I had a very poor customer experience when returning a comic that should have never been placed in the kids comic book section. After explaining the comic was not age appropriate they agreed to an exchange but I was unable to receive full credit for the purchase. I was blamed for damaging the comic that was kept and return in it is original bag. According to the clerk the cover had "2 small creases across the top". I explained that is how the comic looked when I opened it up at home. The clerk admitted the book was probably damaged from the bag they gave me less than 24 hrs ago. The comic book their clerk packed in the bag with 6 other books without any protective cover or sleeve. I did not want to make a scene. so I accepted the credit they gave me and used it to purchase another book that actally cosr $2 more. After spending gas to make a return round trip of 45 minutes out of my way and being charged for the return, I basically ended up paying to return a comic that should not have ever been in the kids section. After having visited twice before and making purchases. I was well on my way to becoming a regular customer, but now I have no plans to return.

Great selection of books and film, hands down, but the employees here have pushed this customer away from ever coming back regardless. First, everytime I went in there I had to hear the staff discussing their political opinions(LOUDLY I might add...) or talking about how terrible a customer so and so was RIGHT in front of OTHER CUSTOMERS! I used to ignore it,because again, great selection and all, but what really did it with me was the night I called about a book I had seen earlier that day and was wondering if it were still in there. I told the gentlemen where the book was exactly and he told me to wait while he checked. I couldnt have waited longer than about 5 seconds, which isnt nearly long enough for him to have checked anyway, before the man gets back on the phone and says they "mustve sold it,because its no longer there". My intuition told me otherwise, so I drove 45 minutes to get there and find,lo and behold, the book still there in the exact spot I remembered and described to the young man. If you dont mind the terrible, opinionated employees then by all means the selection of books are gre

Complete Scam, the books used to be fair trade in towards any merchandise or books but now, its for whatever genre you bring in for the same genre. Not to mention it only counts towards 50% off purchase. They offered 60 bucks or so in credit but 3.50 in cash. The staff is the most unhelpful apathetic lazy group of people I have ever seen, they can barely be bothered to stop reading to help you and then sneer and make condescending remarks about some of the books you trade in. The store is unorganized and about impossible to find anything and god forbid you have to ask a question. I used to love to come to his place It was great, but I will not darken its door step ever again.I encourage anyone to find somewhere else to take their business.

Contrary to many Yelp reviews the staff is very helpful, i have happily been given full rundowns on the trading and selling process. There are old games, cs, vinyls, and novels and comics from every genre in existence. There are even rare 90s figures/collectibles from franchises such as Spawn and Gen13. But the big mark on this place is that manga is treated as an afterthought, there is only one manga shelf and its all obscure OOP series from years ago, there are no new manga releases to be seen. I am not a big fan of superheroes, but if you are this bookstore will not disappoint, but if you want manga youre much better off going to a B&N or Oxford Comics.

I have mixed feelings about this store. I really like the atmosphere which is why I like coming here... Problem is the staff is sometimes friendly and other times downright rude - which is why I have started avoiding this store. One time one clerk just stared at me and made me feel like I was being watched for stealing! I realize they might be thieves out there, but not me!!!! So insulting.... I would much rather patronize small independent stores like this vs places like Barnes and Nobles, but the rudeness of some employees have been so memorable that I hesitate to enter anymore.

This Decatur location is the BEST comic book shop in Atlanta. Its an ole-school used book store - possibly the largest in Atlanta - that also carries used albums, DVDs, and CDs. Back to comics, though they do carry new comics each Wednesday, the best aspect of this shop is the over 40 comic-long-boxes of 1980s-2000s comics priced from $0.50 to $1 each; most are $0.50 each. Thousands of used comics for $0.50! They also have bagged Silver-Age and Bronze Age comics of higher grade, most well below Overstreet Guide. Did I mention Thousands of used comics for $0.50!?

There really arent enough stars here. The Book Nook on N. Druid Hills is one of a kind. Theyre all about variety in books. The staff is very helpful and they know when to let you browse by yourself. Some books are getting harder to find these days, but it seems as if the Book Nook always has what Im looking for, even if I didnt go into the store knowing what I wanted. VHS, CDs, Comics or just books, This place has it all. Its too bad I only get to go once a year during DragonCon. The Book Nook is always a highlight of the trip!

I grew up with the Book Nook. My father would take me to their original location at the intersection of Clairmont and Buford Hwy. I have always had a good experience there but I was blown away by the service I received over the phone today! I called to check the availability of a book. The lady told me it was not available used but they had it in stock new for $24.99. She then went on to tell me I could probably get the book cheaper at Sams! Unbelievable! Thank you for looking out for me!

Get all my full priced comics here now because the customer service has been so great. Mike especially has turned me on to titles and writers I would never have sampled before, and known where to find graphic novels in the stacks that I had missed. I now enjoy coming in here not only to get my comics but to hear hello and chat a little...its like a muted Cheers, without the alcohol LOL

Everytime I go there they are expanding and growing and there are always new books. They have such a big inventory that their books are brimming off the shelves. The staff is very helpful if you ask for help, but otherwise they let you browse in peace. Its also super cheap and you save a lot of money. I really love that they give old books a new life.

By far my favorite book store in Atlanta. Every time I go in I find something new. Tons and tons of used books. New comics and also used comic anthologies. Used records, cds, dvds, etc. The staff will try to help you navigate the store because you cans definitely get lost. Always worth checking out and if you want to sell books cds records too.
