Update 4-6-11, I am reconsidering my opinion of the store. The general manager just called me to say that they would like to participate in our cause to keep the used bags out of the landfill. So I will let everyone know how it turns out.____________________________original>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I have been a loyal Barnes and Noble customer for many years and I always enjoy a Starbucks coffee in this store when I am shopping, but I must say that I won’t be shopping in this store anymore and I will share my personal experience with everyone I know. I am an avid recycle advocate, I founded Maggies Corner, a nonprofit corporation, to promote sustainability, and find solutions to recycle the plastic laminate bags that are not currently being recycled, such as coffee and other commodities are packaged in. I offer a free service to the public, I furnish a recycle container and I pick up once a week. The staff at the stores that are participating are courteous and appreciative to me for providing this free service, but not Barnes and Noble, in fact the cafe manager, whose name I cant mention because she forbade me to, treated me in such a disrespectful and condescending manner that I have decided to stop shopping at that location.

The store is well organized and books are fairly easy to locate. The people at the help desk are generally always helpful as are the people that work in the coffee shop and most who answer the phone. The beef I have with this particular location is the front desk people always attempt to "up sell" you into buying something in addition to the expensive books that may be purchased elsewhere at a savings of 40% or so over the member discount prices. Today, the front desk clerk informed me that my membership had expired and asked if I wanted to renew. Before I had a chance to say "yes" she was hitting the key to renew. This has been a continuing issue - going to the front desk to make a purchase is unpleasant and something I dont look forward to. Its not so much the attempt to up-sell you because that is something very common in retail, but from my perspective, its the condescending attitude they have doing it. Perhaps management should survey people about this issue to see if my perception and experience is exceptional. I dont think it is.

I found the book I wanted online but prefer to shop locally. I called the store and the book was not in stock so I asked them to order it. When I went to pick it up the book rang up for $9.00 more than the price online. I did not notice the discrepancy until later. The next day I went back to the store to ask about a price adjustment only to be told by the associate that the website and store are totally separate companies and do not match prices. Then to my surprise he simply asked if I would like to return my purchase. I will think twice about making a purchase at this store again. Perhaps this store should think about customers in terms of the value of future business and not a single purchase.

As an avid book lover, Ive been a B & N member since 2006 and love their service and really nice staff - even though theyre a big chain I still get the friendly neighborhood bookstore feel whenever I go in to browse. I was further impressed with the community events they sponsor for kids reading programs like the one they had last Saturday with the Pearl Harbor Survivors to support Reading is Fundamental for children. It was heartwarming and fun for the adults, too. What a nice way to get our kids involved in reading and history. Bravo B & N! Keep up the good work!

I usually really like this store. There was a manager in a pink shirt today that EXTREMELY rudely came over with 2 other people and reached around me several times to get stuff off the shelf... talking SO loudly right behind me while I am looking at a book. They also carelessly put the books back in front of me flopping them sideways onto the shelf. That is not how you treat people (WHETHER OR NOT) you are working somewhere or just shopping!

The staff here is very friendly and the management is active. They seek to provide great customer service as well as handle any concerns you have quickly. I was able to return an item with no problems I received as a gift and was recommended something else more suited to my interest. I felt more welcome than at some other places even in the same chain.

The store in P-Cola is nice but beware of ordering online as many of the books they claim to have, they do not actually have, but they order through other bookstores, and if you have issues, good luck trying to contact them. No phone number for the subbed out bookstore and the email address returned undelivered.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, clean store. Fast service in the cafe. If something isnt available in the store, 9 times out of 10 you can have them order it and ship to your house for free. The membership card is great. There are a lot of money saving benefits and coupons, it has saved me so much money.

Good luck finding a place to sit. Theres even less of a chance of finding a plug. Oh, and go ahead and ask one of the employees about either one of those two concerns. See how that works out for you. This is by far the worst B&N in terms of layout and accommodations I have been to. Very disappointing.

Good, clean bookstore, full of lots of desirable books and childrens toys, too, by the way. About the best chain bookstore in America nowadays. Efficient, happy salespeople. A great place to chill out, especially with their bistro or whatever you call their snack bar with its delightful treats.

Very neat, organized, and decent wifi... not much to complain about except the lack of outlets in Starbucks section. They often have customers they enjoy that place for far too long and hog up the only two outlets I could find. I say the crowded Starbucks has to be the only real downside.

Its a great comfy bookstore with a friendly, helpful staff and a great selection of books, toys, games, etc. I especially love their history book selection - I can spend hours browsing through there. Amazons great but nothing replaces good old-fashioned book browsing.

The staff is friendly here and there is a good selection of books. The only problem I can think of is that they are sometimes understaffed, so if the person working the registers is helping someone, it can be a long wait to check out.

I found a place to sit! As it turns out, if you go to any business that is super busy, the preferred seating will be limited. Anyhow, it is a good store. The layout feels a bit off because of the movie section in the back.

Pretty good atmosphere but every Barnes & Noble has the standard items. If you ever want something unique or different you have to order online. I hate this standardized fast food culture we live in

Love this place. Friendly staff, big and clean store. Some couches are available to sit and read. Great selection and when you cant find what you want, they will order it for you.
