Would avoid if you could. Bad experience, went to have my own gear checked out for the season, needed to be cleaned and have a minor B.C. spring fixed on the inflator. Was told they may be able to do it, prefers the tech to look at it, but they could do it. They mentioned renting if it wasnt ready and I advised I would rather take it with me for my trip and have it fixed locally in that case and only have to rent for one day. Called the next day, stated that they were unsure if it would get done theyd call later. I couldnt really hang on "unsure" so I said its okay Ill pick it up to which they responded "good thing you called I just was about to take it apart". Knowing it wouldnt be done they were going to take it apart and force me to rent from them (which I wouldnt have anyway). Went in to get it they mentioned renting more, stated they had as good of quality equipment et cetera et cetera, I preferred to rent from the Dive Master I was going diving with if anything... they tried to charge me because they continued to try and work on it after being told not to! They said they knew they were told not to but wanted to try anyway! I.E. they began taking apart the equipment knowing the tech wouldnt be able to "check their work" before I was diving, therefore trying to force a rental. Overall just not straightforward, trying to make a buck... I recently moved to the area and will be finding a better dive shop.

We are a family from the Chicagoland area and were looking for a dive shop in Orlando (while visiting Disney) to complete my 12 year old daughters certification (open water portion) I was told Cast Away and Marta the Dive Instructor were excellent and exceptionally great with kids. We contacted the Cast Away Scuba and found the prices to be very reasonable and found Marta to be very professional and friendly. As a certified diver myself, I was impressed with their business practices and Mata’s skills as an instructor so we joined the trip email list so my daughter and I can plan trips to areas they dive. I would definitely suggest this shop, and instructor, for certifications especially with kids.

This shop takes advantage of novice divers and those who are getting their diving certifications, really pester you about getting your personal diving equipment from them, using the word personal to suggest that you should buy it new which relates to from their shop. Their service is not that friendly, and they need to improve in the department of customer loyalty. I have been going there to service my gear and to get fills for quite some time, but they really do not know how to treat a customer right. I would not recommend this place to my friends to purchase equipment to, but maybe to get their certification.

My husband bought me cert classes for Christmas a few years ago through Castaway. I did the class and certified on my birthday, and immediately signed up for Nitrox classes. Excellent teaching, with tons of examples and practice. Ive bought some gear there, and have booked a bunch of dives with them since. I also rent all my gear here (tanks, bcd, regs). Im a fan, and highly recommend them to anyone wanting to learn, refresh, or dive some great locations at great prices!! Dive, dive, dive!

I was certified by Castaway Scuba in 2014 and I had an absolute BLAST. Marta is extremely knowledgeable and above all else promotes safe diving practices. We did a pool dive, a springs dive, and a dive in West Palm Beach. I initially had a lot of anxiety about scuba diving but with her instruction I felt very comfortable and safe. She really knows her stuff, and the lessons you receive will help to keep you safe and calm underwater, which makes for an amazing diving experience.

Pretty solid rental equipment, but super expensive. Costs were almost double of those at my normal dive shop, and the number of cleaning/maintenance fees that are on the rental contract is quite intimidating. Many shops have a dunk tank for cleaning equipment which the renter can use, but not here. Clean your gear or face a fee upwards of $100 per piece of gear. Again good equipment, but very high prices and risk of fees.

Marta is a great people person, and she will work with you for as long as she needs to until you feel comfortable under the surface. She is a very professional, and knowledgable instructor. I did a trip with Marta to Dominica with my boyfriend. It was awesome! She really looked out after everyone, knew the area and had great connections when we were there. The dives were awesome and breathtaking. We did some very cool inland things as well, accessing a couple of falls and some great hikes. Both my boyfriend and I loved the trip!

Stopped by just minutes before having to leave on our family cruise to the Bahamas for a snorkel keeper and small bottle of antifog (Spit). Amazed at the level of friendly and personal service I received for such a small purchase. Will definitely visit again and keep them in mind for additional training. Great experience.

I visit Castaway about once a week for fills and have been very satisfied. Marta & Alan (and their other help) have always been very responsive to any repairs or other requirements. Another family member was certified here and pointed me in this direction and I am glad they did. Very nice Scuba Store to do business with.

I bought two pairs of fins and some other various snorkel gear from them. Overall I felt their prices were very decent especially considering they were able to provide good guidance with regards to what was and wasnt necessary for me to have.
