We enjoy occasional trips to the Coventry Highland Park Market. We go there specifically for their meats which we can tell are noticeably better in quality than what we have gotten from any of the Stop & Shop, PriceRite or Price Chopper markets. It is a longer hike for us, passing these other supermarkets on the way there but worth going the extra miles. On one of our visits this past holiday, we picked up one of their fresh seafood creations, "Salmon Napoleon"- it was fabulously delicious! It is stuffed-layered with roasted peeled red pepper, seafood stuffing (shrimp and/or crab) spinach and cheese between two salmon filets held together with wood skewers. On the next trip back I was looking for it but didnt see any. I then assumed it was only something they offered during special occasions. I inquired about it and was told they have it from time to time but will also make it for customer requests (they need a days notice). They make it to requested weight of the salmon. Discovering fresh creations like this make our trips worth more to us and further solidifies our patronage to HPM. I have come to believe that the higher quality fresh foods they offer is what separates them from the big box stores. Sure prices are higher, especially for common products such as canned goods and paper products, however we dont mind going the extra distance and spend extra money for foods that we can tell are better in quality and taste- you get what you pay for. There are 4 other Highland Park Market locations, and have only visited the Manchester store once. We decided that we like the Coventry HPM better for what we go there to buy. This makes me wonder if the quality of certain foods might vary from one location to the next. For the Coventry HPM, we rate the quality and appeal excellent and service as very good since employees seem to be similar to the big box stores we frequent, polite and helpful.

I decided to try this local grocery store since I recently moved to the area and would rather patronize local business than chain stores. They have high quality products and friendly employees, especially in the produce and meat departments. Unfortunately their selection is fairly limited and I was not able to find a handful of items on my standard shopping list. Also, it does not seem like the store is willing to consider ordering products requested by customers. If you arent a picky shopper when it comes to specialty items I highly recommend this store. If you do need a few uncommon items, Id say use this store as your daily local stop and supplement their selection using a larger chain every so often.

A little pricey for all-around grocery shopping. Living in Coventry, its a life saver for convenience. Absolutely love the deli sandwiches, prepared food, and the meat selection is high quality. My favorite part is that there are always young people working the register/bagging area. Each one is always friendly which I really appreciate in a young employee.

A smaller grocery store with limited selection and somewhat higher prices than bigger stores. However, their meats, seafood, and deli are second to none. The deli makes huge sandwiches that are enough for two and still cheaper and much better than fast food places like Subway. If youre looking for anything fresh, Highland Park is the place to go.

Very nice store, with a good selection of food. Highland Park is not the least expensive store but all the foods seem like quality selections. Their meat/deli/ and ready food area has a great selection of good tasting options. This is a great store when you are hungry and shopping for a fresh last minute meal.

A little pricey, but very nice local store. We do our weekly shopping there, never have to wait to check out, no plastic wrapped meats, you pick from the counter, always fresh. We can do a weeks shopping and be back home in 30 minutes.

This grocery store is top-notch. A+ produce, A+ bakery, and A+ meat dept. Their only shortcoming is the deli dept. where new workers get no training on how to use the slicer. The cashiers and bag-boys are always friendly and smiling.

The pizza here is absolutely the best around. Also the deli items are store made and are better than home made. We no longer go to pizza restaurants as Highland Park Markets pizza beats them all. Highly recommended.

Highland Park has a lot going for it, but for me the clincher was finding scrapple in the freezer section. I moved here from PA and I find it impossible to buy scrapple in CT. Will be back.

Beautiful family owned grocery chain. Nice bakery and deli selection. An employee will help you carry your groceries to the car. They wont accept tips so dont worry about that.
