I could not believe the lack of customer service at this store. I went there to get an eye exam, which was not so bad, considering it was fairly cheap. However, after the doctor dilated my eyes, she said she would wait fifteen minutes for it to take effect. I waited almost forty-five minutes for her to call me back into her office. But this is all just the beginning. I cam back a few hours later to purchase two pairs of glasses (because they were buy one get one free), and I kept getting pushed to the side by the employees. I would ask for help and they would tell me, "Just a minute" and walk away to work with someone else. But, whenever anyone else came in, they would help them immediately. Finally, I got some help from one of the workers who fitted the frames and had me pay for them. I told her I needed at least one pair as soon as possible, as I had to leave town the next day. She told me that the glasses would be ready at 4, but that I should call early to see if they are ready before that. The next day, I called around 3 and was told they werent ready, which was understandable. I then received a call shortly after telling me that they wouldnt be ready until 4:30 because they were running behind. I didnt mind, it was only half an hour. I the arrived at 4:30 to try and get my glasses, but, of course, I had to wait on the employees to help every other person that walked in front of me first. It was 5 oclock before someone told me that they were only just being made. It wasnt until 5:45 that I was able to leave the store. I was so frustrated with them that I took my glasses and left. It wasnt until I had gotten out of town and put them on that I realized that the frames they gave me were BROKEN. They were obviously hastily put together, as they were completely lop-sided and the right side had a screw that was never put in. I took them to the Eyeglass World in Brandon to have them fixed and the woman there remarked on how poorly-made they were. She stated that she was sorry for me and that it was a shame that I was treated so poorly. However, my story is not yet over. My second pair of glasses, which I had asked to be shipped directly to me, were promised to be in my hands within a week. Almost two weeks went by before I called to see what was up. The girl on the phone said they were waiting on me to pick them up at the Ocala store. I lost my cool at this point, and told the woman that if I did not have them shipped to me, like they were supposed to be, that I would have to demand a refund for the entire pair, considering the fact that they were late and that the service I had received through them was so incredibly poor. She apologized and had them sent through overnight shipping. I just got them in the mail today and was so relieved to finally have them and be done with this store for a while. But, to my surprise, THIS PAIR IS BROKEN, TOO. I took them out of their case and went to put them on and the left side came off in my hand. Again, there was no screw in them. It was not in the box, nor in the cheap case they provided for me. I have to go all the way back for them to fix them for me. Needless to say, I will NEVER be spending my hard earned money here again.

These people are not as bad as the other reviews claim. I prefer this office because it is affordable. Yes affordable isnt always better. If you are rich and have insurance, go to Ritz and Johnson, where all the other rich people go. These people are great nice people and will work with you to get any problems corrected. I had to go back about 3 times to get my contacts RX perfected but it was well worth it. They let me try FREE samples of 6 different lenses to let me see which were best. Air Optix, were the worst, dont believe advertising about which contacts are best for you. Some doctors are better than others at perfecting the RX for contacts especially when you have a complex astigmatism like I do. Yeah I had to go back a few times, but it was worth it. Other places will not let go back and wont care if your RX isnt comfortable. These people want you to be happy and comfortable with your RX. And they are the most affordable place in town for eyeglass exams. The others who rated this obvoisly havent even used Wal-Marts vision center who will take your money and not get your prescription right then tell you to leave when you just want them to fix your prescription. They deserve a 1 star rating, not Eyeglass World. The girl who got her vintage frames broke, well they were probably in bad condition from being vintage, fragile vintage items such as eyeglasses will break easier. She seems rich anyway she can buy some more vintage eyeglasses and take them Ritz and Johnson.

I did not have a very good experience with Eyeglass World in Orlando last year. After I had finished the exam and picked the frames, I got a quote for about $300 for two pairs of glasses. The end total ended up being over $600 and no one mentioned all the extra things we had to pay. So recently I had to use my protection plan on both glasses because they ended up breaking. I was wary of going to Orlando again, so I just went to Ocala, which is actually closer. I was greeted nicely and promptly by a lady I believe was named Myra. I had a good chat with her. I never really write reviews but she was so pleasant to work with that I felt it only necessary to give her and the company a good review. Thank you Myra (I hope that is the correct name!), you made going to Eyeglass World much, much easier.

Unfortunately my first and last visit was not a good one, I scheduled appointment way in advance, advised them I was a new patient and advised I have insurance so you would think if they needed to verify coverages they would have called me ahead.... NO I get to my appointment and then they advise me that the offices to verify coverages are closed on Saturday and I would need to reschedule... yeah Im going to reschedule as this has been such a pleasurable first appointment... you would think they could have called me in advance and take care of those type of details before the appointment, but no this was a good waste of my time... to find a another doctor near me again... NOT GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICES...

All I will say is DO NOT GO THERE!! The exam is horrible along with the customer service. You will get a run around of when your glasses will be ready. I had to make 5 trips up there before I got my glasses. They dont call u to let u know that something is wrong and not only that the staff seem to not care. You will be better off going to a different eye doctor if you want to be treated with care. Not only that, the doctor put in the wrong prescription, so i had to be re-examined and found out it was way off. Save yourself from the headache, dont go to Eyeglass World in Ocala, FL.
