Wow. Finally stopped in this place and am very happy I did. The layout reminds me of the coffee shops you will find in the uptown area in New Orleans in that it looks like you are having coffee in someones house. The hospitality certainly makes it feel that way. Steve the owner is absolutely passionate about his coffee and justifiably so. I asked him to give me essentially a tasting menu of his coffees while I worked on a large project and was very impressed with the distinct flavors you find in each. I went with the roast of the day, Mangrove Island and I am definitely coming back for more! The interior of the shop is very clean and has a cool open window where you can watch Steve monitoring his coffee roasting and talk to him. There are several places to sit inside and out, a large table in the corner as well as a comfy armchair along with lots of books to read. Its a great spot to go work on something that requires caffeine. There are also several pastries available (didnt try any). Outside is a covered patio that would be perfect to take your dog and significant other to. The location is in a strip of single story mixed commercial/residential establishments. Look for the "dead end" sign as a marker, its pretty much your only good marker when driving by to find the place. The store mainly does take out orders for people ordering in bulk so you know that he has built up a loyal customer base when throughout the day you see numerous people coming in for their regular bags of coffee beans that they are using at both their business and homes. This is a very, very good sign because it means that people trust him and his coffee beans enough to serve it to their own customers. You will draw obvious comparisons to Panther Coffee in Wynwood. Both are freestanding establishments that have passionate owners making damn good brews. If you are in the area, come by and see what Steve is up to. You wont be disappointed and youll be supporting a business that is doing a damn fine job at making exceptional coffee.

They roast high quality coffee every day and serve both espresso and brew/drip coffee. You can choose between their different coffee beans which is nice. The espresso was very well done and taste obviously depends on the coffee beans you choose. Ask them for a recommendation to suit your taste. I prefer the intense African coffee types and it was awesome. Also tried different brewed/drip coffees which are done manually and perfectly with Hario equipment. They have seating and lots of magazines and some books so you can stay there to try some different coffees. Atmosphere is relaxed, its not crowded and staff is very friendly and gladly tells you a little about the coffee. Recommended if you cherish well crafted, freshly roasted coffee.

Super high quality coffee pros. Super kind server (owner?), very knowledgeable, helpful, kind and friendly. I asked for a flavourful coffee, I got the pour over/drip and the attention to detail was unparalled, weighted and timed to perfection - a beautiful cup of citrusy, nutty coffee. Dont expect a drive thru experience, especially if theres a line ahead of you. Im definitely not a coffee snob and am happy to brew up a cup of folgers in a Mr Coffee to get me going in the morning. Come here for the coffee, not just the caffeine fix, stick around a while, chat with the guy or pick up a National Geographic or one of the other nice mags there.

When you see more than 45 reviews and the total rate is 5 stars , you expect something is wrong , when you go to the coffee shop and have a cup of latte or buy a roasted coffee beans and try it home then you will know why it got 5 stars . The coffee taste is unique and the beans is one of the highest quality I tried and I am a traveler and tried coffee in different countries . And also the owner is super friendly person . So its a model of a small successful business. The only down side is the working hours, the shop close around 3:00 pm.

Its all about the coffee! This coffee shop is an ideal spot for passing trade heading to the I95. Places to park, Very friendly service and as above. The coffee is perfect. Now if you wanting a casual relaxed sit down coffee then you might see why it only gets four stars. Its a small shop. Not too many places to sit if a couple are already sat down and its a lacking a bit of comfort or vision if that makes sense. Your not going to get any wifi if your planning a surf. In summary its a good brew and the rest is work in progress.

Amazing coffee in a relaxing atmosphere. The coffee is all delicious, being freshly roasted on premises..and not overroasted like a certain chain. And Steven the owner will explain his various blends to find you the right one if youre taking it home, or brew you a wicked drink if thats what you want. Really took my in-home espresso game to another level. The Art Deco blend is top notch. Definitely a local treasure!

The only downside is Steve has ruined my ability to drink anyone elses coffee. He has so many options for fresh roasted beans - and somehow, with the zillions of customers, he remembers our favorites when I am picking up a pound for home and say, "Whats that one my husband likes?" Coffee is a craft here - and Steve is the Master!! Yum.

Im surprised I didnt write this place a 5 star review sooner. Ive been coming to Calusa for a few months now. Best coffee beans in FL. I have tried other local roasters and Calusa is far superior in my opinion. Steve is a cool dude who is pleasant to deal with. Lots of variety and beans sourced from all over the world. Go here!

My favorite coffee roaster. Nice selection of single origin and blended beans. Freshly roasted. Some roasted while you wait. Had a cold brew made partially from beans soaked in an IPA. Amazing! A craft beer lovers coffee dream. The owner is great at describing all of his products. I dont miss it when Im in the area.

One sip of their coffee and I instantly got turned off to any other coffee Ive ever had. I feel as if Ive been missing out my entire life. The coffee is heaven, I cant think of any other word that could honor the deliciousness of what this place has to offer, I will be back and I will tell everyone to come here.

Came in here by chance today looking for an afternoon pick me up. SO happy I skipped Starbucks and came to Calusa! Got a chance to talk a bit with Steve (owner), buy some local roast and have an excellent cortadito (espresso with milk). If youre in the area make sure you stop by!!

Unparalleled quality coffee. The beans are imported green and roasted on site in small batches. Despite the care and effort put into in each cup served, the prices are reasonable. I consider each visit a treat with friendly service, great coffee and relaxing atmosphere.

I dont often write reviews but I often read them and this led me to Calusa Coffee Roasters. I highly recommend everyone to stop by and have a cup of coffee here. With good service, great coffee and a free smile... I left a happy customer.
