I wrote the review quite some time ago and Skybound has updated their menu a bit so Ill make sure to update my thoughts, but my 5 star stays the same. I had decided to try this place with my girlfriend on a whim, lots of local places opening up lately so it was to see what could be expected. I can say over the course of countless visits I am certainly hooked. Im sure of the number of visits as this local business also participates with the SpotOn app to earn rewards for patronage, also a major plus. But I digress, the chilled dessert selection seems to offer something a bit new each time. A favorite of mine is the chocolate gelato. Heavy and satisfying for my chocolate cravings or just making a rough day go smooth again. There are fantastic cakes to choose from as well. I tend to favorite the chocolate as usual and the fiancé enjoys the berry tarts and the gluten free selections. The options are always updating day to day. Beverages come hot or cold and are fantastic in their own right. I could write quite the even longer paragraph embellishing upon the finely brewed coffee drinks or energy drink infused smoothies or with fresh orange juice, but I say go explore and experience for yourself. You deserve a treat dont you?

This was my second visit to Skybound. Our first visit, a couple of days after Skybound opened in April, there werent a lot of desserts. They had a couple of cakes, so we tried the gelato. It was overpriced and just okay. This time they had lots of desserts, at least 6 cakes, different pastries, cookies, and other sweets. The Red Velvet Cake was dry, stale, and hard. They offer a "Happy Hour" from 2-4 p.m.: - $2.75 12 oz Frappes - $1.50 12 oz drip coffee - $3 Cookie sandwich - $3 Custard, Italian Ice, or frozen yogurt The Pros: - Locally owned - Owners are friendly and respond to Yelp reviews - Cool, atmosphere with a lot of seating - Free WiFi - Plenty of parking (unless an event is happening at Rancho Buena Vista High School across the street) - Lots of dessert choices The Cons: - Employees lack customer service skills - Prices of desserts arent listed - Expensive

I have been here a few times and enjoyed the coffee and tea selections. The Acai bowl was tasty the first time I had it as well. Tonight on the other hand left me never wanting to come back. My husband and I decided to take a friend here for an acai bowl and smoothies. The customer service was terrible! When we asked for an acai bowl the girl working said they are a pain to make and used an old rotten mushy banana. Our smoothies were sour and smelt bad and left me sick to the stomach. I dont know if it was just the girl working who was having a bad night and didnt want to take the time to make us quality items or what but I will never go back and our friend wont either. After spending over $20 on 2 smoothies and an acai bowl Im pretty bummed. My stomach is very unhappy too.

This is a really great coffee house. I have come here a number of times with and without others, and my opinion doesnt change. The coffee tastes really good. The white mocha is oh-my-goodness. I always order white mochas at every coffee shop, and Skybound makes my favorite one. Convenient, because I live in the area. They have a happy hour from 2 - 4 pm on weekdays, and it includes frappes, drip coffee, and some desserts at reduced prices. They sell gelato! It is expensive, but it is really good also.

CORTADO - crafted with excellence on a quality espresso machine, with organic coffee beans, roasted fresh by local (San Diego) roasting company. Rich selection of local (San Diego) foods...the breakfast pastries look fantastic. Will be back in the evening for gelato--great selection.
