I am a PROUD Graduate of this program of 2015! I went to this program twice, the first time I was young and did not take it seriously, I thought the same as most, "its a salve camp, unfair rules, all about religion" yet the second time around I GRADUATED PROUDLY! yes, church is a requirement yet within the program I was able to look into a "religion" that worked for me (the toltec, 4 agreements, Buddhist way of life, not exactly the Buddhist religion), it became a new way of life for me that I continue to this day!! I highly recommend this program, if you are willing to work as hard on your recovery as you did getting D.O.C then this program can and will work for you. Yes, they work you hard, yes they have strict rules..but I wanted my LIFE and FAMILY back. And with time and dedication I got just that! Plus, got to go on an amazing trip to California thanks to this program! If you are through with being sick and tired of being sick and tired, give this place a chance, stick to it and you WILL see results!

The Salvation Army claims to be helping people, when all it is in fact is a work camp that relies on people to get sentenced to the program and work 50 hours for their profit. Other ARCs across the country seem to be focused on helping people, but this location (run by Lt. Davis) is extremely biased. I arrived at the Denver ARC in September of 13 and was discharged 5 months later for "acts of staff splitting and manipulation". The reality of the situation was that the staff (Major Sundin) lost my 90 day review paperwork and the lead counselor (Erica) decided to add a month to my stay. The problem seemed to occur to 4 others at the same time (right when their worker numbers were down and they needed people to stay) When I simply asked why I was extended, I was discharged when I argued my point. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. There are plenty of other ARCs across the country to visit. I came up from Florida and was kicked out in 10 degree weather with no place to go.

This place changed my outlook on how my disease affected my life, my choices and my loved ones. I have nothing but gratitude and praise for this place and people! I learned not only how to stop killing myself with alcohol and other drugs, I learned how to live a stable, productive, happy and joy-filled life! Today I have a well paying full time job that I love, stable housing, and the respect of my son, other family members, and society. After going to several other residential treatment centers, and trying in vain to stop drinking and drugging on my own, I once again found myself on the streets of Downtown Denver. After completing the Denver ARC, I am the happiest and most successful I have ever been! All my friends are people from the"Sally" or from AA. I would not trade my life today or my experience with the Salvation Army for anything!!

You will know when it is time to change yourself to be a better person... That is the only way it will will work for you... Wake up dont. Talk the talk if you can not walk the walk! Repenting only comes from with in yourself! Oh yes and you crybabies that left your negative comments. Good luck in trying to go the easy way out???? Yeah I was a voluntary person there back in 05 and they kick me out too for taking a couple drags from a cigarette in the bathroom and it was cold.I was sick that day so I wasnt allowed to leave my bed. Except go to the bathroom they do work you to death and dont have any actual counselors there they just have people come in from a Aa/na and have meetings and thats it plus youre forced to go to church plus you cant even have a a trimmed beard you have to be completely clean shaven

I was there this year 2015.....this place is a religious cult! Look at there emblem it states blood and fire with an s with a cross through It and two swords crossed. It is a money symbol and look at all the pyramids! I was made to attend church at least 3 times a week twice on Sunday and was told any other religion is not ok and on top of that did not see a counselor the entire time I was there, all we did was clean and work like slaves. Please research before you go here.

This place is a joke. Please look into other places before going here. The only reason anyone should go to this place is if they are on papers and can get their sentence reduced, or you have nowhere to go and are cold. If neither of those apply to you then you will get no help here.

Unfortunately, this is not nearly as good as the goodwill shops in the area. Id rather support Salvation Army, but this store feels like an afterthought.
