Needing to replace the tires on my wifes car & not having the time to do the work myself I decided to go ahead & send her somewhere local. I set up the appt (very easy to do!) with the brand and size tires I wanted. They got her in and out within an hour on a Friday morning. I then had her take it to another shop for an alignment. She called me a few hours later highly upset and scared because one of the two shops jacked the car up wrong and messed up the trim causing it to scrape the passenger door when it opened & closed. It was also vibrating so bad she couldnt drive more than 45mph... Upon my inspection of the vehicle I found that they had a SUBSTANTIAL amount of weight (for such small tires) on driver front and passenger back tires. I went into work late the next morning to take the car back. I addressed the issue with Garrett who kept insisting the machine told them to do it....I work with machines all day - I have to have the knowledge beyond the machine to get the job done right. If it was out of balance that bad they should have broken the tire down and rotated it by hand. It was obvious the tire was never indexed. Upon rebalancing the tires, Garrett walked me back into the shop to see the work. He stated the vibration was only in the back and that the back tires were weighted heavily because the wheels were bent. This information was incorrect as it was not both back tires weighted incorrectly and the vibration was not just in the back - the wheels are also not bent.....He then tried to sell me wheels to which I explained I already have some and that I will actually take the time to do it myself and never return to their shop. After the rebalance the car drives perfectly which furthers my thoughts on incompetency. When they drove my car out to me they handed me a lug nut stating it was stuck and they broke it off, but theyd pay for a new wheel stud to be put on.... I explained it worked fine for them the day before when the car was in there so it had to have been their fault. New wheel studs for the car are about $2.00 and doesnt take long to replace so I will do it myself. Just because I will never return doesnt mean you shouldnt.

This was my first experience buying used tires and it will be my last. The first set of tires they installed were Capitol Precision Trac II which had been recalled by the manufacturer in October 2014. I learned this after returning home and researching the brand on the NHTSA website. I returned to Als and advised them of my findings and they offered to replace the tires which was great. They showed me three sets of equally poor quality tires (based on Consumer Reports reviews) and suggested to come back the following Monday. I did as instructed and the set of tires they were able to retrieve were a set of semi-bald Michelin tires that did not pass the penny test. By this point I wanted this experience to be over so I took the tires. Another issue I have with Als is that the first time I stopped by the store to get a quote, I was told the tires were $45.00 each but he could not take AMEX as a payment method. I returned a few weeks later and the same size USED tires are now $87.50 each ($350.00 for set of 4) - 265/70/16 for my F150. I chose to overlook the price disparity because I attempt to support local Black owned businesses in the region. Now Im out $350.00 and have nearly bald tires on my truck. The tires are going to have to replace in few months. Im going to let them have this one simply because I do not feel like fighting this battle but I will never again buy a set of used tires. I cant believe anyone would put a set of tires on a vehicle knowing they had excessive tread wear. I guess it is my own fault for thinking that USED = NOT NEW = SOME TREAD WEAR. However, it seems in the used tire business USED = NOT NEW = DEFECTIVE = RECALLED = HAZARDOUS = AS LONG AS ITS RUBBER.

I called to get an estimate on a tire on a car that I had for two years and already had went through a set of tires. I gave the guy the tire number and he asked me what kind of vehicle they go on. He then tried to convince me that the tires I have had for 2 years arent the right size and weight capacity for my car and he tried to sell me then next higher ones up. He said those more expensive tires are the only ones they will put on to "ensure my safety". When I called a different tire place and I asked them about it they said that it sounds like they are BSing me and trying to sell what they have in stock instead of having to order tires for me. He assured me that there is no difference between the two as far as weight capacity is concerned (mind the guy had to order the tires too if I wanted any). Make sure you know what you need ladies (and those gents who do not know much about tires) if you do not want to get ripped of here. It seems like the 5 star reviews are wrote by the employees...

The customer service is really good except they lose or throw away your valve stem caps pretty much every time. If you want to keep yours, be sure to take them off before you hand over the keys. Ive had this happen to me twice and its happened multiple times to family and friends that I know have went there. Its hard to swallow paying $450 for 2 tires and then leave an hour later knowing your missing valve stem caps are somewhere inside the facility but they cant find them. The same thing has happened multiple times with my lug nut covers. Otherwise, its a quick shop that offers really good prices on tires, and they will match prices you can find on Amazon. If it wasnt for the losing customers property thats an ongoing problem not being attempted to be fixed, I would give them 5 stars.

These people pissed me off. I call on a Thursday to schedule a Saturday appointment. I even pay over the phone a deposit on the tires im buying. The appointment was for 815am on Saturday. I arrive at 810. I was told Ill be in and out in an hour. My truck didnt even go in the bay till 855. Two hours later its done and somehow the bill is more expensive. More "services" added of course. David tries to upsell me on some nonsense as if I dont know crap about tires. I also hear another rep trying to confuse an elderly gentleman telling him about h rated and w rated tires in an effort to upsell the more expensive tire. He told the poor guy if didnt buy the more expensive tire it would ruin his handling and his car wouldnt ride right. What a shameless business.

I used the online appointment maker to make my appointment with Discount tire - it was at 5:30 pm. I got there at 5:28, behind a guy in line who was told itd be about an hour. When I said I had a 5:30 appointment, they had my name, the tires I wanted, and the order prepared. I paid, the exact amount the web page had showed, and as soon as the transaction was done, I got an email on my phone with the pdf of the paid invoice - before the gentleman waiting on me could tear the hard copy off the printer. I was back on the road at 6:00 pm. No other way to shop - no other place to shop for tires!! 5 stars!
