My Mother dropped her prescription glasses in the lake getting off of her boat one day. She dove in and rescued them after some searching but the PH in the lake water fogged the lenses completely...I am no chemist so I cannot say why. Anyway, she loves the frames and I suggested I have Bret at Sports Optical take a look and see what he could do. Bret made/ put new lenses in them and she cannot believe the quality of them. She continues to tell me, and everyone around her how happy she is with the glasses months later. They are better than her regular prescription reading glasses. The price for the work was very reasonable when compared with what the replacement cost would have been. You will love the quality and service you get here and so will your Mom. Here is one more plus: The owner travels to Italy, New York, etc to make sure he has the very latest in frame styles and technology available for his customers. Check it out sometime, especially on a First Friday art walk night when they host local artists in this shop and all of the galleries along Tennyson.

Havent received my glasses yet so I hope theyre OK but totally dissatisfied with the service and communication thus far. When ordered: "delivery in 2-3 weeks after we have everything we need (glasses with pupil location marked") Phone call from them after theyd received everything, confirming the order. Waited 3 weeks, hadnt heard anything. Send an email. "Glasses will ship next week". Wait 10 days, heard nothing. Called them. "Lenses didnt meet our quality standards, we sent them back, theyll ship next Tuesday". Waited two weeks (one week after "next Tuesday"), hadnt heard anything. Called. "Lenses should here today or tomorrow, well ship your glasses a couple of days after that". When I pointed out theyd said they would ship the prior week was basically told I was mistaken (I take careful notes of whats said when Im on the phone including repeating back "so you said....". Lousy communication, lousy customer service. Hope the glasses are better than the service else theyre going back.

Brett and the staff at Sports Optical never disappoint. My wife and I have purchased several pairs of glasses from them and have found it foolish to look elsewhere. Their attention to detail, quick turnaround, and professional customer care would be enough to warrant our return, however, Sports Optical goes above and beyond. I purchased some prescription Smith glasses for cycling and I couldnt be more happy! The quality and optics are top notch and its great to actually be able to see. The only bad news is that these have spoiled me and now I want an arsenal of prescription lenses and glasses!
