In terms of food and quality of product, they deserve 5 stars, but their customer service is terrible. I called earlier to inquire about available breads, cookies, etc and was immediately cut off by "Lynn" who explained that I can come in to see what items have been "left over" as all bread orders were in for the holiday. I completely understand that I slacked this season and didnt call ahead to make an order but my call wasnt to order a specific loaf, it was to inquire as to what was available and whether you had other items such as Regina Cookies and Italian sausage. Had I not been cut off on the phone and then promptly hung up on, we may have been able to have a conversation and I might have had a better experience. Cant say I will be returning.

Holy sweet salami, is this a real Italian deli? For really reals? In Dunwoody? Why? This is a joke, right? No. Its not a joke. This is a serious, heart-attack serious, Italian deli and I have not seen one like this since I moved from New Jersey. Cured meats hanging from the ceiling, fresh baked breads, old cheese, new cheese, house-made sausages for your face-hole. Sweet. Jesus. Whats good? Every-goddamned-thing. Whats Bad? Not buying several pounds of mortadella, taking it home and rolling around in it. Pants optional.

I got the italian beef and it wasnt as good as I was hoping. The charm of the store really set my expectations high, but the beef was kind of dry, and relatively bland. The meatball sub was pretty good, and the cannoli was pretty good as well, if not a bit more cinnamon-y than Im used to. Ill be coming again to see if they can get another star since I feel like the other sandwiches may be better. They also close at like 4PM or something really early, so it sucks if you want them for dinner.

What a wonderful place! I felt as if I was in a New York Italian Deli with fragrant aromas just like my Mamas kitchen. Freshly cooked hot Italian favorites and great deli sandwiches, and shelves full of Italian originals from Italy. The risotto is the real thing. Youll love everything. Wish I had known about it years ago. The family service is warm and wonderful.Kudos to Charlie and Anita for bringing such a delicious slice of the old country to greater Atlanta.

People are NOT friendly. Its as if you are a nuisance being there. As far as the food? Well, they do have many of the Italian delights that I look forward to but nothing out of this world. Fresh biscotti, anise, in my opinion needs more anise seeds. It should taste of anise and definitely not of added extract. Bread is fresh too, but there is something about the water here that can never duplicate a real NY deli roll. So be it.

Excellent food. I grew up just outside of NYC and I miss the food from up there. East 48th St. Deli is the closest I found in Atlanta to what I used to growing up. Everyone takes the time to get to know you by name. Its family owned. They also make a great broccoli and cavatelli dish which I special order every time Im going to be in the area (I have to drive 30 minutes from my place to eat there). They are top notch.

I have been going to E. 48th Street Market from the time they opened their store in Underground Atlanta and I first arrived here! Once they closed that store I traveled from Hapeville regularly and now that I live in Buckhead we come more often. I have always had a great experience whether asking advice for something I was going to cook, getting sandwiches or wine selection. I would recommend them always!

Its a small (very small, hard to spot from the road) deli and Italian grocer. I havent eaten there yet. I went there because I was looking for some specific ingredients that I couldnt get at a regular store. They had them and more. Prices seem fair given that its all low volume and imported. The staff was friendly.

I stopped by here on a friends recommendation. The food was amazing. I had a #7 italian sub. The meat was so flavorful! The "special sauce" was tasty. Even the atmosphere made me feel like I was at a market in Italy. Add to that a friendly staff... I will be back. At least once every week!

I went in to redeem a gift coupon for a pizza kit and I must say I had a fantastic experience. Although I didnt spend any money, I was treated as if Ive been shopping there for years. Kudos and I look forward to being a customer!

Really quaint unique Italian flair sandwich, grocer and wine shop. The bread, prosciutto, and mozzarella are so fresh and delicious! Yummy selection of pasta salads, and a winos heaven, complete with chilled wine dispensers.

I have been a big fan of E48 since my first visit early 1990s. Best bread. Sadly I moved out of the area nine years ago but always stop by when Im in town. Dont forget to check out Charlies assortment of fine Italian wines.

Love love love this place. Very authentic food. Chili is amazing! As well as the pizza and sandwhiches. You can eat, have wine , and even grocery shop if you need a few last minutes items.
