Sorry to see ownership change. The place has had a character all its own. Hopefully there wont be a full blown staff change as Ive gotten to know the current staff there pretty well...most all are good people in various chapters of their lives and working hard for a living. Long live Sinatra! Great deals of course, friendly staff, occasional less fortunates roam around but non threatening. Selection always good. I prefer going in the mornings as it can get crowded as the day goes on. If this location is too rough for the timid then the new location on Pacific should work for you. However, they arent in sync on what they order and pricing is different..... though still a bargain. As for expired items, get real! Ive rarely seen anything expired there. That said, go *edumacate* yourselves, the FDA is purposely conservative when dating products. Properly handled food in the US last well beyond expiration dates and common sense should be used. I certainly wouldnt eat yogurt 1 week past expiration but dry goods or canned, no issues. Hell, even a Twinkle will outlast the plastic packaging. When I buy certain basics, I always go here first. As the pickiness factor goes up then Ill make my way to a higher priced chain or specialty shop. You dont buy Cadillacs at Honda dealerships.

I love the deals at our Grocery outlet. I was sad when they moved from a closer location but, prices go up on rent and people have to do moves to make ends meet. I CHALLENGE YOU: I am looking at the comments about the area of the grocery outlets location here in Stockton. I think that people need to realize that there are people hurting all over. The choices some make is unbecoming but they should still be responded to as a human being in need of a kind word. There are these locations in every city and if those of us who can would figure out a way to end this homelessness and sadness, it would benefit everyone in the whole of our city. Give a heart and care and see if you can be one who helps change this scenario. Remember JFKennedy... "Dont ask what your country (city) can do for you but rather what you can do for your country (city)" I challenge you!

I love them all. Franchised with a soul . This one b holds a special place in my heart. All kinds of supermarket products always at reasonable prices. Home of the off brand cheep beer and wine drinkers special purchases. Deals a plenty. Excellent staff and ghetto clientle that make your schopping expierience special ...but special. Cons: If toilet paper is on your shopping list you may have to go to rite aid next door or the food for less three blocks down the road.

They had out dated juice right in the front of the store. Talking to family, we all missed the date. Got home put the juice in the freezer getting ready for dinner. Get the juice out, and see the date 24 days out dated... No more going to their store.
