Only three stars despite having an outstanding staff and a reasonably well stocked floor....the problem is the GOUGING you take from these people on EVERY item you buy. "Inflation wit elevation " was probably coined here. If at all possible, get yer tools, nuts, paint and bbq somewhere off this pricey mountain.....a home depot here wouldvkill this place in 2 weeks. Probly why they aint gonna have ANY box store here.....gotta protect the greedy "got mines"

Great ACE Hardware right in Truckee. Well stocked, bright well lit ACE hardware that had what I needed. BIGGEST surprise was the non-hardware store stuff they had! Boutique style Truckee-esque items that even just had to look through. Not the stuff youd expect in a ACE hardware but a VERY pleasant surprise!

They have everything. Seriously. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and available. Oh and the have an espresso bar out front.
