Every trip to this store could be a business school case study in how to do retail badly. On todays visit -- one driven by dire need for a new brake light -- I counted at least seven different ways of disappointing (or even antagonizing) the customer: 1) desk clerk enters the wrong model for my car when doing the parts lookup, even after I explicitly point out the error on the screen 2) part is not in stock 3) lone cashier makes me wait 2 minutes while she counts change into the till 4) while Im waiting, desk clerk #2 tries to sell me some sort of fuel additive -- this even though I have a different additive (the kind I actually need) in my hand 5) my additive rings up at a higher price than the one listed on the shelf display 6) when I point out the discrepancy, desk clerk #2 claims (wrongly) that Im confusing two products with different prices 7) cashier -- the only one, recall -- charges to the back of the store without a word to look at the shelf tag It is at this point that I walk out. Save your money and stomach lining. Shop elsewhere.

I took my car to Auto Zone today to get a new battery as I required a jump start just to get it there. The first person I talked to was great and all in all exteremly helpful. However as he was about to remove my dead battery from my car a manager called him over and instead sent some new kid over to do it for him. He took the battery out and said he would be back in a minute, only he never came back. 5 min. later I walked back inside and found him talking/laughing with another employee and made up some BS excuse as to what took him so long and did nothing but complain about other customers as we walked back to my car. He finally put the new battery in and as I was leaving had the gaul to say, "WHAT NO TIP?", even after I already paid the $15 instalation fee. I gave him $1 and got the **** out of there. All in All do not go here unless you absolutley need to.

I went to buy a battery charger because my Tundras battery was completely dead after being left for a month. (I later found out it was a bad battery, but at the time I thought a dome light was left on.) I picked out a charger and brought it to the register. The lady asked me what I was using it for. I told her to charge my battery...as it was a battery charger. She told me that this was not what I wanted, that I wanted was an emergency jump starter. I tried to explain to her that the battery was completely dead and that it needed to be charged, not jumped. She then told me that the charger would take 3 days to work (not true, they take a few hours) and to keep my receipt because Id be back in a few days to return it. She had a terrible attitude and was rude the entire time.

The staff here was awesome. I called about 9AM to see if they had battery acid. The lady I spoke with went to check and see if it was really in the store. She said they had 2 containers. We didnt get there until 4 and another salesman had sold both containers. So our situation was that we were visiting and we live on our boat. I needed the acid for a new battery for the motorcycle we carry. We were there by Uber and they had the only stock of acid we had found. The same lady we spoke with got on the phone. Located some acid at another store and sent one of her people to pick it up. Now thats not what I expected. That was way above and beyond what she had to do. Im glad there is a medium to praise them. Great people.

I read the bad reviews of this store and almost didnt go. But its walking distance from my house and I needed a serpentine belt and tensioner pulley. So I went anyway, expecting lousy service, and was surprised at how courteous and helpful the staff was. It looks like the management has heard the customers complaints. Theres a sign on the door, with the names of the management staff and their phone numbers if customers arent satisfied with the service. The H Street Auto Zone isnt the very best auto parts store around, but the people were helpful, professional and polite, and made me want to be a repeat customer. I hope all the skeptics give them a chance.

I came in with my car make, model, and year. I came in with the engine size. I came in with the VIN number. I came in with all of these things in search of the appropriate oil filter. They spent about 15 minutes looking through their system and when the lady found it, ran off to look for it. Neeldess to say, after all of this, they sold me the wrong oil filter as well as the wrong sized wrench to remove the oil cap. You would think that if it was your job, you would at least be able to find the right supplies for your customers. I want my money back and Ill take it elsewhere.

I can completely disagree with anyone who would speak ill. I was literally stranded in D.C. with seven kids and my wife and these guys literally kept the store opened and helped in at 10pm get my truck fixed an on the road. Those guys deserve a huge reward for going above and beyond their duty. Thanks Guys I got home safe which was three hours away from my home because you did everything to get me back on the road safely. God will indeed bless you for helping our family. Shalom!!!

Called to find out if they sold tires. No, they dont. I explained that I need to get a tire for my sons car and Im not in or from DC. Asked if there were any tire places around there so we could get a tire for his car. The guy was a condescending a_____. Told me "a gas station, a dealership, or a repair shop." No kidding! Thanks. Really helped us out during our crisis. If Autozone chooses to employ jerks like that as "customer service", then they dont care about customers!

The manager SHERILLE is highly rude, unprofessional and unhelpful! Needed coolant for my car and she couldnt even tell me what kind I needed and insisted on asking me rhetorical questions in a rude manor.. At no point should other customers have gotten involved to help me solve my problem.. Thats YOUR job! You need to be reprimanded of your position, retrained and honestly just know how to talk to people... DONT GO TO THE LOCATION! GHETTO AS HELL!!!

I think the positive reviews below are a little suspicious. Both reviews rated the same, said they were nearby, and try to disway the negative ones ...hmm. Probably done by the store itself because the people there are awful. Very rude. They dont acknowledge you when you come in and they get upset when you ask for help. Definitely not the best place to go. Find another one if possible.

The quality of the customer service is poor. However, that issue has become normal almost eveywhere. The avrage number of the Business Firms are NO longer sensitive to the quality of the customer service as used to be. Complaining to higher mangerial level is just waisting of time.
