Tonight, we had a fairly pleasant shopping experience at this location - unlike our last visit. We had sold a couple of nice items via internet, & wanted to meet the buyer and his wife at a public location that was mutually convenient... and Schnucks was also ideal because we needed some food & other necessities. Granted, it was near closing time there, but we knew wed be in & out of there in no time... But let me tell you this: I have never been made to feel so degraded, hurt, and insulted in my entire life! And for no reason whatsoever! Staff members literally followed us, or were waiting just around the corner for us, throughout the whole visit... like they were expecting us to shoplift or cause trouble of some sort! A forty-something couple, dressed respectably, carrying ourselves appropriately, smiling, with no hesitation to make eye contact with them and say, "Hello!" as we came in... however, I didnt know if Id be able to maintain that demeanor all the way out to the car. And, had going there not been a matter of convenience tonight, I doubt we would even have given this location a chance to redeem themselves. I can say with all honesty that it wasnt easy. I grew up in Collinsville & always enjoyed shopping at our neighborhood Schnucks, so it was SUCH relief to shop there tonight and not receive anything remotely similar to our last horrible experience!

The associates here are always willing to help. One time I was looking for a cantaloupe and an associate asked me if I knew how to pick one. I told him I wasnt sure and he helped me pick a good one and taught me what to look for in the future!

Decent service and okay, but Im boycotting for the hundreds of teamsters who lost their jobs. Plus, they charge $5 for a money order and additional fees for using a debit card. Ridiculous.

This Schnucks is awesome. Super selection. Seldom out of stock. And extremely friendly and helpful personnel. A contrast, to be sure, for other Alton grocery shopping options.

Prices were a little high. Some of the employees are very helpful, other ones are rather rude. Still, they have an awesome produce section and an easy layout
