friendly, understanding, and answered all of my questions. She provided me with free contact trials and even contact solution. Other employees such as Patricia, the front desk nurse, and Sheila, who did my contact order, were also very friendly. I highly recommend asking for these people if you go to For Eyes. However, the one doctor was completely rude to me at my last appointment (which is why I gave them less stars). I dont even know her name because she quickly rushed me into her office and never introduced herself. Her entire tone towards me was rude and unfriendly. When I was unable to answer a question, she rudely replied "Well, that doesnt help me." My prescription says "MB" on the doctor signature, so I am assuming that is her. It is a shame that I have to give For Eyes less stars because of this person.

At first I was hesitant to go because the focus of the business seemed to be on glasses instead of contacts. When I got there, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They were timely - I didnt wait for more than a minute before I was talking with the doctor. I wanted contacts, and after giving me all of the exams and determining my prescription, I was seated with a staff member for almost an hour until I could put in and take out the contacts. I highly recommend For Eyes - they are quick, efficient, knowledgeable, and they have great, friendly staff.

Came here for an eye exam which was fine except having to wait 20-30 minutes after my appointment time. Then when I went over to see the glasses section, the prices were insane. I have a strong prescription and they wanted to charge 300+ for the lenses alone, even with my insurance. They also wouldnt combine any sort of discount or sale they had on frames with insurance. Went to Costco instead and got the lenses (same refractive index and coatings) with frames for less than 80 dollars after insurance. Save yourself hundreds of dollars and do the same.

I accidentally popped one of the lens out of my glasses and snapped the fishing line string that holds it in. lenscrafters said they couldnt fix it, and another shop was going to send them out for a couple days and charge $20. for eyes was my third try and the ladies were very helpful, they installed the lens within 15 min, and gave me a hard sleeve to prevent future damage, all for free. Id recommend the place and will go back when I need eye care. The frames start at $29 which is about as thrifty as you can get unless you order online.

there are optricians everywhere in this part of town. the doctor herself was great, but the offices and the store are not. the prices are too high in my opinion, and i have waited weeks for a pair of trial lenses (which i have never had to do ever before). im paying way more here than i paid last time i got glasses/contacts, and im getting way less in return. in a glutted market, that should be considered a bad omen.

Visit yelp reviews for most up to date interactions. I just called them to make an appointment and starting off they were helpful, kind, pleasant, informative, and efficient. I am actually looking forward to my exam!

Everyone here is so friendly & knowledgeable. I got contact lenses for the first time & they really explained to me how to remove & put them in. Their prices are decent as well.

I called ahead and was told that they could repair my frames which are slightly bent. These "professionals" took a look at them and refused to repair an easy fix.
