First thing in the door, walk up to counter at service, three employees behind, and two customers standing ten feet away from counter, I look around, having to judge the situation, because their people skills are 0, and nobody says a word to me...until I finally approach the counter, where I am greeted with "theres two other people ahead of you!"...not, "hello customer, welcome"...but turns out these shysters were already working me before I ever even went to the store! I called about bringing my vehicle in for a radiator flush, and asked the guy on the phone if I could go ahead and bring it in...OK, perhaps that was a little ambiguous, but Im pretty sure that asking if "I could be your customer" goes without saying...my question was about having them do the work NOW!...which I was told to "bring it on in"...and they acted shocked that I wasnt going to just drop it off! While there, I saw something I liked and decided to buy it...turns out it was in the "wrong spot", and wasnt the 7$ I thought but 12$...the front people immediately went and put the remaining 3 items on the right peg. OH...but hold on to your lugnuts...it gets better! After determining I wasnt going to leave my vehicle, the guy behind the counter asks why I wanted to have the radiator flush done in the first place. I tell him I just bought the vehicle a couple months ago, and also it seems to be slightly overheating, with rust in the water. He then interjects that they cant do the flush now, without first doing a $50. inspection...because something else "might" break down...lol...seriously!!? Their website boasts one of the reasons you might want a flush is slight overheating...it does not say they must add a 50$ inspection charge first! Stay away...from Captain Howdy! P.S. I took it to Jiffy lube...loe and behold it didnt break down...and the slight overheating problem has stopped...

Bad service this people are just here scaming people, I went there because I needed an alternator for my 99 mercury cougar $700.00 later I left and had to come back as the alternator was huming I pulled in one of there clueless mechanic looked at me and had the nerves to tell me that it was not the alternator huming that it was my motor I responded back to him asking that if it was my motor why it didn't do it before they put the alternator in he reply to I don't know but that is your motor so I left with my problem not being resolved a week after I notice my lights fleakering so I ask my dad as he is a mechanic out of state and he told me is was my alternator going bad, ask my brother and a couple other mechanics and they all told me the same thing so I proceed to go back to pep boys and told them about my problem and they said they wold look at it so 30minutes later they came and told me that there was nothing wrong with my alternator and that my lights were find. Here I am 11months after and my car is sitting in the drive way because the alternator they gave me was a bad one so now I have to pay some one for something that PEPBOYS should have fix when I came in to get it fix and they didnt, PEP BOYS MECHANICH SHOULD BE A SHAME OF THERE WORE AS A MATER FACT PEP BOYS SHOULD BE A SHAME OF THERE MECHANIC I would not recommend any one to go to any pep boys save your money and go somewhere else where they not going to take your arm and leg for they charge. Hope this review can help you in some way

I find this location to be useful for small things such as oil changes or diagnosis only. I had to be towed there one weekend when nothing else is open and they couldnt figure out the problem but assured me they tested several things and it wouldnt be anything big. Called me a few hours later and it was something big, an $800 repair. We didnt have $800 at the time, so they said we could leave the van there until we could get it towed, so long as it was within a couple weeks, so it was inside the locked up area and wouldnt get broken into. I went to pick the van up they had left the key in the ignition for over a week and killed the battery. They told me just jump it and I would be fine, but of course the battery wont ever recovery totally and I will have to replace it faster than I should have. It was a brand new battery too, 3 weeks old at the time. They also have had trouble diagnosing. My van would start and then randomly not start. Of course every time we got there it would start again. They would tell me things like it was out of gas and that was the only problem, when it wasnt- the fuel pump needed to be replaced. Over all not very pleased with them.

I drive all the way from central Sarasota, for both vehicles, and heres why. Other than a nice, professional staff and clean facilities, but also due to their going "the extra mile." Last year, Jiffy Lube over tightened the oil drain plug on my BMW ///M Roadster. Once the motor heated up, the *hollow* plug cracked and drained all oil from my motor as I was driving. After hearing the lifters get loud, I checked and called Jiffy Lube about it. They refused to own up to it, so I called corporate, which was rude to me. Mind you, you are very lucky to back out a hollow drain plug, as it might fall in the pan ($1,000 repair on that car). Pep Boys not only backed the bolt out, but put a new one in, did my Royal Purple oil change ($100) and COMPED the WHOLE service. I was amazed. They didnt do anything wrong, yet the paid for their competitors mistake. Theyve earned my loyalty, and that of many of my friends. If you live close, make them your exclusive place to go. I have no ties to any of the workers, its simply good business that compelled me to write this.

What an terrible experience and a complete waste of time!! When I got there, the guy told me it would be about 45 minutes for them to take in my car. All of the mechanics were basically standing around doing nothing. Two and a half hours later, they finally bring it in. Mean while, they are taking other costumers who came in after me. They couldnt even fix what I wanted them to, because they felt as though they would try and sell me an $800 part which I dont even need. That must be how they run business, by trying to rip off women, assuming that they know nothing about cars?! Needless to say, I refuse to give theyre scam artist mechanics any more of my money.. When I got home I noticed greasy black finger prints all over the hood of my white car. Really?! These people are that inconsiderate, blind, or stupid that they couldnt even wipe it off? Nice business . Ill be sure to tell everyone that I know about this experience and make sure that they dont patron this dump of an establishment!

I was there for a total of 3.5 hours. On hour 2 I inquired when my vehicle would be ready. By this point, I had visited the Tijuana Flats & Cracker Barrel next door for over an hour. My inquiry was met by Darlene (or Debbie, I cant remember her name, its been a few months. Blonde, mullet-style haircut, shorter) "Well I told you to go to lunch didnt I?" I was beyond frustrated. I looked at her like she had a third limb. So I waited - not much else I could do. I had also asked for the code to be read from the computer in my car - they didnt have an answer for me (it happens - they just dont have the capability to do what a true service repair shop does) and they offered a tire rotation. I agreed to the tire rotation, only now Ive been stuck with an unbalanced tire with a severe wobble at speeds above 50mph (I drive the interstate daily). I will not be returning to this location. Piss-poor attitude by the repairmen, the reception and even poorer quality work.
