Have shopped at this store for years, even when it was opened up as Pic n Save! Dont think that I will be going back after my last experience. Note: it is not about the $2.20 that I am out (it is almost not worth the effort of writing this) It is the Principal and my conversation with the manager which made me feel very small! Shopped and purchase items to make 2 pound cakes that night. Set my 4 tied bags on my floorboard, then took directly to my cleared counter-tops. Immediately set bags out to get room Temp and realized that I was short a cream cheese. So, I called the store (so I could get my husband to drop by and get) to let them know that one of 2 purchased was not in my bag. The management had to review the cameras, which was fine. So a guy calls me right back and says that the manager reviewed the tapes and said that the cream cheese was place in your bag and buggy. I asked to speak to the manager: Again he told me same thing, so I asked the question of why was it not in my bag... Where did it go? (As I tie my bags when I take them out of the buggy). So I checked my floorboard again, just to be sure). I explained to manager that it was the principal and I felt like I was not trustworthy. The manager told me " That he cant help what happens to it when it leaves the store".. It is not about the $2.20 extra that I paid for something that I did not receive... It is the way that the manager (Chris Sast, I beleive) made me feel... He made me feel very small and not trustworthy over $2.20. I explained to him how long and often, that I have shopped at this store. It shocked me that he was so willing to lose a customer and possibly others for $2.20. I plan on reviewing the tape as well at my convenience. Because it ended up somewhere, besides in my bag. Unfortunate, as I will miss shopping at that store!!

The slogan posted all over this place says it all. "Nothing fancy just cheap groceries". This place is down right trashy and the people who work there are too! Every time I go into this seaty, backwoods hole I either get hit on, or completely ignored by the staff. Once I was at the checkout and, I guess I was in the way of a young, male cashier who was standing adjacent to me (as the registers are uncomfortably close together), so he physically pushed me aside with his body and went on his way. He didnt say a word or even look at me when he did it. I was so shocked that all I could say was, "Well excuse me." The female cashier that was ringing me up just looked at me, kind of chuckled, and shrugged her shoulders. I considered saying something to management, but I am pretty sure that would just be a waste of my time. Everyone in the place looks like theyre so pissed off, theyd go off on you if you said one word to them, with the exception of the members of the male staff that persistently hit on me with ultra cheesy pick up lines. What a heap!!!

The store is air conditioned now, it is never crowded in the mornings when I go in, they upgraded their POS terminals at checkout so that is a breeze and the display is large enough to read while they ring things up. I particularly love their produce pricing: You cannot find a better deal in town on romaine lettuce, tomatoes, chopped nuts, and even some fruit. They also have excellent pricing on dairy, ice creams, basic cooking items like veggie oil, flour, etc. and bulk snack foods like chicken nuggets, corn dogs, and frozen veggies. Meat prices are rising but you can buy large packs that are better priced per item. Some of the meat is very fatty so the pricing is not that great when you factor in the weight of the fat for what they are asking. I have set some pork ribs ablaze on the grill before because all that fat caught fire. My mistake. :) Their meat has excellent flavor though and I go out of my way to drive over from another county to shop at this store. :)

I would give this place a negative 5 stars if I could. I have never been to this store before tonight. I have shopped at several other Grocery Outlets over the past few years. When I walked it, the smell of this place is horrid. As I shopped, all I could think was how awful it looks, and that I couldnt believe I was still shopping. I would have just left and gone somewhere else, but I didnt. The selection is not much, the meat and produce prices are okay, and the wine was $5 for a decent bottle. The cashier didnt say a word to me when I walked up, the registers are too close together for comfort, but they have an updated system so that was okay. All in all, I wont be coming back to this location. The staff needs to tighten up and be more customer friendly. If the place was a little more kept up, it wouldnt have been so bad for me.

This store is a "cost + 10%" store, which I realize is a marketing ploy, you cant run a business like this on a 10% margin and if you can youre paying substandard wages. The store represents the rising tide of poverty in the area. Santa Rosa county is a small swath of land held captive by a "boss hog" form of government, corrupt and handing down political power and favors from generation to generation. Ive lived here for 8 years and NOTHING has changed with the exception of unchecked housing development and a strip mall building bonanza that would out pace Glendale California. The grocery outlet is a study in poverty and government dependency. Not a lot of pride of ownership here, but the meat prices are great, this is an Alabama based company, not locally owned. Avoid the 1st and 15th of the month.

You have to be careful what you buy there. Meats are better than Walmart and cheaper but other stuff can be higher and you pay 10% overall after that. Bought a pork roast and after cutting off fat it was half the size. Hellmans mayo (32 oz) was $5.03 there. Walmart its $3.98. Shurfine products are of poor quality. Especially american cheese and cream cheese. Dont melt well and rubbery. Pies are higher than Walmart( Marie Calendar-$1.50 higher) and Shurfine Mushroom soup is blah. Dont buy the Langers Apple Juice. Watered down and barely had apple taste. Oh and check your receipts. Double charged more than a few times. Scanner is very sensitive. Cashiers are rarely friendly.

I have never had the problems that some of the reviewers have experienced!!! Meat and produce are far superior than that of Walmart. My favorite thing is that the ice cream us the cheapest in town....by a couple bucks and sometimes even more!!! Cant beat the meat deals for quality and prices!!! Half mile from the house makes for a nice walk!!! Love it!!! Btw....its not a slum store like previously mentioned.

The prices on produce and meat are fantastic. I have been in there 3 times and it was extremely crowded each time. I think they keep the prices so low by not turning on the air conditioner. It is so hot in there. However, the bargains on produce and meat make it worth it.
