DO NOT service your bike here, especially any sort of precision bike. I brought my road bike in, needing a rear wheel and gear set. They had all the parts in stock and the price was descent. But the guys in the shop are hatchet guys. They jerry-rigged a screw in to make a gear set fit and in doing so messed up my rear derailleur. They didnt even know how to change the tire properly. THREE times I had to bring the bike back because each morning Id wake up for a ride and every time it was flat! It took over a week before I finally got a chance to ride my bike! And amazingly, one of the yo-yos in the shop wanted to charge me for labor time! Ugh. Went to the manager and got little satisfaction - hardly an apology and no offer to discount their faulty work. The reason I went there in the first place was trying to save some time because they had the parts in stock - I could have saved money by ordering it in the mail. But their incompetence cost me a week of riding and a screwed up derailleur. BIKE REPAIR BEWARE!

Went to REI in search of hiking shoes. They didnt have the correct size, so we ordered from online. Shoes that were delivered werent quite right. Returned them to the store no problem and they ordered a second pair. That pair also had a problem. Again the store was easy to deal with. On the third trip we decided to leave the store with a quality good fitting shoe. The guys in the shoe department worked extra hard to make us happy. Great service! And their 1 year return policy cant be beat. Yes, even for hiking boots! My only advise would be, if you want beer than average service, avoid the store on the weekends. Its hectic. Weeknights were much more relaxed.

I love this place because I love good gear and being able to go in and mess with it, think about and then come back and do it again. I have never had anything, but good solid customer service and backing of the products they sell even when I have purchased the occasional dud/problem item. I have been utilizing the bike shop this year and am quite happy with their service staff and their abilities! They do a lot community support projects too!

My friend loaned me a bike to use for a triathlon. I am NOT a bike rider, so I took it into REI and was helped by Matt. He was patient with me, adjusted the bike to fit me, made excellent suggestions, reminded me of the value of an REI membership (which I bought) and overall was extremely helpful and kind. He should get high fives and kudos from the store management. Ill be back for instructional classes. Thanks Matt!

Took my aunt into the REI store because she had a gift card she lost. They were able to give us info. to recover the card and resend it to her. Not the typical - you loose it and its gone approach many other businesses have. Thank you REI santa rosa!

They have a lot of gear in one small store. The people are really helpful and they do not follow you around the store like in some places. They are conveniently located and they are far enough form the mall so that the parking is pretty good.

My first time to any REI store was this one and if there is one thing that stands out is their staff and over the moon willingness to help. Large selection of outdoor stuff and knowledgeable people to guide you.
