Let me first state that I am very disappointed with the Ocho Placa Tattoo Establishment. I have 2 specific complaints. Approximately 1 week ago I stopped by the shop to get a traditional tattoo. I had set up the appointment and gave a $100.00 deposit instead of the standard $60.00 deposit. I was determined to get a tattoo from one their artist and made an appointment. 1) Today (8/18/16) I called to cancel my appointment permanently because a family crisis came up with my daughter which was unexpected. I informed the person who answered the phone regarding my situation and asked him if I could get a refund due to my situation. He stated he could not due to the contractual agreement and the transaction had already been processed. 2) The day I paid for the deposit and up until now, no sketch was made. My appointment was still approximately 2 weeks away. I gave the shop plenty notice of cancellation. I had asked the person who I was speaking with if I could at least have the extra money that was placed on the deposit..deposited back into my account. The response was no because the transaction was already done. 2 issues I have are with respect to my unfortunate conversation are as follows: First out of Principal the management of Ocho Place should have understood my dire situation and refunded me of my deposit. Second, as a potential customer with a referral base, they should have conceded and retracted the contractual agreement. Third, I called 2 weeks in advance of my cancellation. I would understand (no refund) if I made my cancellation the day before my scheduled appoint. Although, the person I spoke with stated that I could reschedule at a later, switch tattoo artist, and have a year before I lose my deposit does not in the end remedy my situation.

I have been planning my entire vacation around the appointment I have set at ochoplacas, the artist was very nice about giving his email so that he could work with me and assuring me it would happen, and that he would take a look at the references and call me back asap to talk about the piece, i have called him several times and every time he has promised that after this tattoo hes working on, or on his next break he will call me, never did, last night ( the night before i am supposed to drive two hours to my appt with him) he promised he would go home and email me right away. Now a few hours before the appointment I have still not heard from him. The dudes are crazy if they think im going to drive two hours to go be told im going to spend 800 dollars on some not 800 piece, or worse he wont even have the time then to pay me any attention, quit a disappointment as i have been looking forward to treating myself to this tattoo for my birthday for months, and really doing my research on who i wanted to do it. They obviously dont value their clients as much as they say they do.

I made an appointment several weeks in advanced with Marco. I told the receptionist exactly what I wanted and we scheduled an appointment at 1pm. Marco showed up around 2pm and said he was not able to tattoo me because he had other appointments. Marco then referred me to another artists who tried to change what we originally discussed. For reference i flew from San Francisco to Miami specifically to get tatted by Marco who I was referred to ser. Booked several weeks in advanced and was told they couldnt do it. DO NOT GO TO OCHO PLACAS.

Such a great vibe in a tattoo shop. Everyone in the shop was extremely friendly and accommodating, but lets get down to the most important part, the tattoo. My artist was Daniel T-pot Ortega, and he is the Michelangelo of traditional tattoos. He put forth maximum effort to ensure my tattoo was perfect; every minor detail he suggested and eventually added really completed it. Danny has done all of my tattoos and I recommend him to everyone and anyone who is interested in getting one.

man, for reals, know what Im sayin? cause i went up in this piece and they were all tatted up like on tv, so i says they musta have the real deal. i told them a dream i had when i was a kid and they made it a tattoo right on me! it shines like crazy! all my friends want it but its on me. ha ha hah. they do all real stuff like in the movies. you can get one if you go in and tell them what you want. when i get my money right i am gonna get me 5 more!

Ocho Placas is one of the best shops in town. The work speaks for itself - youll come out with a near perfect tattoo. Their creativity is also excellent - i came in with a simple idea and within an hour the artist had turned it into a complex design that i loved. It is slightly more expensive than most shops at $150 per hour on average - you can get comparable work for $100 per hour at other shops in Miami.

My girlfriend and I have only been tattooed by Javier Betancourt, but his tattoos are unrivaled. His line-work is incredibly precise and the finished pieces are impressive. The other artists there are crazy good too and I continue to recommend this place to friends and family.

Incredible atmosphere, the only thing better is the artists and their work. They are very professional and worth every penny. Had my piece done by Jerry and I couldnt be happier with it. Cant wait to go get my next tattoo done here once I have the cash.
