I got my nose pierced a little over 2 months ago here. I would absolutely NOT recommend this shop for body piercing. First of all, the receptionist was rude and unhelpful -- She made me feel as though I was unwelcome - so that wasnt the greatest first impression. When I asked for their highest quality jewelry, she pointed me towards a neo-metal product. Of course, I did not do a lot of my own research as far as low to high quality grade jewelry (I figured this was common knowledge for a piercing shop to have!). Nevertheless, I paid $45.00 for this piece of jewelry, which is a middle-of-the-road titanium and should NOT be priced this high per the quality! After researching and visiting a few other piercing shops, I found that this type of jewelry has a tendency to break down as it sits in the body and should not be used for body piercing! Second, the actual piece (shape) of jewelry that I picked out should NOT be used for a nose piercing, but would have been better suited for a cartilage piercing (as it was a straight bar) -- I feel as though this is something the piercer (Thomas Junior) should have known. I understand that I may seem a little uneducated in regards to body piercing, jewelry quality rating, etc., however, I think if the customer is not already educated on this subject that the customer SHOULD be educated by the person piercing them -- this should be a no brainer!! It is apparent that these people either 1) Do not care of their customers, as long as they get paid or 2) Are just as uneducated as your average person on this subject. Furthermore, prior to the actual piercing, Thomas Jr. measured my nose and made 3 dots so as to ask me where I would like the piercing to sit -- now, me never getting a facial piercing before, I had no idea where it should or shouldnt go. Therefore, I told him that I wanted it placed so that I could wear either a ring OR a stud if I wanted to -- I liked the idea of versatility. After speaking with a handful of other piercing shops, I found that he placed it in an area where a stud and/or a ring would look unfitting -- essentially he pierced me in a spot where either piece of jewelry would NOT look like it belonged. It has been a little over 2 months since I got my nose pierced, and I have still been experiencing sensitivity (due to the grade of jewelry), So I went to a local body piercing shop in Bend, OR. The main piercer there was SO helpful and educated me (what a concept!) on what their highest grade of jewelry was -- They mentioned that their highest grade was an implant-grade metal that DOES NOT break down within the body and therefore would not cause an infection or irritation -- Usually infections are human-caused. Lastly, as I was changing out my jewelry (the neo-metal), I found that my nose was on the brink of infection (I clean my nose with the face wash I normally use, twice a day, as this is recommended after the first 3-6 weeks of piercing) -- My piercing was really inflamed and irritated due to the quality of metal that Thomas Jr. used. I am extremely dissatisfied and disappointed in Ink Monkey and their quality of employees and products. I will NEVER recommend them nor will I ever go back again. I wish I could give this shop a -1, as they arent deserving of any stars.

Doug and JD were absolutely amazing! I live on the east coast but my husband and I wanted to get tattoos during our trip west. We researched online and asked locals for recommendations and ink monkey was the best reviewed and only one suggested by Venice locals. Well Im writing to report that this is a fact ink monkey is th best of the best! My husband had his first tattoo today by JD and it was on his ribs! JD was amazing took his time to make sure the tattoo was exactly how my husband wanted it. I had the pleasure of Doug doing my tattoo and with 3 other tattoos I can honestly say this one caused me no discomfort! Doug was honest when he saw I had some sunburn and gave me insight about placement so the tattoo will last and heal properly. I felt very comfortable with him and found him very easy to talk with! The other employees were all very welcoming and easy to talk with! Thank you all for making this trip something we certainly will never forget! And if you make it to the Baltimore convention make sure to reach out! Ashley

hello there, I was tattooed by the cool guy named Rey. When I came in somebody in the store pick me up and send me to Rey. He was really smart and heard what I want. He told me that we must make the tattoo bigger when I want a realistic tattoo with details. It means he took care about me and what I want. He also told me some ideas what he had. I felt save, I trusted him because everything looked like his doing his job really seriously. I chosed my design how I want it and up to 10 minutes we could start, i dont had to wait because im in holidays .. really cool. He was tattoing up to 2-3 hours, very fast and than we was finished. And what I can say at the end when I saw the results, its only wow, amazing work, seems that I had the Best Tattooer yesterday ;) grettings to Rey, hope see you again, maybe in a other part of the world and than I will get my second one from You! Finaly thx a lot again for the amaizing tattoo, see ya

I went in to get a tattoo and I had the pleasure of working with Zach. He is so sweet and so friendly, we had great conversation. When I needed breaks he was very nice about it, I needed to go outside for fresh air and he sat with me the whole time and made sure I was okay. The entire time he constantly was reassuring with me that I was okay. I also wanted to lay down instead of sitting, he was so nice and just accommodated my every need. And as a tattoo artist his lines were so clean! I would highly recommend Zach! My boyfriend has Mikey and he was such a cool laid back dude I would also recommend Mikey. Overall great experience and will always come back if in the area! If you want friendly service and a great tattoo go to Ink Monkey!

Michael did my palm tree tattoo while I was visiting from Oklahoma. I did quite a bit of digging to find someone near where I was staying that did good work. He was very easy to work with and happy to give me exactly what I wanted with my tattoo. He was ready for me when I came in, I approved the design, we discussed colors, and we went forward with the rest. From my first e-mail to the finished product he was great! If I ever decide I need another permanent souvenir Ill be contacting him. I must also add that the facility was nice and clean as I expected it to be.

My cousin and I wanted to get our cartilage pierced. So, we went to Ink Monkey. It was a great experience. The piercers were very professional. They both informed my cousin and I how to clean and take care of our piercings. I have about twelve piercings and have gone to many shops. This shop is definitely one of my favorites. They knew their stuff. I got my tragus pierced about 2-3 weeks ago and it is healing very well. Also, when they pierce your body you have a variety of rings to chose from! Its amazing. Not many shops are able to do that.
