I had purchased this top of the line Exacto pencil sharpener Elmers 179x CN a couple of months ago because the cheap pencil sharpener the college had provided kept on falling apart, so I decided to replace it with my own adjunct instructor limited funds, and naturally I went to Office Depot where I always went when I needed something. Well, like I said it lasted a couple of month, to my great shock, as it was the TOP of the Line Model and cost nearly $40. Well, presumably since Office Depot touts itself as the carrier of the preferred and best brands, I just guessed when I bought it I didnt need to keep the receipt, after all this waas Office Depot we were talking about. But when it stopped and I brought it back I got into a line and when it was my turn and I explained my dilemma, the clerk at the sales register said after 30 days, no exchange, no refund, no nothing, its yours and youre stuck with it,. So I asked nicely (not like all the airhead mentality rude professors I encounter everday) if I could speak with the manager and she got me there, she was the manager. So I asked her to please call her manager, which she refused. 30 days for everyone else is 30 days for me, too. Now, were talking a huge corporation, with a rude, customer-unfriendly attitude who couldnt call her manager to get a write off on a replacement sharpener. Now, I didnt have a Masters Degree forever, I had spent 20 years working as a secretary in Boston to the top executives finally in the financial district of the city, and I didnt get there by being rude and making other peoples problems seem superfluous. I worked for an ambassador, Presidents of companies, VP of banks, and never in all those years did I ever speak a word of derision to "my customer;the boss". The lovely lady who couldnt find me a reason to call her boss to see what else she could do , her name was, I believe, Jennifer; in her staunch, this is my store and I control it and why dont you just go back to the college where some people might respect you total approach. So whos to say she needed to respect me, but as a customer, I really believe she needed to be nice to me. And whatever training Office Deppot offers for their managers somehow failed to teach that the customer is supposed to be served to the best of their ability, and not have a power showdown; she really could have called her boss, and it probably would have looked a lot better than practically sending me and my husbasnd out of "her" store. So I say nix on Office Depot. Also about the return policy, it was not advertised in the store, except as an asterisk at the very bottom of a large sign and the asterisk and very small print said if you wanted to know about their return poilicy you would have to ask someone. That, right there, had I seen it when I came in to buy it, would have sent me right back out of the door. But that little asterisk and its notice apparently is legal, but also apparently effective beuse I certainly didnt see it, and at the cash register they made no mention of the return policy, so thats just about as close to fraud as you can get. So now I have a $40 pencil sharpener that doesnt work paid for by me on an adjuncts salary with Office Depot stanading on a reputation of high quality, but unwilling to replace those items that do not meet the quality standards, which is about as good a guarantee as a slice of pizza. Anyhow, if you do plan to buy anything at Office Depot when it comes to electrical devices since they do not guarantee those items beyond 30 days, and you know its going to take 60 - 90 days before it starts shaking and rumbling and groaning, and as far as Office Depot goes, you may have bought the top of the line but your 30 days has long since passed, so eat it , or go somewhere else.

So I am a consistent customer at this location. I have been coming here for maybe a year now for all my printing needs. Now today was the first time I encountered an African American male who i believed to be named Daniel who seemed as if he was having a stressful day. I get it. We all have jobs that get stressful. But to call me "spoiled" because I came to get a service that I was told was available at this location is not the way to treat a customer. Then proceeded to say how if he wasnt busy he would may be able to do what it was I was trying to accomplish. I asked if it was suggested that I should wait until it slowed down which I was willing to do and then I was essentially told that since he cant do what I needed or was requesting, that I should leave. No other solution or suggestion was made by Daniel. Thanks Daniel for the lost of a customer. Ill go else where for my services now.

I purchased a computer at this Office Depot last week and paid $50 for an appointment there to have my stuff transferred from the old computer to the new one. Well I guess they book everyone for the same time so they told me to just leave the 2 computers and they would be ready in 2 hours. Two days later I got a call to pick them up saying the job was done. When I got home I found very little of my stuff had been transferred from the old computer to the new one. I called and was told the other stuff could not be transferred but they will not give me my money back. I had to pay a teenager $40 to do what Office Depot could not do. He had no problem doing what needed done and it only took him an hour n a half. So if you need a technician find your own or mine but do not let these people steal your money

The customer service was horrible and their selection was very limited. The store appeared as if it has not been restocked for the past couple months with large sections of aisles being nearly empty. The employee that assisted me was not only rude but impatient for her coworker to respond with the availability of a product I wished to buy. I had intended to go in to spend upwards of $800 in my purchase but with their immaturity and ridiculous short supply of products, I decided to go elsewhere. Avoid this store unless you would like to witness a grown woman throw a temper tantrum.

I ordered online and went to pick the order up at this store. Their policy is to imprint your entire CC on the order paper. They just leave these sitting around. I asked them to black out the rest of my CC number but the last 4 digits and they refused! I literly had to take the paper away from the cashier. The manager refused to black out my cc number, the items were already paid for! I understand they have to verify the person who paid is picking it up, but there are other options available. Corporate was no help and they REFUSE to refund my money. $200+

This place is like shopping inside an old flea market. Their phones constantly ring while your there. The carpet in this place makes you think it was used for cattle before they moved in. Clean it up people, this is your work environment
