I never post bad reviews. Like ever. But this really was so bothersome to me for some reason. Maybe Im overreacting. I bought almond paste from this Safeway store location on September 27th 2016. When I came home to use the product it was rocksolid. Like I could use it to hammer in pictures on the wall. Assuming it was a bad batch, I looked at the expiration... It expired August 2013! Seriously Safeway?? Coming from hospitality, customer service, the restaurant industry and have previously worked in a grocery store myself, I was mortified. When I went to return it the next day (9/28/2016) around 12:45pm, I approached a clerk (who was very sweet & apologetic) he told me to return it at the customer service counter. As I was getting a refund on my CC, I noticed the manager (tall, Caucasian man, blonde/light brown hair wearing a blue long sleeved collared shirt) coming out of his office after the clerk informed him about the 3 year expired food item, and he didnt even bother to say anything to me. I cant even fathom this is any type of customer service industry. Instead, he walked by with the store clerk completely looking completely away from my direction. As I was leaving the customer service desk, I noticed the manager and clerk in the baking section removing all expired almond pastes from the top shelf. Im pretty sure they both noticed I saw them doing this. Super disappointed in Safeway. And even more disappointed in the lack of customer service skills this manager had. I understand its not his fault that expires items were on the shelf for 3 years, but maybe he couldve been more empathetic towards a customer. Idunno.

Last time no more chances . The workers are very disorganized and do not pay attention to what theyre doing . They are too busy talking to each other and joking around . The cashier scans the items twice , the baggers give groceries away , dont try to bag quickly and get confused about who gets what . The self check out is gone ...annoying . You get one thing from the deli and you have to get in line behind someone with a basket full of groceries , this is poorly managed and operated . The managers need to focus on operating the business efficiently instead of letting their team run wild as they please . Some workers are friendly but they spend too much time small talking they dont realize their line is wrapped around the store . Whole place is a mess !

People are really nice who work here, and they are really helpful. The workers are exellent. but.... Whoever the "genius" was that decided to remove the self check out lanes should be made to apologize. I went today and stood in line for 20 minutes for 3 items! It was almost 7pm and they only had 2 registers open which isnt the cashiers fault its Management or rather MIS management. Also the deli used to be great now it isnt friendly as it used to be with not so friendly or clean cut workers there. I used to get meals there all the time.... again I think this could be improved upon. Otherwise again the workers are great, security guards are always friendly, parking lot is clean, store is well stocked and I like the location.

Most of their produce, especially fruit, is absolutely terrible. Their meat seems to be old bc its always at expiration, has a managers special on it to get rid of it, and it tastes weird. I wont buy it anymore. And, they took out the self checkout lanes bc the store was losing money to theft but now theyre always announcing "Threes a crowd!" over the intercom bc they need backup and you end up standing in line for 20 minutes. Anytime I go, Three is a crowd. Im tired of wasting money on something that tastes rotten once I get it home, or literally is rotten on the inside. And Im tired of waiting so long to get through the lines. Ill make a longer drive to avoid this place.

A nice place to shop. Good, knowledgeable and helpful employees. They seem to run out of on-sale items quickly and dont re-stock fast or at all. Want fresh-baked donuts to get-and-go in the morning? You might wind up in a line for only one open checkout, not able to just plunk down a little more than a dollar and go. This should be changed. And customers, dont take shopping carts and leave them near Walgreens or your apartment building. Do everyone a favor and return them to where they belong. Hours: 5 AM to 12 AM.

There are always long lines. Before they call for help to open a new line, there has to be a huge long line. The POS is really slow and constantly freezes. The deli staff is somewhat unprofessional. Ive heard one of them mocking a customer. One of the older clerks or manager is always yelling at her colleagues or complaining. Finally, some of the places they keep items doesnt make sense. Some canned food is in one aisle. Other canned food is in another aisle. Strange approach to stocking the shelves.

I give this place less than 12 months before it closes. Probably the single biggest inconvenience is the store removing the self-checkout stands, and then not replacing those with humans. More often than not you are standing in line minimum 12-15 minutes to checkout since there is normally 1, maybe 2 checkstands open. And this was done to improve the customer experience according to Safeway. I dont want an experience when I am there just to grab a couple items. Save yourself and go somewhere else.

I have lived in this area for approximately 6 years and regularly shop here. However, recently the customer service has gotten So poor that I will be shopping elsewhere from now on. After taking out the self checkout lanes, No effort was made to hire more cashiers to adequately handle the volume of the store. The lines are so stupidly long ALL THE TIME and the employees cant seem to be bothered to move any faster than a snails pace. I will no longer shop here unless Absolutely Necessary.

Went shopping there on March 13th late afternoon and had a really bad experience with the person managing the self check-out lanes. she was helpful at first but then she then started rising her voice, was really UN-PROFESSIONAL!!!! and started making rude comments... But the store manager step in, resolved our issue and was very professional... but Im still really upset having to deal with this lady.. would have got a five star if I was dealing with the store manager.

I called in a Mom kind of panic way and spoke with Heather in the floral dept. I asked if they had any corsages, she said no, I panicked worse and she said "you need it tonight"? I said yes. Heather made me not only a corsage but also a boutonniere all very last minute and they are beautiful. She is by far an all star!!! She made my daughters prom wonderful for her and Im so very thankful!
