Love the deals, the store and typically the employees. Usually very helpful, but the last 2 times Ive gone there have been just a few associates to assist and check out customers. I visited about a month ago on a Sunday had to wait 10 minutes to get checked out, even after going from department to department to see who was open. Tonight? Almost half an hour and still couldnt get checked out so I left frustrated without what I wanted and needed. I went to every dept, could only find 4 associates in entire site, registers were 5 customers deep. After 35 minutes of not being assisted I left. Called and spoke with manager on duty who said they werent expecting this many folks tonight. Really? Big sale and start of spring break? Disappointed.

I really like Belks but today I could not find anyone on the floor to help me w the womens Levi jeans. I had to go to the register and was told that the employee was ringing up a customer. Apparently she covers the whole floor? Finally the person working on a store task helped me. Why no staff?

Amy M. in the shoe department went above and beyond to help me find the pair of shoes I was looking for. She called 7 other stores for me and arranged to get the shoes shipped to me. The prices might be somewhat higher at Belk, but Ill pay them for customer service like this.
