It would be nice if someone was able to help. I called the store twice. The first I expressed that I was looking to see if they have a shirt in a specific size and that I had a UPC (Barcode) for them to look it up by. The girl on the phone bluntly asked if it was a girls or boys shirt, I said Mens, she said hang on ... I spent 10 minutes waiting for someone to pick up again, but nothing. I called back immediately after hanging up and stated that I had just called and waited but no one and that I just need for her to look up a shirt that I have a UPC for. She mumbled heavily and from what I could make out sounded like " I cant look it up, I cant leave my area, hold on" and then transferred me... after 15, yes FIFTEEN minutes someone finally picks up with an attitude and asks "What you want?" I tell I just need to see if she has a mens shirt and I have the UPC for an XL and need to know if they have it in Medium." What UPC? " the lady asks, attitude continuing. " Youre ready for the number?" I ask to clarify. "Uhh yeah" i get in response. I read it to her two numbers at a time with a good space in between, she asks me to read it slower... at this point i am frustrated and read it to her one number at a time with about 2 - 3 seconds in between each number. she tells me that is the number for the XL, i tell her I know and thats what I said in the beginning and I just need her to cross reference it to find out if they have the medium. "I cant do that, you have to give me the number for the size you want" I hung up. This is absolutely ridiculous. I have worked in Customer Service, I have worked in retail, I have worked in Management of both. This store has shown no respect to me as a customer and all the employees I spoke with definitely need to be retrained. I have called other Walmarts with similar request and had no issues, but this store ... not exactly striving for the best of the best, that is for sure.

I called the store to be transferred to the bakery, and someone picked up the phone at the customer service desk and without ever saying anything they immediately hung up the phone. I thought well this had to be a incompetent mistake. So I immediately called again and they did the same thing again. The third time and fourth time, yes you guessed it - they did it again and again. Finally the fifth time someone actually said hello, so I told them what just happened and she actually told me she was hanging up the phone purposely because she was too busy to take phone calls! Im so shocked at this point, Ive never experienced or even heard of something so ridiculous. When I was finally transferred to the bakery no one ever picked up, so I gave up. We were finally able to order the cake we needed another day which was for our daughters first birthday. The cupcake-cake we got was perfect and we all loved it, but the free smash cake said 1sd instead of 1st. Apparently some of the bakery employees are unable to spell correctly. We never complained directly to them because it was a free secondary cake and the cake we purchased was perfect. I have dealt with many rude employees, way more than any other Walmart or even other stores. Although I have also encountered helpful, nice, and courteous employees something really needs to be done with the rest of the bad ones.

People are pleasant there, the door greeter was cheerful and courteous and when I finished my shopping and was waiting in line one of the cashiers open a register by saying "maam I can take you on register 18 " then this other couple ran..literally ran to get in front of me and as the woman shot ME dirty looks for whatever reason, the cashier rolls her eyes at me because of what the other couple did i just smiled and waited for them to be cashed out then she says to me after the rude couple were out of earshot.."some people huh?" I smiled and said "people are always gonna do what they want so no big deal" we both chuckled a little and by then I was cashed out and she says "have good evening maam" I wished her a good night and she politely said thank you and I left, the door greeter said have a good evening and I left the store and contrary to the bad reviews I read of this particular store..not one person was rude, most shelves were stocked and I found everything I went in for, also this was my first time shopping there and it was about 10 pm when I arrived and left around 10:47pm.

The worst place to shop !! The staff is always rude and not interested in customers. At the register in the electronics Dept I waited 20 minutes while a Hispanic female was standing at the register chit chatting with another employee. They spoke all excited and loud in regards to their plans later but when it was time to talk to me, she whispered, she spoke so soft and she seemed to have 0 interest in being there. She DIDNOT offer me a warrenty for my TV or ps4 while purchasing so after the transaction was finalized I inquired about the warrenty and she had to re-do the whole transaction. If I was not educated I would be ripped off every time I go !! It seems theres never an employee available to help and if you go to return anything theres a white trash appearing CSR named Anna whom happens to speak English and spanish, her only job is to fight with customers as to why they do not deserve a return. Save yourself the stress, anything you can get at Walmart you can also get from Jerry Springer. Please save yourself, DO NOT enter WALMART HARTFORD

My Family stopped by this evening after spending a few days in the Hartford area on a family vacation from Canada. Never in our lives did we experience such a lack of customer service. The store was very busy and had only 3 check outs open out of 16. We waited in line for 25 minutes to check out and watched the lines grow larger and larger behind us. I asked the cashier why there were only 3 registers open and complained about our long wait in line. She remarked that it was only her second day and then asked me "Does it look like they care?" referring to the management of the store. I told her that I knew it wasnt her fault and could very clearly see that they did not care. I felt bad for her and all the "valued" Walmart clients behind us. What a joke! Surely to god you can do better than that Walmart? Dont waste your time visiting a store that just does not give a dam about you as a customer. Who ever is managing that place should be fired now.

This "WalMart" should be called "PuertoMart" and Im not saying that in a bad way but thats all that works and shops there. The minute you pull into the parking lot, you will be greeted with paper and trash blowing all over the parking lot (kinda feels like you are in the poverty part of a metropolis city). I agree with every review on here about the lack of cashers and the 5 star reviews are clearly from the employees that work there (trust me). Ive lived in Georgia for over 20yrs and Ive been in WalMarts that have nothing but African Americans working in them but they werent anywhere near the way this PuertoMart is! If it isnt the WalMart (which it isnt) that needs an overhaul then its the employees. Clean up your act WalMart! By the way, there is a new and better WalMart SuperCenter that opened up in East Windsor about a year ago and its like the WalMarts I remember from GA and not the PuertoMart in Hartford.
