My family and I were adopted by a family for Christmas of 2015. We did everything we were told to do such as fill out the application and indicate what our family needs. The day we scheduled to pick up or gifts we did. Upon getting home we opened the bags with excitement only realize that the gifts were not meant for our family. We have two boys ages 3 and 5. The gifts we received were for a girl around 18 months, I know this because the clothes were for a 18 month girl. We immediately went back and returned the gifts letting them know that received another families gifts. Apologetic and confused they took the gifts back and told me to come back the next day. Disappointed and sad I left empty handed. The next day i went back and was told to come back Monday. Monday morning i went back. When i arrived the person i had been in contact with didnt even remember me and asked me to tell her the entire story again. After telling her she called her daughter over and told her go pack a box for us. As i waited i wondered about the family that adopted our family and weather or not they would be disappointed find out that the family they shopped for not only didnt receive the gifts they hand picked out for us but also received left over toys and gifts. I took my gift bag and left. I know i should still be grateful but the manner in which the entire situation was handled and the disregard to both my family and the family that adopted my family is just sad
