This is my 3rd vehicle I have purchased from Drivetime and I couldnt be more disgusted (2102 Chevy Cruze). First of all, I have owned the vehicle for 16 months and have already had to put over $2,000 into it. Extended warranty is a joke, 99% of problems with your vehicle they do not cover. When the car was sold to me it was leaking coolant. When I brought it to the Salespersons attention i was told it was from a previous vehicle that was parked there prior to mine. After a week or so I realized there was a coolant leak so took it to one of the repair shops covered under the 30 day warranty. One of the clamps came loose so they replaced the clamp ($6.00 part). A couple months later the coolant is leaking fluid again, took it to a buddy of mines shop and he repaired it for nothing. A few months after that, ANOTHER coolant problem. Paid $300 for a new water outlet housing (Drivetime did reimburse me half of that so I could continue making my car payment). Two weeks ago the car was having serious idle issues (shaking, vibrating, feeling it is going to stall, etc), I would push the gas and car would barely go, etc. Took it to a shop and found out it not only needs a new turbo charger assembly but ALSO has a crack in the valve cover. I got the turbo charger assembly done cheap ($1200) and paid another $240 for the valve cover to be replaced. I used a shop out of their netowrk for extended warranty and paid an extra $100 out of pocket, coming to a grand total of $509 out of pocket. I I have now spent near $1000 in repairs alone (cash, out of pocket with the bs extended warranty). My wife called Drivetime on Friday and they tell her, "No problem, just fax us over the receipts and we will defer your next payment". She calls DT again on Monday and she is told, "You need to call customer relations to look at a possible reimbursement before they will consider a deferment". We get the repairs done and she calls today and they tell her, "The repairs are considered a maintenance item and not eligible for any type of reimbursement". She contacts Bridgecrest directly to discuss a deferment and they tell her, "Because our account is in good standing, they cannot help her". We drained our savings account to get the repairs done and MAKE the car payment and now we get no assistance because we paid our bill ON TIME! They only use deferments if you are in risk of repossession. Would have been nice to know all of this upfront, in advance. It appears the company has SEVERE communication issues and the employees are not trained properly. I work in Customer Service and will be reporting this to every single place you can report to, including the BBB. Everyone needs to know what they are getting into before signing a contract with Drivetime. The sales pitch for the extended warranty was," Well we wouldnt want you to have problems with the car and not be able to afford the repairs". Seriously? I have your warranty and have serious problems with the car I cannot afford and you offer NO ASSISTANCE! Had I not purchased the extended warranty the car would have already needed over $2000 in repairs. Possibly, the finance lady knew something about the vehicle she wasnt revealing, hard to say, but she was ADAMANT we get it, even though I had no problems with any other vehicle I bought from them. I still have the 2004 Pacifica I bought from them 10 years ago, drives like a champ. I will go to a "Buy here, pay here" before I EVER purchase a vehicle from DT again. Not only have you lost my business, you have lost the business of every single person I come in contact with because I will tell ALL of them to never use your company. Obviously, they do not take the care they used to in inspecting their vehicles and most are previous rental cars. It took me quite a while to find one that wasnt, and this one has had more issues in 16 months than both of my previous vehicles combined. 3 vehicles from DT and I still pay 18-19% interest being a preferred customer . Not the same company they were many years back. Very disappointed in every aspect.

This is my first time giving feedback on a company, but I feel its very important to recognize people who excel at customer service in an age where it seems like its nonexistent! I was not planning on going to Drive Time. I wasnt even planning on buying a car. Our car broke down and we really needed a 2nd vehicle anyway so I started to look online. I was apprehensive and a little anxious. I knew my credit wasnt the best, I have student loans looming and I was trying to build my credit up again. So, I was just browsing early Saturday morning. Before I knew it I had picked out my new car online. I was still leery of falling in love with a car. I did DriveTimes pre-approval online and within minutes I was approved for more than the car I wanted. I scheduled an appointment for 2 hrs. later that day. I was just planning on driving the car and seeing if I liked it. My husband and I had an event to be at that evening. Having bought several cars before, I knew it would be a labor intensive, long and agonizing process. I did have the few things they required for income documentation with me already in my purse, just in case we started the process. Everyone was uber friendly and courteous. We had made an appointment but we were a little late. The sales reps were all busy but they offered us water while we waited. I checked out the lot (just in case my dream car didnt work out or someone else had bought it). When I the car I picked out hours earlier, I got butterflies! It was just as nice as the picture online. I went inside and started the pre-application paperwork with Sarah in customer service, while we waited for my sales rep. I figured it was going to be a while. But from the time we started to the paperwork, until the time I had the keys in my hand to my new car was only 2.5 hours! When I got there, everything went textbook smooth. Completely unheard of! There were a couple sales people helping to get everything processed and they did so flawlessly. They were an experienced team and there only goal was to make sure we were happy with our purchase and we got to our event on time that night! We did get to our even a little late, but only because of the rain. Thank you to all the folks at Drive Time in Clearwater (Sarah, Vince, David and Jeffery) who went above and beyond to make this an amazing experience. We had the best car buying experience here, hands down. I will be recommending DriveTime to anyone looking to buy and affordable and reliable car!

My husband and I purchased a car from DriveTime on January 19th. Not long after our arrival that evening we were introduced to representative Paul. Paul was absolutely wonderful! He made the application process super easy and went out of his way to show us all of our desired options for cars, along with including his own recommendations as well. He took his time with us, not rushing us at all despite the fact that they were closing soon. After he showed us all of the potentials of our interest on the lot, we still had our hearts set on one from the Tampa location. Paul himself went to go retrieve what is now our new baby! This car is absolutely perfect! By the time he got back it was well past closing time, but he still let us test drive the car and all, and he checked the lights and signals and made sure everything was in working order before we finalized. Paul and Vince went above and beyond to make sure all the paperwork was completed along with insurance and tag information and all that good stuff before we left. They were very transparent during the whole process, attentive to all of our questions and concerns. Not once did they make us feel rushed or forced into anything. Highly recommend this DriveTime and working with Paul and Vince to anyone looking for a new car. They really do work with everyone, even if you have bad or no credit at all. We were pleasantly surprised by our low down payment. Everything worked out absolutely perfect! Thank you Vince and Paul! :) Side Note: Yes, DriveTime has higher interest rates if you have bad/no credit, but thats the trade off for guaranteed approval based off your income instead of your credit. Word of advice: DO YOUR RESEARCH! You cant expect anyone else to do for you what you yourself has not. This is YOUR investment, make sure YOU invest time into the right car for YOURSELF. No one else can make the decision for you. Good luck!
