Eric is D man. Undercover bosses send someone from bass pros and give this guy a promotion. I went there this past Monday to check if the upcoming workshops for fishing (posted online) applied to all the stores (didnt show at the store level). 3 reps were telling me that no workshops were scheduled so the website was just been general. Eric proactively jumped into the conversation and told me that if I wanted to come back later in the week when more staff was available to cover for him he could provide my wife and I a personalized workshop. We went again this Thursday at 5 pm. Eric took us around the store with a positive and motivated attitude and shared with us his knowledge to the extent of his own personal fishing experience. After an in-depth explanation of baits, rods, rails, lines, etc. Eric took us out of the store pond and guided us there to the extent of both us having our first catch and release experience. Eric provided us with the type of knowledge that only passionate people would care to provide. I personally only learn if I understand the proper reasoning behind the action and Eric provided that and more. We left there feeling to have received a lesson worth hundreds of dollar for the price of a simple thank you. With a hectic life with family, work, and furthering my education all at the same time I never have time to provide reviews Eric deserves my time and appreciation and honestly people like him is what stores need to retain and promote so that others can learn and follow his steps. Proactive, knowledgeable and with a great attitude. If you go to Bass Pros in the Colorado Springs ask for Eric as he is D’ man.

I went in to purchase a shotgun and was sold on the Franchi Affiniti. The sales representative told me that the difference between the Stoeger Shotgun and the Affinity was that the Stoeger was made in Turkey, and the Affinity was made in Italy. He also added that the Affinity was in 3 1/2". I wanted 3 1/2" so I purchased it. When I got it out of the box and looked at the stamp on the side of the barrel it said 2 3/4" to 3". So, I contacted Bass Pro Shops to make sure, and he confirmed I had purchased the wrong gun. The representative was nice, and told me as long as I hadnt fired the gun he would upgrade me to the intensity for $300 more, no problem. I guess many companies miss the point on customer service today? You dont sell anything, and misrepresent the product, and expect the client to pay for your mistake. I didnt get the gun of my choice, and Colorado Springs is about 60 miles away from home. I think we have lost the concept of taking care of the customer. I will keep the gun, but I am not happy. My advise, is when you shop for a gun at Bass Pro Shops, do not think the sales representative is knowledgeable about the product. The other incident I witnessed is a women shopping for a hand gun, and I recommended a Glock 9mm. She liked the feel and the weight, but was told the gun cost over 700 dollars. I was aghast, since I just purchased a Glock 9mm for 600 dollars. So, Bass Pro Shops my be a bit pricy as well, so be careful your not paying too much. The real positive about the store is they carry about anything you could want for hunting, fishing, boating, and packing.

I purchased a .22LR pistol for my wife for home protection on the 25th of April. After the lengthy ( thank you State of Colorado) application process I was told it would be twenty minutes or so to do the background check and that they would call me when the process was complete, so I left to pick up my wife, who was shopping nearby. Two hours later I had still not received a phone call so I returned to the store. I asked what was going on and was asked if I had received a phone call? I said no but it has been over two hours and was told he would check. Twenty five minutes later I received my gun and asked for a box of ammo and was told they had none. At no time during the buying process was I informed that they had no ammo my the gun I was buying. I asked when they would have some and they didnt know. Since that day I have been back to the store four additional times (15 mile round trip) to purchase some .22LR, once I was told it was all going to Memphis for their grand opening. I have also checked Walmart 3X, Big R 2X; and Magnum with no luck. Had I been told there is an ammo availability issue w/ the .22 I would have opted for another caliber. Moreover, why cant some ammo be reserved for gun buyers or at least put them on a pre paid list and call them if/when it comes in. It is now May 16th and wife still only has a four hundred dollar club to protect herself when I am gone. Like a previous review I found the gun staff somewhat stuffy and in no hurry.

Not impressed with it. As others have said its expensive compared to other places. I found camping supplies to be limited. Ended up using a gift card I got online but did in store pickup as I live near this location. It took a week for them to get the order in. ...Im sure they stock the heater I got but they said I had to wait for the one I ordered to come in. I then go in and told 10-15 minutes for someone to bring it up. Um place is dead. ..I was told to walk around it seemed they didnt want me hovering at the desk. I mentioned my wife and kid were waiting in the car and basically told sorry 10 to 15 minutes. Seriously I could understand if they were busy but not when 10 people in whole store. It seemed like a ploy to get me to impulse shop. ... No thank you. I got $28 more on gift card and could careless to go back. ...lol Ill stick to LL Bean or REI.

Just about everything is overpriced. It is a great place to physically get your hands on something that you are on the market for but plan on buying elsewhere (rifle scopes for example). I also tried the fish and chips Friday today and it had me laughing our loud. It is as advertised however. 16 bucks for an unlimited ammount of fish and chips but after getting our first plate 20ins after ordering it and then 40 mins for the second, its easy to see that they play the game of waiting out a customer to make sure they dont eat their moneys worth. A side note, the bowling alley has a 30 minute time limit for the game u paid for so it doesnt really even out especially if u have kids because they usually slow things down a bit. Overall it was a mediocre experience and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

I am not a big camper or hunter but I wanted to buy a few supplies as I have been getting more interested in camping and fishing this summer. I am not one to go into a store uninformed and usually do my research online. I picked out what I wanted and headed to the store. Ran into an employee in the fishing department named Joe who was incredible. Best service I have ever received. I was back a few days later I did get the vibe that there are a lot of airheads and lazy people working here, lots of employees walking by not asking if I need any help. I think there are some real pros here but you may get unlucky and work with a dummy, it happens. Overall good store as long as youre not a stuck up snob shopper
