I recently visited the Helzberg store in Wilmington, DE to purchase a diamond ring that I have been saving for. My family in an effort to help me get the ring of my dreams have given me gift cards to the store over the past year. I had just over $1300.00 to shop with. I found the ring I loved for $4,500.00 since this is a luxery item I was planning on laying the ring away and making monthly payments on it. I wanted to use the $1,300.00 as the down payment. I was turned away stating that the gift cards could not be used as a down payment, I needed to come up with another $450.00 to place the ring on lay away. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am with this store policy. If I could I would cash in the gift cards and go to another jewlery store.

My ring was purchased on 11/04/15, and they promised the work on it would be done 11/18/15. I called on 11/27/15 and the ring was still in the store and no work had been done on it. Assistant Manager apologizes and promises a $500 refund as well as trying to get the ring ready as soon as possible. When I go to pick it up a week and a half later, the General Manager refused to give me the refund as promised. Be wary as this store does not keep its promises.
