Outstanding store. We moved to the area when our son was in 6th grade and had no skateboard experience at all. He really wanted to get into it, and we found the nearby Riverside Skate Park - loving the look and design of the park. However, Riverside is a serious skaters haven and the skaters there fly around the place... and drop freely down the 12 foot vert pool wall! Not something to just throw a novice 10 or 11 year old kid into. Instead of buying some cheap skateboard from a big box store, we found this fantastic local shop -- Catalyst Surf & Skate. The staff here was excellent to our son. They talked to him about skating, suggested a starter board and boards that he could grow into, and put us in touch with an outstanding skateboarding teacher. We met the teacher at Riverside three times per week, getting there as the gates opened so that we beat the crowds. Within weeks our son was skating at speed and doing simple tricks and jumps. within a couple months he was dropping into the pool like a pro. We went back to catalysts and purchased the next level board too, and some clothing and hats! I owe a huge THANKS! to the staff at Catalyst for really taking the time to help our son get into skating properly. GREAT store. Nice staff. excellent gear. Easy to get to and good size parking lot. Not cheap, but high quality.

My son decided he wanted a skateboard for his 10th birthday. A few weeks prior, I brought him in and the staff was amazing. He sat with us both and explained what we needed to know and what he should start with. My son was able to try out as many boards as he wanted to find what he was comfortable on. The gentleman assisting us explained to me how my son was preferring to stand on the board and how that translated into picking a good board for him. My son decided on one that he loved and they put it aside for him. I was able to call back later to make payment and they held the board until the night before his birthday. Every step of this process was made easy and delightful by the informed, friendly staff and we will continue to offer them our patronage as my son progresses. Thank you.

The people there are so nice and really know what they are doing. I bought my first longboard there. I didnt know what kind of board I should get so I told one of the workers there what I was going to be doing and they showed me a few boards until I found the one that was perfect for me. They even let you test ride it around their shop! BEST PLACE EVER!!!!!

This shop is amazing it has everything u need from safety gear to longboards to skate boards and surf boards and also clothes.Todd in there was very helpful giving us advice and recommendations On what is good for what I want to do and if any of u guys are looking for good boards and equipment I highly recommend this shop.

Outstanding Customer Service. Visited the Store with my long board that had some problems. Todd really helped me out. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff here if they are all like Todd. Great selection on new equipment and excellent product support whether you are just starting out or experienced. Highly recommend.

Took my 3.5 year old son there after he saw some youtube video on Tony Hawk. David from USS spent a lot making sure we got all the correct equipment and fitted my son before ringing us up. He even invited my little boy out to the local skate park for a lesson!
